My elderly grandmother is very settled at The Cottage and is much happier than she was in a previous home and is engaging in the communal activities at the home. All the staff are friendly and attentive and it's clear that Nan gets on well with them. Care plans are readily accessible for residents
and family to read and staff are happy to answer any questions. They go the extra mile to ensure their residents are happy and as well as they can be.
They keep us well informed about Nan's wellbeing and genuinely care.
There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and it's clean and tidy. They are currently carrying maintenance work to update the interior.

My Aunt has recently moved to this care home and I have visited her on two occasions so far. She has settled in very well and appears to be content. I have been impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the care they show to the residents and visitors. Since her relocation, my Aunt seems far
more alert and interested in what's going on around her. The lounge area is always full of activity and contributes to the welcoming atmosphere of the home. The staff seem to know the residents well and enjoy looking after them.

My mother has been a resident here since October 2025 and we have always been happy with the high level of care and compassion she receives at the Cottage Nursing Home.
Staff are always very accomodating whenever we visit, always keeping us informed about ongoing care plans. All members of staff
are friendly, professional, polite and make us feel very welcome (without exception)
The manager has a genuine compassion for his residents and treats them and ourselves as his extended family.Nothing is ever an issue and he goes above and beyond at all times.

Mom has only been at the Cottage Nursing home for 3 weeks having been placed at another home in the area by the Council. The difference is remarkable, from being bedridden and difficult to rouse during our daily visits to being up and alert. On the first full day she was treated by a chiropodist,
which didn't happen previously despite repeated requests and she also had her hair cut and styled that same day. We are kept informed of what's going on with Mom and there are weekly visits from the doctor which is reassuring and surprising as she hadn't seen her own GP for 2 years.
The staff are friendly and attentive to both residents and their family visitors, and, it seems, nothing is too much trouble. Activities are available and dedicated staff are on hand to encourage and cajole those people, who are able, into joining in.
They don't have any agency staff, so the staff there are familiar with the residents and, just as important, the residents know them.
The right place for Mom.

I called at The Cottage Nursing Home with my daughter before Christmas and a lovely lady, who had previously worked at the home by the name of Lillian suggested that I take a look around and meet the staff. I found the staff; nurses, carers & entertainers all in a big lounge. Mr T took us on a tour,
they even have a shop. It is a truly beautiful place with a great family atmosphere. My husband is now a resident in The Cottage and and is very happy with the room and care. It is clean and extremely well looked after. I have not been able to find this standard of environment and care anywhere else. I would also like to say a big thank you to Mr T who is a truly wonderful man who has helped me so much.

The service Mom is receiving from the Staff, from the Cleaner, Carers, Nurses & Management as been exceptionally, There have got things done for mom, that was promised by several nursing professionals for over 6 months and never got done, they have been done and fully dealt with in 3 days thanks to
the manager.
From the nursing care, friendliness, cleanliness and efficiency of manager, for making us all feel part of a large family where nothing is to much trouble. I would highly recommend to family & friends with no hesitation.
A Big Thankyou to them all, for making Mom's stay as comfortable as you possible can.

My Mother is a resident of this nursing home..having come from another residential home in the area the care at the cottage is 100% better
Nothing is to much for the carers or the management to make sure the residents are cared for, comfortable and extremely well looked after.

Following a stroke R was placed at the Cottage N.H. Being unable to live independently in the community the staff were like his family.for 14 years. Sadly as the family were not all local the care and support given was even more important..
Professional care was given in a kind, reliable way with
attention to needs and provision of support as necessary. increasing as required over the years. Many of the staff have been employed for a number of years so continuity of care was good. To aid this also recently a full complement of staff are employed, so agency staff are not required. They work as team with good communication between staff and relatives who are part of the decision making process.
Skin integrity, maintenance of good wholesome meals and regular fluids in addition to care by the local GP who visits weekly are routine
Excellent activities are coordinated e.g. crayoning, seed planting, visits of musicians, singers and all the festivals celebrated in the home together.

My uncle was a resident at The Cottage for over 14 years until he recently passed away. I only have positive things to say about the management and staff. My Uncle felt as if he was at home at The Cottage and they were his family in many ways. We were kept well informed about him, and felt
involved in every major decision.
The Cottage is clean and tidy, and put on great activities for the residents. I made many surprise visits and they were always up to the standards I would expect. I did not taste the food, so I cannot comment on that, but I am sure it was acceptable.
Well done to the team.

