We have never regretted choosing Ashton Manor during the 7 years that our father was a resident. Our initial decision was based upon the length of time the senior staff had been at the care home, which allowed for the continuity of care for residents as well as maintaining the high standards that
they set themselves.
Over time we saw the professional development of staff that indicated that this was seen as their career rather than 'just a job'. This was reflected in the excellent care and kindness shown by all the staff.
The rooms were large and were always kept clean.
Many activities were arranged for the residents, including outings to the seaside, that obviously took a lot of organising by the staff but the residents and their families clearly enjoyed the experience.
Perhaps the greatest accolade we can provide is that we felt comfortable and confident in entrusting the care of our father to the kind and professional staff and management at Ashton Manor.

My husband has been resident at Ashton Manor since last June and we think very highly of the staff and the care he has received. The hospital wanted us to arrange a room in a nursing home at short notice and this was quickly sorted out in a kind and helpful way. I visit frequently and have never
heard a cross word, even when behaviour is challenging. All the family are made welcome to visit. My husband particularly likes access to the garden and enjoys the excellent food.

I have volunteered for two years now, since the time my wife died. She was at Ashton Manor for five years. I volunteer because I want to repay, in however small a way, the very special level of care and kindness that she received. I too was always made welcome whenever I visited; and I still am, to
the extent that I always look forward to a visit. Every member of staff is so friendly - and they all smile a smile which is always unforced and genuine. I would be totally disorientated if I no longer had reason to visit.

My 90 year old mother has been at Ashton Manor for over 5 years and I have nothing but praise for all the staff who go out of their way to make the residents' lives as pleasant as possible with endless patience, friendliness and kindness. All the residents are treated with the greatest respect,
and the staff are always smiley and friendly with family members and friends who visit. The management is exceptional too, which I think is why the staff all seem to enjoy their roles, and Ashton Manor is run very smoothly.
I really wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ashton Manor to anyone - we have absolutely no regrets in choosing it for my mum (during Covid when we couldn't even visit in person!).
The rooms are clean and the food is good and plentiful.

My friend has been a long term resident and I have been impressed over the years by the consistently high quality of care provided. The facilities are well maintained and bright and welcoming. The staff are always approachable and communicative. They have a good rapport with the residents and
endless patience giving them self-determination whenever possible. Staff training and development is a particular concern of the management and this is reflected in the good retention rate, which aids the stability of the experience for residents. They have been very good at keeping me informed about medical developments and issues and have helped with form filling for financial and legal purposes.

We had to find a suitable care home when my father was in hospital. Ashton Manor staff moved quickly to support us including a short notice visit and admission within days.
Since Dad has been resident, we have been impressed by all aspects of his care and management of the home. Staff appear
to enjoy working there with ready smiles and a chat. Food is very good and plentiful.
We were new to the care environment, staff have supported us as a family to understand the system and tackle paperwork etc.
Residents are known well by the staff and cared for as individuals, adjusting to their needs and preferences. There is a good range of activities and services and occasional outings. A recent highlight for Dad was a huge cake and fuss for his birthday.
Thank you Ashton Manor - I don't hesitate to recommend you.

Mum moved to Ashton Manor in May 2022. During mum's 3 years at Ashton Manor she was treated with respect and understanding by all the staff.
As a family, we were welcomed in and every kindness shown to us, from the initial settling in process (which mum found difficult) to mum's final days. We
were encouraged to make mum's room homely, placing favourite items around her and a smart speaker so she could listen to songs she loved. The manager or members of her team were always on hand to answer any queries or just give us a reassuring word when needed.
The care given to mum was exemplary, always with a gentle word, a smile and kindness. In my opinion mum could not have received more professional and dedicated care than she did at Ashton Manor.
A difficult time for all concerned was eased by the caring nature of the manager and her team.

I cannot fault the care given by the staff at Ashton Manor. They looked after my mum for 3 years with respect and kindness, allowing her to retain her dignity until the end of her life. She formed close bonds with the staff and went above and beyond to make her feel at home. They also looked after
us, her family, especially at the end. We cannot thank them enough.

Ashton Manor was recommended to us by a friend.
When we viewed Ashton Manor looking for a care home for my mother in law we instantly had a positive feeling about the home. Staff were all welcoming and friendly.
Ashton Manor is a listed building in a village and has pretty grounds. All the rooms
are slightly different but all were clean and well equipped. My mother in law has settled in well and we have nothing but praise for the care she receives. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit.
Recently it was my mother in laws birthday and staff were really helpful in setting up a space in the garden where lots of us could visit at the same time to share tea and cake.
The only negative thing has been a problem with the lift which did limit my mother in law going downstairs for a little while. Staff did bring my mother in law down stairs manually in the very hot weather .
My mother in law always appears content and happy.

I felt warmly welcomed into Ashton Manor from the start. The staff were all kind, polite and caring. My father was well cared for in the short time he was with them. He was treated with kindness and respect and had regular checks on him to check on his needs he may require. The rooms were a good
size, with an ensuite toilet or shower room. My dad's room looked over the beautiful garden. Unfottunately my dad was too ill to use the activities and facilities downstairs but looked well organised on our initial viewing. I would recommend anyone who is looking into care for any elderly relative to look at and consider Ashton Manor as there preferred choice. Lovely staff, wonderful care!

There are a wide range of activities, which can be adapted to individual needs and everyone is encouraged and helped to take part. All residents are known by
their first names by all staff. Visitors are always acknowledged and welcomed.
Any issues that arise are quickly and efficiently dealt with and family members are Included in the decision making process. Nursing staff are always ready to discuss matters and take their time to explain concerns in detail and management are always on hand and easy to approach.

My mother stayed for a week's respite care. She was quite worried and reluctant to stay away from her home of over 60 years. She was treated extremely well by caring and attentive staff. After being so reluctant to stay anywhere, one of the first things she said after getting home was that she'd
happily stay there again.

My father has one-to-one care at Ashton Manor Nursing Home. Whenever we visit with my mum, he is really well cared for, clean, the room is always clean and staff happy. There is always a sense of calm in the building and a big effort by staff to celebrate holidays, Halloween etc., with decorations
and events. All staff are lovely and friendly, make us feel welcome. I know my father couldn't be in a better place and we feel lucky he is here.

When my husband first came to Ashton Manor Nursing Home, he was very unsettled and sometimes violent towards the staff. They were very patient and treated him with much care and compassion. He has dementia. He took a long time to settle. The staff worked hard to make him accept and be happy.
Notifying me of any problems, mainly by phone - not in his hearing. We, the family, are extremely pleased with all the staff in this home. They always make us welcome when we visit and inform us of any problems as they arise. We are very happy he is in such good hands. He is very lucky but does no realise - but we do! We wish all elderly could have this amount of care and lovely, tasty meals.

I have been a resident here since March 2024. I transferred here from care homes in another area where I experienced residency in four different care facilities. Ashton Manor has proven to be way ahead of anything in my past.
It is clear that the staff are well trained, show understanding of
resident's individual needs and respond to that.
I have no reservations in giving them five stars.

The staff at Ashton Manor Nursing Home work as a team, they are welcoming, attentive, caring and considerate. They keep you updated on what is going on and try to entertain all the residents with activities throughout the day. The meals smell delicious and are very healthy, and those who cannot feed
themselves, they always make sure that they are eating or drinking properly and encourage in a kindly way. The residence is clean and tidy and everyone plays their part with excellence. Full marks for a great team who, most of the time, are happy and interacting with residents.
