My Mother was a resident of Oldbury care home after a short time spent in Hospital. She was approaching the end of life and needed all her needs cared for, which was not always easy as she wasn't always compliant. The staff managed with her with patience and made her stay comfortable. We were able
to visit whenever we wished to for as long as we wished. Mum passed away a few days after her 90th Birthday. All the staff were helpful and caring. We feel she received the best care as she approached her final days.

Mum was well looked after by the very caring and kind staff at the nursing home when she went in for respite care. She was pleased with her clean spacious room with its tv. She was able to take some photos from home which staff hung on the wall for her. She was treated with dignity and respect.
Would recommend.

Since my mum moved to Oldbury House following her stroke and diagnosis of global aphasia, we have felt very reassured by the care and support she receives. She had previously been in another care home where we experienced concerns around safe keeping, so finding somewhere we can truly trust has
meant a great deal to our family.
Mum has been at Oldbury House for around six weeks now, and throughout that time the staff have consistently been kind, friendly and caring. Her room is always clean and tidy, and most importantly, she is very well looked after.
The manager has been especially helpful, understanding and approachable, always taking the time to listen and support us. We genuinely feel that the team understands my mum's individual needs and treats her with dignity and compassion.
We are very grateful for the care she is receiving and would happily recommend this home to other families.

The admin staff have been brilliant and extremely helpful when we have had to deal with red tape and administrative procedures & processes.
The nursing team are very friendly and approachable and our relative is cared for with compassion and understanding and is treated with respect.

My mum has been with the home for respite care for about a month. The staff and manager were extremely welcoming on our arrival and have really worked hard to help mum settle into her new surroundings. As a patient with dementia, the care staff have shown care and compassion to both my mum as the
resident as well as my Dad as they adjust to mum staying at the care home.

I am pleased with my father's care as it really cannot be very easy at all for staff & they are very good & kind to dad. I know that he is being well looked after & I appriciate every thing that each & everyone of the staff do for him. I would recommend this home to anyone that needs
to be cared for.

My Nan has been a resident here for nearly two years now, and we honestly couldn't be happier with the care she receives. She is very happy and content, which means everything to our family.
The staff are incredibly person-centred and always promote Nan's independence, supporting her in a way that
maintains her dignity and individuality. It's clear they genuinely care about the residents and take the time to understand them as people.
The activities team are absolutely amazing - there is always something going on to keep residents engaged and entertained. They regularly organise musicians to come in and sing, which Nan especially enjoys. It's wonderful to see so much effort put into creating a lively and positive atmosphere.
The new manager, Danielle, has also made a fantastic impression. She is polite, informative, and friendly, and she takes the time to speak to Nan and other residents whenever she is passing. That personal touch really makes a difference.

From the moment moved in to Oldbury House I felt an instant relief with the level of care and compassion the team showed her. Mum was/still is unable to speak clearly but the staff are so kind and patient and with time they have grown with her and are able to understand mum.
The team work
relentlessly hard. They are passionate and it is obvious to see they truely care about the residents. It's is like an extended family. When we visit it feels like a home. The team have become our friends.
In addition to daily care and needs of the residents the team go over & beyond to help vary everyone's day with various entertainment, theropy dogs etc lead by Sarah and Julie. They work so hard to keep everyone stimulated with the added touch of their nuttiness This is extended the residents that are bed bound so no one is left out.
The kitchen staff are also amazing and can accommodate any specify needs if required.
Overall I am very happy in the knowledge that my mum is safe and happy

My father was moved to Oldbury House at the beginning of January after a long stay in hospital. From the moment he arrived he has received excellent care from staff who are compassionate and thoughtful, and take the time to consider the individual needs of the resident. This understanding has led to
my father settling in incredibly quickly and he himself has commented that he is well and enjoys the food. That said, it is apparent that the home would benefit from some investment to improve some of the facilities.
The activities that the home arranges have been fabulous, and I have seen how well the residents respond, and that is down to the enthusiasm and understanding that the staff have with their residents. This goes across all staff groups as well and I have been so pleased with how welcoming and accommodating they all are. This has been the best move I could have asked for and that is down to the management of the home and the staff who personalise care and are all first rate.

My father has been living at Oldbury House for nearly a year, and he's extremely happy. It was the best thing we did is bring him here. He loves it and so does his extended family. Thank you so much to the staff and assistants.

My father moved into the home for respite initially and this has now become his new home.
His dementia ment the move was quite difficult for him but the care and support of the management and carers helped dad and us through this transition period
Dad is now settled on Victoria where all
residents appear happy.
The entertainment ladies do a fantastic job considering the area they have to cover.
Care staff are hard working but at times seem over stretched.
If I had to be negative about anything it would be that the diet for diabetics maybe needs to be monitored a bit more closely.

Since our mother moved into Oldbury House, during the COVID period, we have found communications to be good and staff very welcoming. Our mother is content, is well cared for and her needs know. Our mother used to have a dog, staff love dogs, and when we asked if we could bring our dogs in to see
her, this was not a problem to see her. When we have had a concern, we were confident in raising it with the appropriate staff, were listened to and were reassured or had the concern acted upon to a successful outcome. We are, therefore, happy to recommend Oldbury House.

My mother stayed at Oldbury for two-plus years. The care from the staff went above and beyond duty. The home is full of loving staff and is kept clean and tidy. The family was always kept informed of the activities that was put in place for the residents. So we could join in with them. Seasonal fun
and games days out always fun.

My dad spent about 6 weeks at Oldbury House arriving with a healed ulcer, able to walk with assistance and suffering bouts of confusion. At discharge he was tearful, begging to come home, more confused, unable to stand or walk and the ulcer reopened. His belongings were damaged by other residents.
Labelled clothing and personal effects were lost. Dad was frequently dressed in ill-fitting clothing that did not belong to him. Staff communication was poor and impossible to contact by phone or even open the door. He was discharged without medication or catheter bags despite the home having his supplies.
Staffing levels were poor given resident acuity thus Dad was left unoccupied for long periods in a cold bedroom. He was not offered any meaningful activity or help mobilising beyond basic hygiene care.
Positives - food and cleanliness plus some lovely staff. Very disturbed residents were managed reasonably. Otherwise little to recommend especially for anyone with primarily physical needs.

I have had a super experience here. It has been a real pleasure. Everyone was so kind and helpful! I would recommend anyone to stop here. The food was very good, I was very comfortable and well looked after. They couldn't do enough for me. Thank you so much.

My nan was a resident in the Adelaide unit for about 8 months after a very awful experience in another care home. We were so happy to have found a lovely caring home for Nan, she was so happy requesting endless cups of tea, staff dancing in her room to her record player and making her laugh and of
course her knitting they would help untangle on many occasions. She enjoyed the outside entertainment she loved a good old singsong. The home couldn’t do enough for her and us as a family. To the manager, we can’t thank you enough for the quick turnaround and for getting Nan into Oldbury House. Nan spent the last few months of her life truly happy and treated like a queen.
