The house and grounds are beautiful, but it is the lovely and caring attendees (staff) that make Whiston Hall what is is. I was fortunate to have Mo, Nicola, Kate, Josh and many other kind and attentive people helping me. On second shift, Kelly always took the time to say good evening, or ask how my
day had been. Jayne checked in often to ask about my stay and how I was being treated. One morning deputy manager John wasn't beyond serving breakfast. The staff and management are wonderful.

A very calm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. The home is well worn but always clean and tidy. The home has a very nice dining room where a variety of tasty meals are served. Tea, coffee and biscuits always on hand. Individual rooms are ample for residents. These
are kept clean and tidy.

It was my dad's first time in a care home for 2 weeks respite. Dad was fine, It was me that was worried and anxious about leaving him.
But I shouldn't have been. All the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them. Dad loved his room and the food which is all made and cooked on site.
Our first stay, definitely not the last and I hope he now considers moving into Whiston hall permanently. Perfect throughout.
Thank you to you all x

The staff are great, nothing is too much trouble for them, they made my mum feel comfortable when she was there for respite. Lovely and clean, food made on-site from scratch, lots of options to choose from. The staff took time to get to know my mum and treat her with dignity.

Whiston Hall has cared for my mum while she was on end of life and my dad who is in for dementia. The team at Whiston has supported not only mum and dad but the attending relatives. I have no concerns with the care we have received at Whiston and I would go as far as recommending them to people who
needs care for their loved ones.

As a family we are pleased with the standard of care given to our mum/mum in law. The staff are friendly and know mum really well. Mum is happy and contented. her health is carefully monitored and any health issues are dealt with promptly. The home is in need of some refurbishment, particularly soft
furnishing and carpers in the lounge and corridor. However the environment maintains a comfortable and homely feel.

My mother had been a resident for the past 16 months. The staff show kindness, attentiveness, professionalism at all times ensuring that resents and visitors are dealt with the utmost respect promoting an atmosphere with the care home that is welcoming, homely and friendly. The overall cleanliness
of the care home is good including my mother's bedroom and common room. However, despite every effort to maintain the environment, it is not a purpose build care home and some of the furniture and carpets look in areas quite 'shabby'. I feel unable to comment directly about food, but I am aware that every effort is made to accommodate preferences. Activities and socialisation are available at times have seen them happening whilst visiting. I have no reason to doubt safety or security. I feel able to speak to staff/senior staff if I have any issues relating to my mother. However, I would like to have some part/input in any care plan review please which I have not been part of to date.

Mum was always adamant that she would never move into a carehome. However, after becoming actually ill she was discharged first home and then Whiston in a NHS funded bed. She settled straight away and decided she didn't want to go home as she liked the home and felt safe. The carers, seniors and
management are caring. competent and hard working. They do not hesitate to seek help if mum is actively ill and provide excellent support during and after hospital admissions. Mum's only gruble is that the cooked meals are variable in quality. I have visited many care homes and Whiston sits with the best of them.

Staff are friendly and polite. The once carer has an exceptional sense of humour. Always checking in on my mother. Her clothes are kept clean and ironed. There are very good communication between my mother and the staff members. Another member of staff in particular, stands out.

The staff at Whiston Hall are amazing, my mums been in their care for 3 years in that time, she has been looked after with care and consideration. She has a few health issues, but management and the team keep a close eye on her and know when she isn't herself. We couldn't ask for anything else

My husband was admitted for respite care which we hoped to make permanent. Sadly despite much kindness from all the staff he did not settle and had to be moved elsewhere.

I cannot praise the staff who work at 'Whiston Hall' enough. They are all friendly and very hardworking. They are all up to date in the latest training in regards to manual handling, diet and fluids, mouth care, and pressure care. I am grateful that my father, who has advanced Parkinsons, is able to
spend his last few months here.

The staff are excellent, caring & loving to all the residents. Since my friend came to Whiston Hall, she has gone from strength to strength due to all the staff & support and I cannot thank them.
The management is putting things forward to update facilities which is now showing and making a
difference.
I can only recommend Whiston Hall highly.

My relative seems reasonably happy with the care home. He doesn't join in any of the activities due to his illnesses, he does however receive encouragement from the staff, but is happy to stay in his own surroundings, where he feels comfortable. The staff and Manager are very friendly, approachable
and do their best to help and keep us up to date with everything.

I found the home & staff caring and pleasant.
Mum feels safe, content and pleased with every aspect.
Full marks.

Just to say so very happy, my mum loves it and is really happy and settled. We are able to ask about anything we need to check and always get an answer. Everything is lovely. That's so so much.

Had a brilliant afternoon yesterday, the care home arranged for a singer to entertain the residents.
The music was good, staff, residents and families all joined in.
It was lovely to see the residents smiling and singing, I think that makes it all worth the hard work that the staff put into it.
Keep it up and a big thank you.

Having visited my mum in the home today 15/08/2024, it was nice to see they had a singer on who was fantastic with the residents, getting them to sing and interact with her, they really enjoyed it and so did I. A big thank you to all that organised it and hopefully she will return soon.

My mum is happy at Whiston Hall. She sometimes grumbles but I can tell that she is thriving through the social interaction with the staff and other residents. The staff are kind and my mum has told me that she feels that they treat her with respect and she in turn respects them. She didn't want to
sell her bungalow but she is the first to admit now that it's better and safer where she is. I'll highlight a couple of examples of what I feel is good practice.
Mum has always had pet dogs and I know she misses this aspect of her old life. I was so pleased to find out that visits from family pets are encouraged and I have brought my spaniel in to visit several times. It's lovely to see Mum's face light up when she sees him.
On another subject, I noticed today that the skin on Mum's lower legs is in much better condition than it was in the past. Clearly, someone has taken the time to assess her needs and appropriate care is being given.

Mum has been here a while now and she's doing great. At 94 she has problems with mobility and all her needs are cared for. Never had any problems in the time she's been here but the small situations we have had were soon sorted. New management is making changes which are having a positive effect.
Lots of activities for residents to join in if they wish.
