Woodside Care Village is a community-style care home made up of 12 family-sized households for people with similar care needs, backgrounds and interests.

Designed in one of three lifestyles, town, country or classical living, each household has its own kitchen, dining area and living room. All bedrooms have ensuite wetrooms. Two of the households are dedicated to the Deafinitely Independent service which supports people who are deaf. Staff who work on these households are trained in British Sign Language and other communication methods.

The home has its own shop, launderette, café, cinema, spa bathroom and hair salon. Residents are encouraged to live a life that feels familiar, going to the shop to choose their food and contributing to preparing it on the household, helping to clean their home or do their laundry - doing as little or as much as they would like to.

The home uses a range of technology to enhance the health and wellbeing of residents including acoustic night-time monitoring and circadian lighting.

The gardens and plaza feature outdoor gym equipment, a side-by-side bike, pitch and putt golf and two water features. The village has a dedicated Memory Maker minibus which takes residents on regular, local trips to places chosen by the residents. Relatives are invited to go on these trips too. As part of the home's activity provision, Community Musicians provide one-to-one and group music sessions.

My mother had been with Woodside Care Village for over 3 years with dementia, during this time I have nothing but praise for her care during this time. The staff treated her with love and respect and looked after all of her needs, they genuinely cared about my mothers well being both mentally and physically.
She was treated like one of the family and cared for all of her needs with respect and dignity. The on-line portal I found particularly comforting as this reported her activity throughout the day, every day of the week.
I cannot thank the staff enough for all that they have done with my mothers care, she had the best care she could have received in the period she was in the care home.
A big thank you to all of the team at Woodside care village from my wife and all of the family.
Reply from Lorraine Herbert, General Manager at Woodside Care VillageThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. It was our absolute pleasure caring for your mother and having her, and you, as part of our Woodside Care Village family. Best wishes.

The whole Woodside team (reception, house staff, housekeepers, carers, management) have from the very beginning been very caring and proactive in ensuring that Dads individual needs are met and he has a good quality of life, regardless of the physical challenges. The house team have been wonderful,
taking time to get to know us and Dad, giving us ideas to improve his stay and the team leaders and management very diligent and prompt in alerting us to any concerns, and in responding to any queries and requests. Recently the whole team have gone above and beyond to support us in very challenging and difficult circumstances - their advice and timely support has been so appreciated, words are not sufficient to express our gratitude. They were part of the family rallying to do the best we all can for our loved ones. Heartfelt thanks again.

After almost 3 years I have found the care provided to be consistently excellent. The regular staff have understanding of my mother's situation and needs.
The home styled accommodation is good for residents to feel more at home. The various options within the building and in the lovely garden help
to enrich daily life. The protected outside routes to the ground floor allow residents to experience natural weather and light.
Staff are consistently excellent, friendly and caring. They do build good relationships with users and know friends and family by name.
Daily routine is important to Woodside and there is a lot of freedom around this for those who can be independent within the environment. Coffee, tea etc plus pastries are available for all visitors and residents. I know local ambulance staff that arrive say Woodside is the best care environment in Warwickshire.
Food is nutritious, freely available and can be "shopped for" by residents, with support.
Good communication is helpful

The family have nothing but praise for Woodside Care Village. The facilities are excellent; cleanliness is superb and the staff are friendly and always helpful. Dad settled in extremely well, his room is spacious and comfortable. All his medical needs are taken care of and the food is great, which is
very important to Dad! The home contact us regularly and keep us well informed if Dad has any issues or requirements. It is a huge weight of my Mum's mind to know he is so well cared for.

Dad moved into Woodside Care Village in February of this year. The first experience was with Philip who was very helpful both in understanding options regarding later life care, but also specifically how to secure a residential place here for Dad. The care of the staff has been fantastic from the very
start, it's reassuring to know that Dad isn't just another resident but someone they care for individually given he has both Parkinson's and dementia as it has progressed. The guys in the flat are extremely kind, and the attention to detail (lighting, cleanliness, outside space etc) makes for a very comfortable life for him. Thank you to everyone at Woodside!

We are delighted that we chose Woodside Care Village for Mum when she started to need care as her dementia made living on her own at home impossible. We have found that all the staff have been without fail friendly and helpful. Even more importantly they are helping Mum live the best life she can and
providing invaluable support for us as a family too.

We have been extremely pleased with every aspect of my husband's care; he has company in the apartment he shares and the staff make every effort to encourage his interest in sport and films. Our family and friends are made welcome too. Staff make sure his Parkinsons's medication is given on time and
minimise his falls by constant vigilance. The general atmosphere is good and the staff are obviously happy working for WCS. Meals are nutritious and it is good that residents can choose from an extensive menu.

Our elderly relative has no close family. The trusted Adviser at Woodside Care Village helped us through the process of choosing a care home and even visited our relative with a team member to understand her needs. So far, the process has been well organised with good communications and our relative
is well cared for by kind staff. keep up the good work.

