View full details of Shakti LodgeMy dad was here in October for respite and has not left. He is now permanent (his words). We as a family have no complaints at all which Shakti Lodge food is excellent staff very caring. Cleaning is always good. It is what it says home from home dad is so happy here. He came in Shakti Lodge needing a lot of TLC and he has got it. Nicola as a manager is great and well always be available for a chat. Nothing is too much trouble.
My mum has been a resident at Shakti Lodge since October 2021. Over the years she has been so well cared. The staff know the residents as individuals, their quirks and likes and dislikes. There is very little turnover of staff which in itself speaks volumes for the management of the home. Nicola (manager) took time to talk me through the end-of-life protocols recently when mums health declined and ensured that everything was in place just in case it was required over the festive season. The staff ensured that mum was made part of the Christmas dinner celebrations, supporting her to get down to the lounge even for a short time as they did not want her to miss out. My mum passed away last Saturday and I cannot express in words the kindness shown by the staff. They cared for my mum with respect and dignity throughout and I will be forever grateful to them all. I would 100% recommend Shakti Lodge to anyone looking for a loved one. It meant so much knowing she was always loved and safe.
Mum was resident at Shakti Lodge from February 2025 until she sadly passed away last Sunday. The care at Shakti was outstanding throughout. Every member of staff looked after Mum like she was family. There is genuine love and care here. The staff all work together really well- they are a strong team. There was virtually no turnover of staff so they really knew all the residents individually and respected their likes/dislikes. Such staff stability shows how well the home runs. When Mum had her last decline and was in hospital I couldn't wait to get her back to the home where I had total confidence in her care. I was always welcome and felt very cared for and supported especially in her last days. If you are looking for a home and you are lucky enough to find there is a vacancy, grab it with both hands. I cannot recommend Shakti enough, your loved one will get the best care possible - both day and night.
My Dad has been in Shakti Lodge since September 2024 & I have absolutely no complaints about the Home or the Staff , who are all fantastic . Even down to taking him out fishing for the day which is something he always enjoyed which is going far beyond what you would expect from a care home.
My mum joined Shakti Lodge in August this year. I wanted to look after my mum at home but as her dementia advanced it became impossible. It was the best thing for my mum she has settled in so well. The staff are amazing so caring and attentive. They do so many activities which my mum loves doing especially the boxercise she loves it. The management are lovely so approachable anytime and so helpful. I am so grateful my mum was placed in Shakti Lodge I don't think there is a better home and its all the staff that makes it so good and cannot thank them enough
Mum has been a esident at Shakti Lodge for the last 4 years, and the staff and manager really look after her, especially as she can no longer walk and suffers with her memory. Shakti Lodge provide a large number of activies for the residents, which Mum really enjoys, and even provided a small party in a side room for my neice's 18th birthday so Mum wasn't left out of the celebrations. Mum enjoys being at Shakti Lodge and we really appreciate the care provided.
It may be small, but it Shakti lodge s a brilliant care home compared with national providers. Mother has been there several years, the care and attention she gets gets better and better - and it was good when she first arrived! Staff genuinely care about the residents, and nothing is too much trouble. Great entertainment program and freshly prepared meals on site, caring staff, all led by a dedicated, inspirational manager
My mother has been in shakti lodge since April 2025. The level of care is second to none. The home is always immaculately clean. The staff are lovely with mum. They alway have time for everyone. She goes out with the staff from time to time. She has regular activities. Overall she is happier and above all safe. Big thank you to everyone there for all you do for mum. Kind regards Andy(son)
My mother, now 97 years old, has been a resident at Shakti Lodge since October 2023 when with frailty increasing she was unable to live safely alone. Initially she contributed nicely to care home life, interacting with other residents and staff and participating in activities. Gradually her care needs increased and the Shakti team adapted well as she needed more personal care with increasing frailty and dementia diagnosis. Throughout this period GP and district nurse medical support, co-ordinated by the Home was excellent. Recently she was admitted to hospital with serious diabetes complications. Now discharged for EOL care the Shakti Team have responded magnificently with oodles of love and care, and encouragement to take nutrition when able. AS a family we could not have wished for better during Mum's two year journey from an elderly 95 year old with moderate needs to the tenderness of EOL care. All credit to Nicola the manager and the team around her.
