View Full Details of Chatsworth Lodge Care HomeMy wife was in care at this care home from 03/09/2025 to 20/10/2025. During this time I felt she was looked after very well, hence my high ratings. Would definitely use this facility again.
My first views of Chatsworth Lodge care home is very homely and accommodating. The staff are very helpful and considerate. The security is excellent to ensure the residents are all taken care of. The food is top quality and always choices for a variable diet.
Mother's transition into care has been a traumatic experiences. This was due to poor and slow council actions. The care home, however, was understanding of the issues. Care has been prompt, kind and appropriate, especially when she was ill.
On all my visits to my sister, she's been fine and happy. The staff are attentive when needed. They go beyond even when I come, I'm made welcome and fed.
Very well looked after, happy, good food and staff very nice. Everything is clean. Really happy with everything. Auntie has no complaints.
My mum is very well looked after and we are very happy with the care she receives. Although security is very important, sometimes we find it difficult to get in and out of the nursing home. My mum has a room downstairs and sometimes, although we know staff are always busy. We struggle to get out of the security door and when upstairs we have to wait to get out of the main door.
There is always a warm and friendly welcome when I visit a friend at this home. Residents can stay in their rooms if they wish or be with others in the sitting room or conservatory which overlooks the garden. There is a good mix of activities for those who wish to join in. Management and staff do their very best for everyone. Carers are always busy looking after someone. So the only negative is that my friend sometimes has to wait for them to answer her requests for the toilet when she needs it. All in all a lovely atmosphere at this home.
Always a nice welcome from staff, residents are cared for and given attention. Communal areas are not over crowded. Residents are allowed to sit where they like. There are no lingering smells and residents are clean.
Mum only moved into the home on 16th December 2024. She seems to have settled well. The room is spacious and clean (bedroom). Staff have been helpful and welcoming. The care home is clean, tastefully decorated and a welcoming environment.
Dad is cared for very well by Chatsworth Lodge Care Home. The manager is a very good manager and getting the staff organised.
All the staff have been really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I can tell they genuinely care about the residents. Nanna seems really happy here and it puts all our minds at ease.
The care and attention is excellent. The staff are friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and always a choice. Residents are treated with dignity. There is always a range of activities where residents can be involved as much as they want. We have no worries about the care my mother receives.
My sister was a resident of Chatsworth Lodge Care Home for two years. Throughout that time, she was treated with care, dignity and respect. Although her initial reaction to going into a care home was one of the great reluctance, she was made to feel welcome, safe and secure. She often said she loved being there and the entire family are grateful for the dedicated care she received in her time in the home, many thanks.
Neglected my dad after being in respite, my dad was not showered or bathed for a month. My dad had a water infection the first week and was treated twice but not administered antibiotics correctly and completely. I had to alert the managers three times about my dad's urine being dark. They ignored my concerns and made excuses to why they couldn't get a water sample I got the sample twice myself. With delays in his care needs and basic fluids my dad came home and had emergency care ambulance for dehydration and check for sepsis. My dads dementia has deteriorated and delirium has been ongoing since. Stay was from September 17th until 7th November. Paracetamol wasn't given when clearly unwell. GP prescribed it, they wouldn't give it because dad's temperature had come down after I gave him my paracetamol, and the same day the GP prescribed them. They just didn't seem concerned at all. Poor medication administration and lack of consistency with care. Food poor, no fruit, small portions.
This was Mum's first experience of respite care which was on the whole pretty good. The care home manager was brilliant in welcoming Mum and was always willing to answer any questions. The staff were mostly friendly, my only issue was it sometimes took a while to take Mum to the toilet when she needed it but I understand that there were lots of other residents to look after too. Overall a good experience.
First impressions count and from when I first viewed the home I was not disappointed. It's always been my Mum's worst nightmare to go into a home but she's brighter, no longer lonely, joins in or watches activities, and has even been taken out to the local supermarket shopping. The rooms are bright, the lounge is arranged with groups of seating areas (not in one big circle) and the conservatory and garden are a bonus. The best compliment is to all the staff simply amazing. Nothing is too much trouble - definitely the home's best asset.
My partner had respite care in Chatsworth Lodge. I was impressed with all the staff. They had the residents care all the time which is brilliant. He enjoyed all the activities which were well organised. He loved the food and snacks. He said he felt at home and he settled down well. A big thank you.
The care home is managed with a professional and good approach supported by a care team of dedicated carers with a variety of responsibilities - from cleaning, cooking, medical, and general daily tasks. These are all undertaken with a focus on my Mum's dignity and overall care, with an additional sense of humour, respect, and genuine care for her best interests. I feel confident that the staff cares for Mum with 100% commitment and that she is settled and well looked after despite her dementia deterioration.
This place treats all residents with care and compassion and the staff go out of their way to look after all the residents. All the staff have boundless energy to care for all. The food in this place is good. Makes sure all have a very good experience.