I have always found the Staff to be friendly and welcoming. Nothing ever seems to much trouble. As Mum has Dementia, she is not always easy to look after, but the staff always treat her with dignity, and have taken time to learn about her likes and dislikes, also how to divert her attention away from
what is upsetting her (usually when she has forgotten where she is).

I would like too take this opportunity too leave a review at a very difficult time for both myself & my mom. My mom suffers from dementia & it had really got too the stage that mom needed full time care. After visiting/viewing Woodside it was decided that mom would trial/respite here. It was such an
emotional time both for myself & family & off course mom. However I cannot compliment both the manager & the staff off Woodside village. From the very start they have treated mom with such sincerity, kindness & making her feel safe. All the while the manager kept me updated every step off the way. Mom has reached so many milestones already in such a short time, she eats 3 meals a day, allows staff too shower her, has fresh air daily, takes all her medication, and is building friendships. The daily singing is a huge plus for mom that's her 'happy place'
I feel confident that mom is going too be very happy at Woodside & that is down to the manager & all the staff! Thankyou

I am very satisfied with my mum being at Woodside Care Village, as I have looked after her for nine years totally on my own. I feel that she is in very good hands at Woodside, the staff are lovely and Woodside is always spotlessly clean all around the whole building.

Woodside is an excellent care home Mum has been a resident since it opened in 2019. The care staff have been consistently respectful, thoughtful and caring. They create a true family atmosphere which is welcoming and interesting for residents and gives them the confidence to live their best life in
their later life when the changes to their health might otherwise be daunting and frightening. They are an excellent team.

This care home is very good and regular staff are caring. Sometimes the agency staff are more on their phones than caring!
A large communal room would be a huge benefit to get everyone together for special occasions.
Reply from Lorraine Herbert, General Manager at Woodside Care VillageThank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We do not use any external agency staff at Woodside Care Village as we are completely staffed through our own contracted staff and our internal mobile carers. Our staff use devices that look like mobiles to enter care notes into our electronic care planning system, however, if you believe you are seeing staff using personal devices, please do make a member of the management team aware of this so we can look into it. Unfortunately, we don't have space for a large communal room, however, we do use our cafe and the plaza for events where everyone wants to come together. If you'd like something more personal there is also the garden pod that can be used for family occasions. If you have any questions, please come and speak to me or a member of my team. We're always here to help.

My mother and father were both residents at Woodside until my father’s death in October 2020. My mum continued to reside at Woodside until her death in February 2024. Without exception, management, carers, housekeeping, activities coordinators and reception treated my mum with love, care, dignity and
respect, and they did everything they could to support and care for Mum and us family, particularly in Mum’s final weeks. Mum was a much-loved member of the Woodside family, and we were treated as a family too, while we miss our beloved Mum so much, we will also miss our connection with Woodside.
I found access to the online system especially helpful as I live a distance away, and it enabled me to obtain up-to-date information on my mum, how she was, what she’d been doing, etc.

No complaints. My mum gets six visits per month from my sister and myself. Mum is always clean, dressed and happy enough. No issues/concerns me. The lady who is my mum's contact has related any concerns.
More parking spaces would be welcome.

We chose Woodside Care Village for my mum-in-law as we were so impressed by how it doesn't look like a care home. Having always said she never wanted to stay in a home, it was difficult when falls and dementia made it impossible to be cared for at home. The care given has been great and the welcome
attitude for visiting is a huge help. The lady on the desk has been super helpful and the manager has responded quickly to any concerns we have had. The music input is a massive benefit and the team supports all the residents to attend but also respects their wishes not to.

Having a relatives portal is fantastic...I can check when I'm working and can't visit. The garden is a wonderful asset and we have used it all summer. We have just been invited to spend a Christmas meal as a family. We are very pleased that this was available to choose when we needed it.

Having recently lost my mum, who was a resident at Woodside for just over three years, I thought I would write a review.
My mum went into Woodside just before the Covid outbreak, and everything shut down, it was a very difficult time and not being able to see mum was heartbreaking, when I did eventually
see her, she looked so happy and had settled very well into her new home, she was very well cared for, looked well and nicely dressed and said she loved her new house, this made me very happy and reassured me that I had made the right decision in choosing Woodside for her new home.
The staff and management were very good, kind and approachable, if I had any concerns, I came to think of them as extended family and Mum loved her time there with her little household of residents.
The set up of Woodside into small households is a wonderful concept, with the added bonus of lovely gardens and a village-type set-up. Thank you for making the last few years of my beautiful, kind mum’s life very happy.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.668)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.668) out of 10 for Woodside Care Village is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.718 for Woodside Care Village is calculated as follows: ( (160 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 213 Ratings = 4.718
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodside Care Village is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