This nursing home exceeds all expectations! Every single member of staff goes above and beyond to make a comfortable home for all residents, and treat them like family members.
Prior to moving my family member here, we had a nightmare at another home so we were very guarded. But the staff couldn't
have been more welcoming and quickly got to work rectifying the physical and psychological harms that had been caused elsewhere.
The home always smells clean and no matter what time of day or night I visit, there is always a calm and jovial atmosphere.
A key signifier of just how excellent it is at The Cottage Nursing Home, is the fact that a majority of the staff have been there for many years - it's like walking into one big family home.
I was very sceptical about nursing homes after some very challenging experiences, but this home restored my faith in good care! I'm so grateful to the manager and all the staff for their continued care, compassion and enthusiasm! This home is 10/10.

It was with a heavy heart that we finally had to face the fact that our Father needed the care that we could no longer provide at home.
However the moment we entered the Cottage we were put at ease.
The warmth, care and compassion that Dad receives is second to none.
Every member of the staff are
wonderful and your made to feel like one huge, extended family.
We would highly recommend the Cottage and have no concerns whatsoever.

My dad was taken into the cottage nursing home , I found this very upsetting for him to leave our family home , but the care he has received since he's been there is excellent, we couldn't of asked for a more nicer place for my dad to be , the love and care ever member of staff have for the resident
is amazing, every time we visit we are always made to feel very welcome and when we leave I no my dad is in safe hand .

My mom was at this care home for 3 and a half years but she passed away in October 2025. My mom was well looked after and they looked after me too. The care is very good here and the management also. Thank you to Tinu and his team for being there for all of us and without rushing us when mom passed.

My mom has been in The Cottage about 1 year. The home it self is basic but has recently been re-decorated. The rooms are quite nice and Mom has her own things around her.
The nursing staff are care staff and very attentive and friendly towards Mom and treat her with dignity. Since the new
management have come to the home the atmosphere seems to have changed for the better, activity team are always around so the carers are not so stretched. The new Manager seems to have got things done that needed doing. He is very approachable and welcoming.
Overall we're quite satisfied Mom is in the best place for her .

My cousin has been a resident at the care home since June 2025. Whilst she has found it difficult to accept she now needs permanent residential care, the management and care staff have made strenuous efforts to help her settle in and feel she is in a safe and friendly environment which is her home.
My dealings with all members of staff have been positive, and I always feel they are enthusiastic in their role. They strive to create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, and the entertainment team encourage residents to participate in activities on a daily basis. The Xmas decorations are excellent. In summary, I feel my cousin is in a safe place, and is being well looked after.

Cannot say enough good things about the cottage. From top to bottom it's a great place and feels like a family run home , not a care home. The staff are amazing and treat dad so well. They are also brilliant when my kids come with me and look after them too. Thank you

My sister in law moved into the Cottage Nursing home three weeks ago. Everyone I have interacted with from the Manager to the staff have been very welcoming and supportive. The Manager has explained ways that we can work together to ensure my sister in law has the best experience and his staff have
communicated a caring attitude in what can be an anxious time. Well done to you all.

Our mother spent over 6 years in The Cottage until she died on 5th October 2025. The care she received throughout was brilliant, the managers and staff couldn't have done more to make mom feel comfortable. The review process asks that we don't mention any names but the present and past managers and
carers have been totally professional. They have always been approachable and happy to discuss mom's care regime and provide updates as needed. Despite the huge stress they were under during Covid, the manager and staff did a superb job in keeping the residents, staff and visitors as safe as possible. Mom also had various hospital appointments and the Cottage arranged these and provided staff, where needed, to accompany her. Mom passed away during the night, but the staff on duty did everything they could to care for her in her final hours and to notify us straight away. This was a great comfort to us. We would thoroughly recommend the Cottage to all residents and their families.

My nan has been in the home for 7 years staff are very dedicated to their job and friendly and outstanding. The new manager is always approachable and will deal with any concerns. It's home from home, so comforting and a great home to live in, my nan has always said it's the best place to live. I
would recommend the cottage for anyone's loved ones to live in
