View Full Details of Woodside Care VillageOur elderly relative has no close family. The trusted Adviser at Woodside Care Village helped us through the process of choosing a care home and even visited our relative with a team member to understand her needs. So far, the process has been well organised with good communications and our relative is well cared for by kind staff. keep up the good work.
I have always found the Staff to be friendly and welcoming. Nothing ever seems to much trouble. As Mum has Dementia, she is not always easy to look after, but the staff always treat her with dignity, and have taken time to learn about her likes and dislikes, also how to divert her attention away from what is upsetting her (usually when she has forgotten where she is).
Caring friendly staff make this home a welcoming place. The plaza where many activities are held means residents will never feel isolated. Meals are nutritious- especially when you are "hooked on" fruit like my husband. A short chair exercise class would be a good addition.
I would like too take this opportunity too leave a review at a very difficult time for both myself & my mom. My mom suffers from dementia & it had really got too the stage that mom needed full time care. After visiting/viewing Woodside it was decided that mom would trial/respite here. It was such an emotional time both for myself & family & off course mom. However I cannot compliment both the manager & the staff off Woodside village. From the very start they have treated mom with such sincerity, kindness & making her feel safe. All the while the manager kept me updated every step off the way. Mom has reached so many milestones already in such a short time, she eats 3 meals a day, allows staff too shower her, has fresh air daily, takes all her medication, and is building friendships. The daily singing is a huge plus for mom that's her 'happy place' I feel confident that mom is going too be very happy at Woodside & that is down to the manager & all the staff! Thankyou
My friend is really happy at Woodside Care home and I am confident that this was the right place for him. He is well looked after and kept on the correct diet, which was something he found hard to adhere to. All the staff that we have encountered whilst he has been there are excellent, friendly and helpful.
I am very satisfied with my mum being at Woodside Care Village, as I have looked after her for nine years totally on my own. I feel that she is in very good hands at Woodside, the staff are lovely and Woodside is always spotlessly clean all around the whole building. Well done Woodside.
Woodside is an excellent care home Mum has been a resident since it opened in 2019. The care staff have been consistently respectful, thoughtful and caring. They create a true family atmosphere which is welcoming and interesting for residents and gives them the confidence to live their best life in their later life when the changes to their health might otherwise be daunting and frightening. They are an excellent team.
This care home is very good and regular staff are caring. Sometimes the agency staff are more on their phones than caring! A large communal room would be a huge benefit to get everyone together for special occasions.
I cannot recall seeing my mum more settled or at peace. So lovely to receive photos of her enjoying activities from the app. Management are attentive, available and responsive to feedback. My mum is making new memories and friends and even has a new 'dog.'
My mother and father were both residents at Woodside until my father’s death in October 2020. My mum continued to reside at Woodside until her death in February 2024. Without exception, management, carers, housekeeping, activities coordinators and reception treated my mum with love, care, dignity and respect, and they did everything they could to support and care for Mum and us family, particularly in Mum’s final weeks. Mum was a much-loved member of the Woodside family, and we were treated as a family too, while we miss our beloved Mum so much, we will also miss our connection with Woodside. I found access to the online system especially helpful as I live a distance away, and it enabled me to obtain up-to-date information on my mum, how she was, what she’d been doing, etc.
No complaints. My mum gets six visits per month from my sister and myself. Mum is always clean, dressed and happy enough. No issues/concerns me. The lady who is my mum's contact has related any concerns. More parking spaces would be welcome. Access in and our vis button has improved no end since one lady is on reception.
I am very happy with the way Mum is treated, i.e. respect, dignity, care and thoughtfulness. As a visitor, I am very grateful to the household carers as they always make me feel welcome, and always let me know of any needs or requirements needed. The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming. Staff are always cheerful and friendly. Keep up the good work.
We chose Woodside Care Village for my mum-in-law as we were so impressed by how it doesn't look like a care home. Having always said she never wanted to stay in a home, it was difficult when falls and dementia made it impossible to be cared for at home. The care given has been great and the welcome attitude for visiting is a huge help. The lady on the desk has been super helpful and the manager has responded quickly to any concerns we have had. The music input is a massive benefit and the team supports all the residents to attend but also respects their wishes not to. Having a relatives portal is fantastic...I can check when I'm working and can't visit. The garden is a wonderful asset and we have used it all summer. We have just been invited to spend a Christmas meal as a family. We are very pleased that this was available to choose when we needed it.
Since we brought mom to Woodside, it is clear that it is a very different care environment. I see the continuous support, care and love for the residents from the staff. There are many moments that I witness where a big smile and a hug are freely exchanged between the above and it seems to me that this is part of everyone's day. The rooms are very well-appointed and maintained. Despite the usual issues with daily living, the living spaces are kept clean and tidy, whatever the situation. The food is excellent and the ability to be involved with choices, prep, and cooking is brilliant. Meals are popular for mom and can be taken in privacy or at the dining table with others. There is always someone to administer regular meds and to make a coffee to help the day along. The garden is perfectly maintained and is a real gem. A place to enjoy the flowers and sun / fresh air. Regular music from a real musician is lovely. All staff are super supportive, friendly and positive.
Having recently lost my mum, who was a resident at Woodside for just over three years, I thought I would write a review. My mum went into Woodside just before the Covid outbreak, and everything shut down, it was a very difficult time and not being able to see mum was heartbreaking, when I did eventually see her, she looked so happy and had settled very well into her new home, she was very well cared for, looked well and nicely dressed and said she loved her new house, this made me very happy and reassured me that I had made the right decision in choosing Woodside for her new home. The staff and management were very good, kind and approachable, if I had any concerns, I came to think of them as extended family and Mum loved her time there with her little household of residents. The set up of Woodside into small households is a wonderful concept, with the added bonus of lovely gardens and a village-type set-up. Thank you for making the last few years of my beautiful, kind mum’s life very happy.
My mother has been a resident for just over three years. The care is consistently very good, and my mother has made friends and enjoys the various activities from her knitting club, bingo and music/singing. The care staff ensure that families are kept up to date and welcoming.
My mother has been at Woodside since it opened in December 2019. As her health has deteriorated over the years, and her needs have changed, Woodside have supported us along the way. They listen to feedback and act accordingly. It is reassuring when you see familiar care staff on your household when visiting, as a rapport can be maintained. The management team are always looking for ways to improve, adapt and cater for all needs and it is lovely to see a friendly face on the concierge desk. The facilities are great and regular relative meetings are scheduled to give families a chance to meet other relatives and catch up on what's going on. This also is a great forum to raise any issues, but this can also be done in a dedicated review with the team leader instead. Also, a quick shout out to the gardener who does an amazing job keeping everything looking fabulous and the lady who takes care of the resident's cash accounts, which makes our lives a lot easier.
My sister is a resident in the definitely independent part of Woodside Care Village. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Especially the staff that work in the definitely independent unit.
The home in question has good services, staff are genuinely polite, my father is blind, sometimes we need help to bring my brother home for family time, at times this has been troublesome to arrange, mainly because of staffing issues. My brother also fell from his bed at the end of January 2023, I saw the photo and the injury looked severe and only just missing his eye. Better planning and provision are required to protect sharp corners so this does not happen again.
Excellent care and facilities, very happy with care and support given.
