View Full Details of Regency Care HomeMy mum spent the last 6 months of her life on the nursing unit at Regency. Although going into a care home is the last thing we wanted we found the staff at Regency to be very welcoming, friendly, compassionate and caring. They do not use bank staff, so the carers got to know her and she got to know them. She was very happy and settled there and also told me she enjoyed the food! The staff communicated very well with me and I felt involved in her care.
Excellent care home. The staff are incredible, professional, but with love and so much care. My mum spent the last 3 months of her life at Regency with dementia, after breaking her hip at the age of 93. My brother and myself felt supported by the amazing nurses and carers. Highly recommend. We will forever grateful for the compassion received by all the staff. Thank you.
My father was with Regency for two months following a period in hospital. His complex medicinal care was professionally delivered by a caring team of nurses and clinical practitioners, to high standards and with constant communication throughout. Regency's team of carers, catering staff, electrician, domestic and administration teams, all worked seamlessly to get to know us as a family and resolve any aspects which could make my father's daily situation more comfortable and less anxious. My father knew each staff member by name, as we did, and we could visit without constraint, which brought peace of mind. Regency is well managed to high professional standards. Most important of all, was the ability as a family to work through any questions or changes, together with the staff and manager, to improve comfort and wellbeing for our loved one, including contact through the night when urgent. We are grateful to all the team at Regency Care Centre, for their caring and commitment.
I am writing to review the incredible unwavering care, compassion, and professionalism of the whole team at the Regency Care Centre in Whitefield, Manchester. Watching a loved one go through such a life-changing event, such as a stroke, is never easy, but knowing that he is in the hands of such capable, kind, and attentive people, has brought our family immense comfort. From the leadership team, down to each nurse, caregiver, and support staff member-their dedication is unwavering. They treat my dad with dignity, patience, and genuine warmth, and that means the world to us. It is not just the medical care that we appreciate, though that has been outstanding - it is the small things too: the gentle encouragement, the friendly conversations, the personal touches and smiles that show they truly care about his wellbeing as a person, not just a patient. These gestures make all the difference and we are extremely grateful as a family to the whole team.
My Mum has been a resident at Regency for 8+ years. I feel the care she has received has been centred around her, and her individual needs. As well as them looking after Mum, I also feel very involved with her care/decisions. This, I would want to be, and find reassuring. The home has a very warm/homely environment. The team at Regency (including carers, catering team, activities, domestics, admin staff, nurses and management) are all both professional and approachable. Each team member will always stop to say hello/have a chat to Mum whenever they see her, which she enjoys, as do they. Many of the team have been employed by Regency for a lot of years, which I think speaks for itself, also providing a good continuity of care for residents. I would recommend Regency if you find yourself in the position of requiring care for a loved one.
My Father was treated with the utmost care and respect during his 9 months as a resident at Regency Care Home. As he neared his end of life they tenderly looked after him and were so kind & respectful to support me as I sat by his bed for four days.
My sister is 93. When her husband died in 2017 her physical and mental health was already very poor. She was incapable of looking after herself. Her personal hygiene was awful and she lived in semi-squalor with only a small electric fire to keep her warm as she spent most of her time in a chair surrounded by books, newspapers, and general rubbish constituting an extreme fire risk. She is now safe and warm, well-nourished, and attended to by well-trained staff who genuinely care for her. As her attorney, I have agreed that she should be included in the DOLS regime under which I receive very detailed reports of her condition. This has given me and the rest of the family great peace of mind, especially me as I have been making my own lengthy recovery from a stroke. The whole staff at Regency deserves recognition for the tireless dedication they bring to their work.
My father entered Regency in June 2021 and sadly passed away in October 2024. My father-in-law had previously been in Regency for end-of-life care in February 2021 and my Nan entered Regency many years ago for respite. My father didn't really want to go into residential care but was no longer safe to remain home alone due to numerous falls and his dementia. However, despite his reluctance he embraced his time in Regency making many new friends and I strongly believe that in making the difficult decision to move him to Regency the dedicated care from all the team gave us three extra years with Dad which we wouldn't have otherwise had. There are always lots of activities taking place and every member of staff from the carers to the kitchen staff, the cleaners, and the admin team are all friendly and caring. For their care and dedication, we as a family can't speak highly enough of all the staff and services provided at Regency.