The care home is absolutely amazing , all staff go beyond on a daily basis . The kindness and compassion and respect they give to each resident is outstanding nothing is to much trouble . They do a wide range of activities on a daily basis encouraging every resident to join in and enjoy then feed back to their families what they have done along with pictures showing your loved ones having a lovely time. A lovely range of food is offered and they always encourage the residents to eat . I honestly cannot fault one single thing , I'm so happy my mum gets to be part of what feels like an extended family .
Excellent all round choice, The manager is very approachable and helpful, good with mum and knows her stuff, I only wish this is where mum went after a fall, we had to move her and Shakti staff made it very easy, mum is so much better at Shakti I cannot recommend it enough, there are so many positive things I could put here on this review in favour of Shakti but to be honest there isn't enough characters to type them. If you are thinking of sending a parent/friend rest assured it's very homely and they have many activities for the elderly and come across in such a caring manner. I have seen I real difference in my mum in such a short space of time, can't recommend enough in comparison to other homes in the local area. It's such a challenging time when searching for a care home for a loved one. Thankyou to Shakti and the staff for making my mums move as smooth as it could have been.
Shakti Lodge is an amazing place, such care and love is shown to all, there's always activities taking place from all inclusive bingo, art/craft activities to baking especially with national and world celebrations, making croissants, cakes, cookies. Other activities are boxercise sourced from outside. They have been so supportive regarding my mother, they are so easy to correspond with. Nicola the care home manager is so supportive. I can not express the gratitude for my mum being placed at Shakti Lodge.
Mum is really happy living at Shakti Lodge. She has full freedom to do as she pleases. She can join in with activities. She is well looked after, enjoys the food, lovely caring staff. The manager is a fantastic manager which shows in how well the home is run Well done.
My dad spent the last three years of his life in Shakti Lodge. For that time, it became his home and it felt like home. I think that was helped in part by the relatively small number of residents there but also by the friendly atmosphere created by the attitude of the staff and manager. He was well cared for throughout, even on his more difficult days when he didn't feel like getting up, fortunately these days were few. Most weeks I visited, he would be sitting in his familiar place out in the cheery lounge, able to see people around him. He often remarked about the good food and the kindness of the staff. As a family, we will be forever grateful to all members of staff who played such a vital part of his care. Thank you.
I have a friend who is a resident of Shakti Lodge. He is not always the easiest person, in fact, at times, he has been extremely difficult. I have been very impressed with the level of patience, compassion and sensitivity the management and staff have shown. Thankfully, things are much more settled now.
I have been a resident here since 12-6-23, and so far, I am pleased with Shakti Lodge Care Home to date.
My mum is very settled here. The best thing about the care home is the friendly and sociable atmosphere. The staff are always happy and jolly. They arrange all sorts of events and are keen to celebrate anything, going from National Mexican day to Royal celebrations. The garden is lovely, as I often sit outside with my mum. Would definitely recommend this home.
My mum has been at Shakti Lodge for four weeks now and since we first entered the staff have been so kind, so friendly and always welcoming and very attentive to all the residents. My mum loves it there. It is clean, bright and roomy. The feeling there is like you are part of one big family. They do daily activities and trips out. I am so happy my mum is there, knowing she is looked after so well by very caring and friendly staff.
Mum is very well cared for. She is happy and calm always clean and tidy whenever I pop in. Shakti Lodge feels like their own home. A home from home with caring cheerful staff. From what I’ve seen all the residents are cared for with dignity and love.
We had to find a care home for my mum when she was no longer able to live on her own. The manager of this home is really helpful, and we have been so happy with our choice. The home is run really well, and it feels like you are part of one big family. All the staff have been kind and friendly. Whenever I visit, I have always felt welcomed. We have been impressed with the range of activities that are provided for the residents, including day trips out. The home is always really clean, and it also has a well-kept garden outside, which is nice to sit in on sunny days. My mum said that she feels happy and safe there. That's all I want for my mum - to be happy. I would highly recommend this care home.
