Mum has had a few changes in her capacity and health in the last couple of months and the Team at Barford Court have been fantastic. They have been very kind, responsive and extremely professional. They have ensured that appointments, investigations and medications have been accessed really quickly so we could eliminate possible causes and treat actual ones. After a fall, mum said she found herself surrounded by about 6 carers, she was checked out, added to the gp medical round and is currently being monitered regularly. The caring is very loving and it helps me as I live a couple of hours away.
Barford Court is an amazing Care Home. The staff are caring and clearly understand how important it is to give the best care and support to the residents. Mum has been here for over two years and very happy. It is important that I can walk away knowing Mum is being looked after how I would care for her. This is definitely Mums home.
Impressive standard of care + kindness towards residents who appear to be treated with great respect and dignity by all members of staff. The food looks excellent + residents clearly enjoy their meals and snacks. There appears to be plenty of staff who are readily available to help residents. The level of participation in activities (which are varied + plentiful), seems high + most residents are engaged.
My wife Pamela has for some time been quite poorly, having broken legs and dementia, she was a long way from being "well" however my family rallied round and arranged for Pamela to go into a care home for 4 weeks mainly to give me a "break". When it was time to come home, she was so happy there, and with no pressure on her agreed to stay permanently where she has been since. The Home is very much like a first-class hotel with all the facilities you could think of. Food is plentiful. Entertainment is excellent; various "trips out". Since Pamela has been in the care home she has "come on in leaps and bounds" and I am so grateful we found something that has improved her health & well being.
My Dad has been at Barford Court for about a year now. Moving him into a care home was a difficult but necessary decision and I would be lying if I said I was certain that Barford Court was the right fit for him to start off with. However, it didn't take long for any fears to be alleviated. It has a calm and caring ethos, and it is clear that the residents are treated as individuals. All of the staff are lovely and I am confident that my Dad is well cared for at Barford Court.
I have found the staff at Barford Court very caring people who have so much patience and respect the privacy of the residents.
Barford looked after my mum for two and half years. This was her home and right until the end she had excellent care. Even when things got really difficult with Mum, everyone at Barford including the care team, house keeping, maintenance and even visiting activity teams were kind and patient. Barford supported us as a family and allowed me to be a daughter again. In the last week of her life I could stay at Barford, with Mum and this is so precious to me. The staff were amazing and took care of everything so I could just be with Mum. Thankyou all.
My mother is about to have her 98th birthday, by which time she will have lived in Barford Court for eight years. She is happy there and has always been treated wtih respect and dignity. The care and level of training are outstanding. Each week, residents are offered a full range of activities. Relatives are made to feel welcome and often take part in these alongside their loved ones. The management and the different teams wtihin the home are excellent. they are open and visible and offer regular support and advice to us. They put every effort into making the home a comfortable and enjoyable place in which to live and work.
Both my Parents are in care and they are very well looked after. It has been difficult transition for them but are settling in well and the staff have been very supportive and patient. It has been a great relief for me to know there are being looked after 24/7 and I no longer need to worry about something happening and no-one being around to help like when there were on their own in the house.
My aunt receives excellent care. The staff are all dedicated and professional, the Home is always spotless and the provision of activities for the residents is impressive. We receive regular updates on her progress and on the issues facing the Home which are always addressed with vigour. She is very comfortable and socialises well with fellow-residents and staff. We are always treated with courtesy and professionally when we make telephone calls or when we visit.

Our Mum has been resident at Barford Court for 16 months and I thank Gavin and his friendly capable professional team for the round-the-clock care they provide all residents. There's a varied programme of events that engage and entertain residents in the home year-round, and any concerns we have for Mum's health and comfort are addressed promptly.
My Dad has been In Barford Court for 5 years, I call him once a week as I live in Devon and visit whenever I can, the staff are always welcoming and I know that my Dad is very comfortable and happy and well looked after, it is always very clean and tidy
We are very happy with the continuing care at Barford Court. Our mother was taken ill suddenly and the staff looked after her and us wonderfully, keeping in touch whilst she was in hospital and making everything ready for her comfort and care when she returned home. She is so well looked after and supported, I have no doubt that we made the right choice when we chose Barford Court for her needs.
The care Dad receives is of the highest quality. His switch from living alone to being a permanent resident has been made so much easier with the help and kindness of all the staff. I can't thank everyone enough for making this happen so smoothly.
I wanted to send my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Barford Court. As a family, we were apprehensive about the prospect of Dad needing additional care. But from the moment we saw BC, it became our home too. My young children called it "Pop's Hotel" - they could see that it was a haven for him. As Dad's health declined and we knew the end was near, you opened your home and your hearts to us even more. The last four days of Dad's life was spent by his bedside: reminiscing, listening to music, crying and laughing. We were able to surround him with the love he had so selflessly shown us all our lives. You gave the five of us, the space and freedom to be with him however we needed to be. EVERY member of staff here showed us such care, reassurance and guidance. Most importantly, we could see how much Dad meant to you all. You cared for Dad with dignity and love. THANK YOU
My mother moved into Barford Court at the end of February following a period of reduced mobility meaning at age 95 she could no longer live in her own home. She was fiercely independent and this was a huge move for her however the way in which she was welcomed, supported and cared for during what became the last four months of her life was exemplary. Everyone from the team leaders to the amazing carers, admin team and those cleaning/doing the laundry are professional, dedicated and caring and supported my mother in a very light touch /maximum care way that was pitched perfectly. As gradually more support was needed they were there every step of the way and since I visited almost every day I saw the home in all its guises and every one of them was excellent in terms of the care provided and their thoughtfulness at difficult times. I could not recommend Barford Court and their fabulous team more highly and will be forever grateful for everything they did for my mother.
Our father has resided at Barford Court for 2 years, the home is well run, welcoming and spacious, with lovely gardens. There is good continuity of staff and all staff are kind caring and responsive to our father's and everyone's needs, treating all with respect and dignity. The activity programme is varied and thoughtful, with outdoor outings included. The housekeeping team do a great job keeping the home and laundry clean and the catering team provide a variety of food which Dad enjoys. Thank you everyone at Barford Court.
Barford Court is clean, spacious and well maintained in a grand Art deco building on the seafront, wrapped around with gardens in a convenient central Hove location. There are lots of facility's for the residents to enjoying. My mother is reviving good care tailored to her needs as her condition progresses. It's has taken weight of my mind knowing she is in good hands and a big thank you to all staff at Barford Court for their support with the demands of a loved one with Alzheimer's.