My mother has been a resident here for 22 months. I visit weekly and can see she is well cared for and well looked after She appears to be happy here. As my mother is in the upstairs unit and bedbound and also suffers from Alzheimer's, but has lucid times, there are very little activities provided for her to partake in, as this is geared to other residents downstairs, and she's agitated when hoisted out of bed. Other than the activities the care, support, cleanliness, friendliness are all excellent. The costs are higher here than other homes I have viewed in Manchester and Lancashire, but the Regency's reputation and my experience of my mum being here is overall very good. I just wish it was much closer to where I live and that mum wasn't having to pay almost all her own care bill.
The staff are absolutely amazing at Regency. They go above and beyond for my mum despite her being quite difficult. They are very knowledgeable, experienced, and most of all caring for the residents. My mum has been here for 10 years and the quality of service has always been high. Highly recommended!
Mum has really settled in and slowly regaining some confidence after her fall at Xmas. The staff have been really helpful and caring.
My husband has been in Regency Care Home for just over two months. During this time, his care has been and still is excellent. All staff have taken time and effort to get to know him and support his needs, which has resulted in him settling into his new environment. As his wife, I feel confident that he is being cared for to a high standard. The surroundings in the home a beautifully cared for. The lounges and gardens are extremely well looked after, creating a warm and friendly place for recreation. I recommend Regency Care Home to anyone considering a care home for their loved ones.
A very good experience and my father is cared for round the clock. That takes a lot of my mind. I can't praise the staff enough for their attitude and commitment to caring. The home itself has good bright rooms and areas for sitting in or watching TV. It also has a lovely outside garden for residents to go. The food seems good and the kitchen staff are willing to help. As a visitor and part carer, I would benefit from even more information about the workings of the home e.g. bringing in food, systems of hair, dentist, chiropody, GP, nails, A&E visits etc. That way I would be clearer on what to expect and what I still needed to be responsible for.
My Mother passed away in June 2024 following almost eight years as a nursing resident at Regency Care Home. The care she received over these years was exceptional. In the last few weeks of her life, my Mum was shown such kindness and compassion, not only from the staff who cared for her but many others at the home. In addition, I received support and help which I can only describe as overwhelming and gave me great comfort during Mum's final days.
My stepfather was at Regency Care Home for 6 weeks. He went in on 6.2.24 and passed away on 16.3.24. In the time spent there he was bedridden and had end-stage vascular dementia. The care he received was excellent and he was treated with such dignity. The dementia nurse was outstanding and made our loss at the end calm and with such empathy. His clothes were also lovingly cared for which we hadn't had in his previous care home. Thank you so much to all the lovely staff.
I am so very happy and grateful to all members of staff at Regency Care Home, for the highly dedicated care provided to our Mother. I’ve cared for Mum for 3 years but recently needed respite. I was worried initially as we have never been apart although my worries were thankfully short-lived. All of the care staff, nurses, managers, chefs, etc, are caring, kind, warm, friendly and really do go above and beyond to make sure that, not only are residents cared for exceptionally, but also, family members are too. I will never forget the first day I went to visit Mum and one of the carers (who is loving, thoughtful and caring) was so excited when she realised that Mum was the sister of another resident, my beautiful aunt, she then went downstairs to bring my auntie up to see my Mum as they hadn’t seen each other in many years. It was such an emotional and deeply moving moment, one which I will never forget. Regency truly is a superb, well-managed, home-from-home environment. 5 stars.
I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving and the environment in which she is living. The care home is always very clean and maintained to a high standard. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and they have developed good relationships with my mother. Recently, for my mother's Birthday, the staff provided a birthday cake with candles and had a small party gathering. That made her feel very special! On Christmas day the staff arranged for us to have Christmas dinner as a family in the TV lounge. My aunt who is also a resident in the care home was able to join us. The staff are very aware of my mother's health and wellbeing and if she feels unwell they make sure that the doctor is contacted. A line of communication is always open to keep me informed of developments. Management are always available to address any concerns that I might have regarding my mother's overall care. My mother is very happy at Regency, regards it as her home and enjoys living there.
The first day we arrived to look around Regency Nursing Home there was a pleasant smell and so warm and friendly the staff were. We just knew this was the place for Mother. They made time to explain everything to us. In her remaining time there my mother seems more relaxed and content of late.
The staff, nurses and caregivers are always to me and my mum very professional and also seem happy in whatever they do. The food is served hot and presentable and always with a smile on the faces of the carers. They are always organising activities in the home and it could be anything from making things or just singing and they create a great atmosphere. My mum seems very happy were she is most the time and l put this down to the right care and support from the whole team at the home.
Lovely, kind and helpful staff. Regency is always such a welcoming place to visit, always spotlessly fresh and clean. Lots of activities going on, especially over the Christmas period. My brother feels very at home in Regency.
