My sister has a been a resident at Hazelgrove Nursing Home for just over a year.
Emma and all her staff are professional, kind, caring and patient. My sister is cared for twenty four hours a day.
The carers and nursing staff help my sister with all her needs, patiently and calmly talking to her,
making sure she is comfortable. I am always made to feel welcome when I visit. I can see how much individual staff feel about my sister, in the way they talk to her and make her laugh.
I can't thank Emma and all the staff enough for all they do for my sister. I wouldn't want my sister to be anywhere else. Nowhere could care for her more than Emma and her fantastic, caring team.

My brother has been a resident at Hazelgrove for 2 years and during this time he has always been very well cared for. When we visit him we are always aware that there is plenty of staff at every level carrying out the exceptional work of caring for their residents. We know he is very well cared
for and has everything that he could possibly need. Hazelgrove gives out a very warm and welcoming atmosphere when you enter the building.

My dad was in Hazelgrove from January to end April 2026 and he couldn't have received better care than he got. The staff are very kind and very patient. He made lovely relationships with all of the staff and they genuinely cared greatly for him. He had a lovely connection with Emma (the manager)
who showed real warmth and kindness towards him.
The home itself needs a little TLC but hopefully that is in the pipeline.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hazelgrove to anyone who has a relative in need of respite or permanent care.

This is a well organised establishment led by an experienced and trusted manager who leads by example to guide staff & encourage them to carry out their care responsibilities to a consistently high standard. Staff have regular training days to ensure their skills are relevant & are developed to keep
areas of modern care requirements. All staff are keen to provide a high standard of personal attention to the separate needs of those who are under their attention and are able to extend their knowledge to the relatives of the residents in a sympathetic manner.

I cannot praise the manager and her wonderful dedicated team enough from the nurses, carers and domestic staff. My mum went to Hazelgrove in September 2024 and was there until Jan this year where she passed away. My mum could not have received better care. I also have to add that the last couple of
weeks of my mums life I received such wonderful care and understanding and compassion from the staff. I was there a lot and observed the staff and the way they cared for and interacted with my mum and other residents. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My mother has been at Hazel Grove for a year and a half, after a long stay in hospital. Two other patients at the hospital also moved to Hazel Grove at the same time, and I have seen a very positive change in all of them. The whole team are incredibly accommodating and caring. I visited almost 30
care homes before my mum moved here, this manager was the first manager who spoke about my mum with genuine care and consideration. She is also the only manager I came across who has a nursing background, which I believe makes a difference. My requests are always welcomed and the communication about my mum's care needs is very good. The layout of the care home is excellent, the decor updates have been really positive. I feel that my mum is safe here, this means the world to me. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident at Hazelgrove since 2021. Her dementia has steadily progressed meaning that she is now non-verbal and needs to be hoisted whenever she's moved. This means that she requires constant care. She's unable to do anything for herself, but the staff and management at
Hazelgrove have been absolutely brilliant. She is so well cared for and always appears to be happy and smiling, unless, of course, she's sleeping, which she does do a lot!
Her room is bright and welcoming with her personal pictures and family photos on display. The room is always clean and tidy.
In the last twelve months, there has been a great deal of work carried out in the home with a much enlarged and improved communal/entertainment area which provides a great area for the residents to play games and join in activities that are organised daily.
All of the staff are caring and do their best to make Mum's life as comfortable as it can be, they have my heartfelt appreciation.

My mother is currently residing at Hazelgrove and my father was a resident as well until he passed in 2020. It was due to the excellent care that he received from everyone on the team there, that the family decided to place Mum here. The genuine care shown by the staff extends to the whole family as
well, which at times is most welcome. They really do interact constantly with residents and they all have a good knowledge of the individual needs of each resident. I believe from my observations that this is due to good training and constant interaction from the manager, who has experience and a great passion for her role.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home.

I can not recommend enough the amazing care my father received at Hazelgrove. Every single member of staff, cleaners, carers, nurses and managers were endlessly caring and compassionate. They truly care about the residents and totally understand their needs and never judge. As my father became more
unwell, they would care for his changing needs without complaint. They also made sure I was coping and this was exceptional and something I will never forget.

Our Mum was a resident in this care home for about 16 months. The manager was so helpful and caring. As was all the staff. When we visited Mum we could see she was comfortable and nursing care was good even in her last hours. There has been refurbishment and a lovely dining room for residents to sit
together. I would recommend this home.

After a very turbulent 18 months, my husband found a place at Hazelgrove. He had last-stage Alzheimer's/vascular dementia. The care he received was amazing. The staff were wonderfully led by a great nursing team. He is treated with the utmost respect even to the time when he was washed after death.
Maybe the accommodation is a bit shabby but it is the care that counts!

Hazelgrove is a loving and comfortable residence for my 80-year-old mother who has mixed dementia. She has been at Hazelgrove for a number of years. The staff are friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for a better Nursing Home for her in these really difficult times.

My mother has been at Hazelgrove Nursing Home for over six years, and I have continued to be very satisfied with the standard of care she has received. There is strong leadership and good staff retention. If I phone, the nursing staff know who I am and always know how my mother is without having to
look up notes or information. I know if there are any issues, they will always phone me, and I find the staff helpful and very caring of their residents. I am very happy with the care she is receiving.

We have decided to take my wife to the UK from a care home in Spain to Hazelgrove Nursing Home in Brighton after having had not-so-good care and attention from staff there which lacked experience in dealing with dementia patients. We have seen the care and attention given to my wife and other
patients at Hazelgrove and she has been looked after by the carers and nurses and it is well managed by a caring knowledgeable and experienced manager. We are very pleased with the care and attention given to my wife. Thank you.

My mum has been at Hazelgrove since January 2018 as her previous care home could not cater for her changing needs. The staff at Hazelgrove always keep me up-to-date with any medical attention my mum needs. I'd recommend for friends/family of potential residents to consider Hazelgrove as it has a
nice "homely" and welcoming atmosphere.

My mum was a resident here from February 2021 and sadly passed away in October. During her stay, I found the care provided to be excellent and very caring to both my mum and myself. I was kept informed of any changes to my mum's health and sadly I wasn't able to be there when she passed away but one
of the staff sat with her so I'm pleased that she wasn't alone.
The staff were kind and considerate at all times and my mum was very happy to be there.
Thank you all for the care that you provided for my mum.

Mother was moved to Hazelgrove as her needs changed and because of Covid and the distance where we live, we were not able to visit mum until very recently. The home is fresh and clean and the staff are so helpful, Mother is content and very well looked after, any time I have contacted them to know
how she was doing the staff always have enough time to give me a complete rundown on how mum is. Mum can be a character! Yes we are very pleased, lovely place and a comfort that in her twilight years (95)...she is being well cared for.
