View Full Details of Elm Lea Residential Care HomeMy father moved into Elm Lea earlier this year, and from the very first day, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. The home is beautifully maintained, and the staff-under the excellent leadership of the manager are consistently professional, caring, and attentive. My father truly feels at home and well cared for, and the engaging daily activities have been wonderful in keeping him active and uplifted.
We couldn't be happier with the care our father receives at Elm Lea Residential Care Home. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a real family home-welcoming, warm, and full of life, not at all like a typical retirement facility. The staff are absolutely lovely-always helpful, friendly, and genuinely caring. There's a strong sense of community here, with frequent communication that keeps us in the loop (very helpful since we live abroad) and reassures us that Dad is in great hands. The team puts a lot of effort into involving all residents in fun, engaging activities, and the occasional excursions around Hythe are a wonderful treat-such a lovely area to explore! The food is another highlight-healthy, home-cooked meals that really make a difference. The garden is beautiful too, a peaceful space where residents can relax and enjoy a bit of nature. Elm Lea strikes the perfect balance between being professional and creating a safe, nurturing environment. We're so grateful.
Such a lovely home couldn't ask for better for my aunt. All the staff are dedicated and generally care, it's not just their job, very much like a family unit. The manager is amazing, totally dedicated caring and a brilliant manager. Such a great choice.
My dad has mild dementia and has been at Elm Lea for about a year as he was unable to cope on his own. Elm Lea has become his new home and although he wasn't keen to move he has settled in well there. It's not a large home and more like a big family. The staff are amazing, always happy and upbeat. They know how to get the best out of him, gently encouraging him with lots of good humour and banter. It's such a relief to know he is well cared for and safe now. Dad has a nice, well equipped room, but also likes sitting in the sunny conservatory which over looks the garden. The staff are also great with me. Always a warm welcome, regular contact and up to date with what dad is doing. Thanks to Elm Lea for the great care they are taking of my dad.
Dad has been in the home for nearly two months. This has been a really difficult transition however the Manager and the team have been very accommodating and tried to make this as easy as possible. Thank you for your support.
Since my mother has been a resident at Elm Lea, she has been shown respect and understanding, with encouragement she has come out of her shell and is able to socialise with other residents and staff. The staff are reintroducing crafts to her which she hasn’t done for many years. They listen to mum’s interests and accommodate where able. When I visit, I am greeted with a warm welcome, the staff tell me what mum has been doing and how she is, it is very reassuring that they actually know who mum is and they know who I am and who my other visitors are. In my experience, I believe Elm Lea is well-led and provides person-centred care.
I couldn't wish for a nicer place for my husband to live. All the staff are so friendly and kind. My husband seems to feel safe, and I know he loves the staff too. They are all patient with him, and understand the problems he has with his dementia, even when he is being a bit of a handful. Elmlea is always clean and tidy and doesn't have that care home smell, that can sometimes be unpleasant. I would recommend this care home to anyone who wants the personal touch.
My father is a resident, after another care home, my dad seems very happy here and at the care home. He is cared for and is happy, I am happy we found him, Elm Lea, as we were worried about him in the other care home. Very friendly staff and always welcoming, could not recommend them enough!
Excellent in every respect - cannot be faulted. Elm Lea is a wonderful care home - small, personal and cosy. The home is well-managed and run by competent, caring and compassionate staff who provide the level and standard of care that I would want for myself. I am able to relax knowing that my mother is in good hands and is well cared for.
Elm Lea is an excellent care home that is well managed and run by professional, competent, caring and compassionate staff. Knowing that a loved family member is being looked after by such people and that their comfort and best interests are always at the core of the care that they receive gives one true peace of mind. The management and staff at Elm Lea provide all that one could ever hope for in such circumstances. Excellent in every respect.
Home very good. Excellent staff, approachable at all times. Very clean, very good food. Bright room. An all-around wonderful home. My brother has thrived since our mother passed away. We have a 45-minute drive to see my brother. Well worth the drive to see him happy.
