I have been visiting my 99-year-old friend over the many years she has been at Wantsum Lodge, but only annually as I live abroad. Every time I find the staff friendly, the building clean and no "old people's home" smell. I witness staff talking to people patiently, appropriately and with respect.

My mother in law has been a resident at the home since July 2021. She recently passed away. During the whole time she was looked after the home, the care she received was exceptional. She was looked after by people who genuinely cared for her as they do for all the residents.

I find all the staff are friendly and approachable, if you ask, nothing is too much trouble. There have been times when my uncles hair has not been washed or his teeth cleaned. There have been occasions where he has been returned to his room and left without the TV on. Mostly things are done and the
staff are always very kind to him.

My husband immediately felt at home in his room. It had a warm, welcoming feel to it, and it was number 10, which made him feel important! It had its own bathroom and TV. He soon looked on it as his home. The staff were very attentive and kind. I can't praise them enough for their efforts with his
care. Physically and mentally. I could visit any time, day or night. Our dog, 'Poppy' was allowed to visit as well. We were made to feel like part of a family. A truly memorable experience. A huge thanks to everybody from me.

My husband has been a resident in Wantsum Lodge for over three years during which time he has been treated with great care and kindness. I cannot fault the management and staff who have responded to his needs which at times can be challenging. I have also been treated with respect and kindness and
am involved in all decisions about his care. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and they have become like a second family to both of us. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are comfortable and always clean, the activities are varied and great fun with things to suit everyone what ever their capabilities.

My mother stayed at Wantsum Lodge for two months while recovering from a broken pelvis, and we were very pleased with the care she received. Her room was comfortable, and the staff were competent, patient and friendly. They made my mother's visitors feel very welcome.
During her stay, the team
arranged for her medication to be reviewed and for an audiologist and an optician to visit, ensuring her wider health needs were met. On the day she left, they helped her with a shower, gave her an early lunch, and provided two months' medication to take home.
I first visited Wantsum Lodge on a Sunday morning without an appointment, and the staff were happy to show me around. I found the building light, bright and welcoming. Later, when my mother wanted to see the home before moving in, the staff again gave us a full tour.
Most importantly, my mother said she was happy there and enjoyed the food. Overall, she was very well looked after, and we are grateful for all the care and support.

I was a senior carer at Wantsum Lodge from May 2008 until June 2022 when I retired, so this was always going to be my first and only choice as my mum's home when she became unable to care for herself due to worsening dementia. I have always felt that Wantsum was my 2nd home and I'm glad to say that
mum soon felt the same. All of the staff are warm and friendly, and the care is second to none. There is always so much going on - music, dancing, singing, art, visits to interesting places. This spring they had baby ducks hatch in the home and mum got to gently hold one. Mum loved the food but best of all she loved the carers. We could visit at any time and were always involved in decisions regarding mum's care. Sadly my mum has just passed away and the Wantsum family have shared in our grief and are supporting us at this very difficult time. I cannot recommend Wantsum Lodge highly enough for their care, support and love, for both their residents and their families. A truly 5 star home.

From the moment Mum was assessed at home before moving to Wantsum, I knew we were in safe hands. On the day we arrived, we were met by staff and we were welcomed into the Wantsum family. Every aspect is exceptional - everywhere is clean and looked after, the food is delicious, the activities are
varied and appealing - from bingo, craft, sinagalongs with live music to following duck eggs as they hatch, watching the ducklings grow. There is always a happy, fun atmosphere with residents and visitors included. The staff respect the family's wishes and involved us in decisions about all aspects of Mum's care. Every member of staff goes out of their way to provide the best care - the carers, cleaning, catering, management and maintenance. It is incredible that so wonderful people are assembled in one place. We could not have wished for better care for Mum.

Mum was welcomed into the Wantsum family 2 years ago. She was always treated like a treasured family member and on my visits I was made so welcome. All of the staff were exceptionally caring. I could phone and ask about anything and my requests were always met with "no problem". Living at the other
end of the country, it was incredibly reassuring to know that she was being looked after so well and that she was happy.

Residents are well looked after, the home is spotlessly clean, the staff are lovely. The manager takes any comments on board and the families of residents are listened to. The residents are entertained. I'm very happy that my mum is in Wantsum Lodge.

My mother has been at Wantsum Lodge now for nearly 5 years. The staff are amazing, the most caring, kind and compassionate people I have ever met. They welcome family and friends of loved ones and nothing is too much trouble. I am happy I can contact them at any time with concerns that may arise.
The activities never cease to amaze me, from balloon tennis to Guinea pig petting. Live music, pottery, painting and always a party atmosphere. The food is fantastic with a lovely dining area. I would highly recommend Wantsum Lodge my mother is extremely happy there and I am comforted to know she is receiving the best care.
