The team at Abbey View put so much time and effort into activities for the residents. Yesterday was a garden party for King Charles' birthday. It was lovely afternoon, and good to be able to take my parents in law out into the garden to enjoy it. There was obviously such a lot of thought and
attention to detail involved, an excellent spread, and the staff were, as always, kind, helpful, friendly and attentive. A really nice occasion.

I come into Abbey View weekly to do intergenerational storytelling with the residents. I love the family orientated atmosphere in this care home. My observation is that all the staff care for the residents, they tend to their needs with care and respect. I feel they try to ensure that every need and
request is attended to. The residents were spoken to politely and with tenderness that shows compassion. I would and have recommended Abbey View as a care home. My comment is that if needed a care home for myself or family then I would choose Abbey View.

I found the care mum received was respectful and friendly. It was a very big change when mum went into residential care at 94 years, but the staff encouraged her gently to integrate with home life.
Family were always made to feel welcome and kept updated with her health and well being.
In her
final few weeks she was treated with respect and dignity

My sister entered Abbey View Care Home due to a debilitating disease which prevented her from remaining in her own home.
She would have preferred to continue living in her own home but realising that it would be dangerous for her she made the decision to enter Abbey View.
She was happy at Abbey
View and was cared for exceptionally well until her final passing due to her deterioration from the disease that she had.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire team for the exceptional care provided to my mother-in-law. From the moment she arrived at Abbey View, we have been constantly impressed by the warm, friendly atmosphere within the home. The staff go above and beyond to create a welcoming
environment for families as well, which makes such a difference. It is clear that my mother-in-law is treated with genuine kindness, dignity and respect.
The quality and choice of food is excellent, and it is reassuring to know that my mother-in-law is enjoying nutritious, well prepared meals every day. More importantly, she is well cared for - which is so important to us.
Thank you for your dedication, hard work and genuine care. We are so thankful my mother-in-law is with you.

The staff at Abbey View have been brilliant all the way round. We experienced a warm, friendly and welcoming environment, from our initial contact through to the end of dad's stay. Nothing has been too much trouble. The care and attention that he has received has been second to none. The staff have
spent time helping him to gain confidence to walk and improve his mobility so that he could return home as quickly as possible.
For my sister and I, Abbey View has given us excellent support, telling to relieve concerns following his immediate post op weeks - Thank you!

My mother is very happy and exceptionally well looked after in this lovely home. It is friendly, clean, caring and mum has made new friends with common interests. She feels she is part of a community again, a feeling she thought she had lost as her mobility in her own home declined. Abbey View has
restored her confidence and given her joy in her life again, if not quite literally a spring in her step. With good food, new friends and great care, it has been wonderful to see mum's mental health and physical health improve. Thank you, Abbey View

Mum has been living in Abbey View for 2 1/2 year ages 95 years. Most recently, breast cancer was caught in the early stage by a very diligent nurse at the home. The loss of mum's walking mobility means she has to rely on excellent nursing staff for personal needs. We find the staff very welcoming,
kind and helpful. Food is delicious thanks to an excellent chef. WE note staff working very hard and provide high standard of service. Staff are happy to listen and help at all times, finding a more comfy chair for mum. Good nursing support for mum going to hospital appointments. We feel greatly reassured that mum is well looked after with vital support, which gives peace mind. We thank you for all you do.

Abbey View have been immensely kind and helpful during a difficult period.
The entire experience has been professionally handled, and with great ease, from admission onwards. One thing stands out, however, which is the staff. Everyone has been courteous, caring and friendly. We could not ask for
more, thank you.

My mother was a resident at Abbeyview from January 2024 until January 2026. She moved into the home a year after our father died. Mum and Dad had been married for 60 years.
Mum was very anxious about moving into Abbeyview. She had the early onset of dementia and her mobility was limited. However,
the team at Abbeyview made her very welcome, helped her make friends and took great care of her as her dementia progressed. This excellent level of care was maintained right up to Mum's passing.

I have spent over 3 years at Abbey View and have found a consistent level of excellent care from many dedicated staff. And in the last few weeks of my wife's life, the care and attention devoted to her was second to none. I could not wish for better.

After visiting my parents at Abbey View for almost a year, I have been impressed by the caring and welcoming atmosphere. Residents and visitors are treated as individuals, and staff are almost exclusively long-term members of a high performing team.
During his final illness and subsequent death,
my father was treated with great dignity and compassion. Staff remained on duty after the end of their shift to ensure continuity of care and empathic support for his wife of nearly seventy years, as well as members of his immediate family.

It is difficult to portray in words just how wonderful this home is. I put my mother here for respite back in January and she has stayed here ever since. What makes this home so wonderful is the staff who are amazing. Every member of staff is happy and always willing to help, regardless of their
official role and what is being asked. The staff and the home have a real family feel. When something is happening with mother, such as a hospital appointment, every member of staff knows who I am and what is happening with my mother. This is a reflection of the communication amongst the staff and it really shows. I have seen newer more expensive homes where the staff isnt such a positive. This is one of, if not the, best home I have seen. Anyone looking for a home for an elderly relative, whether for respite or permanent residency, will be very hard pressed to find anywhere as good as Abbey View

I came in for four weeks as my family were all away at the same time and they do my shopping/washing etc. If I was here, they would not worry. I know most of the staff as I take a Bible study group once a fortnight and also several residents. Also, my mother was here 10 years. I had a wonderful
welcome, which continued throughout the four weeks. The staff was so caring and attentive. The food was excellent and varied. I slept well and made good friends. There is such a warm, friendly atmosphere here.
19 May 2025
In my search for a good care home for my older sister, my priorities were to look for a home that was rated highly by, the CQC and where the staff showed kindness, compassion and good nursing care. In addition the home had to be comfortable, well furnished and with a good atmosphere.
I was struck
by the warm welcome I received in reception and throughout the home. The staff in their distinct uniform to indicate their roles, are a very united team who treat a resident with dignity, make them feel nothing is too much trouble.
