The whole team do an amazing job especially having so many residents. My husband is completely bed bound so sadly not able to enjoy activities. We've received a warm welcome and always greeted with a smile & hello. My only wish is that hubby's TV be kept on during the day as he is unable to use a
remote. Thanks to the whole team.

standard.

We came across Charlton Court as a family through recommendations from friends and colleagues who are nurses, and had experience of visiting the home professionally as well as another who's mother resided there until her death in the summer of 2025. We were not initially considering even visiting
the home due to mixed reviews on this forum. We are so glad we did arrange a visit. From the moment we stepped into the home we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us around and took time to answer our questions and to explain how they would be able to more than accommodate for my mother's care needs. It was a huge decision to move mam into Charlton Court and it was a very emotional time for all of us - but the staff were incredibly understanding and compassionate with all of us.
Not enough space here to tell you about all the amazing things that go on there and just how dedicated and caring all of the staff are. Don't scroll past this place - go see for yourself!!

My Mum was a resident at Charlton Court for over a year. She died on 11th July 2025 and I stayed with her in the care home towards the latter stages. The staff were absolutely amazing. Mum stopped eating for about 8 days but would still ask for food but then couldn't eat it. Then she stopped
drinking but would still ask for a cup of tea and again, the staff would get tea - never complaining that it was a waste of time. Towards my Mum's end of life the staff were simply exemplary. They were so kind, compassionate and caring. The way my Mum was cared for has allowed me to grieve, knowing that my Mum had a good death. She was adamant that she didn't want to go to hospital, so she died in her preferred place of care, surrounded by the people (carers and nurses) that she trusted implicitly.

I arrived at Charlton Court having been moved out of a respite flat. My initial response was shock that I was moving from a flat to a single room. Something I struggled with throughout my stay, the main issue was having gone from having my own bathroom to having to leave my room to have a shower.
Since my stroke, I can only use one hand and have to carry my towel, shower gel and other things whilst attempting to retain my dignity. I don't think I've had more than 2 hours of sleep each night due to noises throughout the night, which is to be expected given the nature of the home. Every member of staff has been excellent.

Each individual member of staff demonstrated a high level of compassion towards my mother and myself. This was from the management team, nurses, carers, domestic and maintenance staff. I was always greeted warmly and any problems were dealt with. Staff took time to find out what my mum was like, her
preferences and dislikes. They managed her sensory overload when being cared for with respect, kindness and creativity. Mum's end of life was amongst people who were kind and who cared.

I have been very happy with the care my mum has received. The staff, including care staff, nursing and domestic staff are all amazing. The relationships that have developed with Mum and with myself are wonderful and have given me great confidence that Mum is cared for and loved here. Mum was very
unwell but is now improving ad I'm sure this is down to the care she receives.

I wish I could score -10 & feel deeply sorry for anyone looking at using this care home in the future. Please do your research and avoid. Had we known about all of the existing issues & complaints we later found out about in the press and online we would not have sent our mum here to be neglected in
the space of the 18 hours she stayed there to later result in her death. The paramedics and hospital staff raised a safeguarding concern over this aswell. My mum had terminal cancer so we know she was going to die we understood this, but an Internal nurse and an external doctor who worked here point blank refused my mum care when I asked for help on 2 occasions and I believe this ultimately had a major impact on her dying the way she did later that day at hospital. I called an ambulance they had no hurry about them after they refused to help her when she couldn't breathe & then the dr realised she would be complained about and tried to be all apologetic and fake concerned. Should be ashamed

Excellent care given by nurses. Cannot fault their commitment, its second to none.

Do not put your relative in here. Put my Mother-in-law in for two weeks respite and the biggest mistake ever made. She suffers from Dementia and was not given the support required to meet her needs. The place is badly run and chaotic. Rooms are badly in need of updating and total lack of managerial
organisation. Was so pleased to get her moved to a better place that is properly run.

My mam was in Charlton Court Care Home from April 2022 until 10th June 2023. Over the period my mam stayed with you, she was well looked after. The staff were very kind to her and they kept her bedding and room the way she liked. I went to see Mam every day and got to know the staff well. They
helped me cope in her last few weeks. I would recommend Charlton Court to place their loved one in this home.

My mam was admitted into Charlton Court Care Home for palliative care in November 2022, I can honestly say the care, respect and support from all the staff was truly amazing. The manager has a whole team of kind professionals who go above and beyond. This was an extremely hard and emotional time for
us all as a family, however, we felt that Charlton Court was the best place for our mam. The manager leads by example which is refreshing to see. It’s a lovely place for loved ones which I’d highly recommend.
Thank you for looking after our beautiful mam until the end.

I would just like to express my sincere gratitude to your entire staff for the care and kindness shown to my partner in his final weeks of life. The moment he entered Charlton Court the difference was clear to see, he was out of pain, calmer, happier, and safe. We as a family were going through the
worst time of our lives but the staff at Charlton Court made it easier with their kind words, and helpfulness, nothing was too much trouble. The home is definitely one big happy family. Thank you again.
