View Full Details of Moorgate HollowMum has been in Moorgate Hollow for the last 2 years and I can honestly say that during this time the care and attention she has received has been exemplary. All the staff and manager go above and beyond their duties to make sure that mum is cared for at all times. When we visit, we are made to feel like part of the Moorgate family with its friendly environment, approachable manager and caring staff members. They have just been awarded "outstanding" from the care quality commission which is definitely well deserved.
My mum has been in the home for 2 weeks , what can I say the staff are amazing my mum is like a different person she absolutely loves it there she says she's never been happier. It's such a warm caring place ,from the Manager , seniors, activity leaders , carers and domestic staff we couldn't wish for anything better , they go above and beyond, all I can say is the biggest Thankyou to you all you've made an old lady very happy and her family too.
My nannan was taken ill in hospital before she moved into Moorgate Hollows care home. This was not an ideal time for us all, as Nannan was fairly independent then over night being told that she needed 24 hour care was to some what, a relief, but also a panic. From Nannan being poorly, the care home have been so kind, considerate and professional. The manager went to see Nannan while she was in hospital, to give her an update of what was happening, ensuring my Nannan was also kept in the loop, as well as all the family members. The first time I saw Nannan in Moorgate hollows I got a lump in my throat- for the first time in years, she looked like my Nannan again. The home is peaceful, but also has a nice atmosphere. The carers, both days and nights, the activity ladies & manager have done nothing but provided exceptional care and compassion. My Nannan said this is the happiest she has been since she lost my grandad. I feel like we are one big family, and I can't thank them enough!
Moorgate Hollow is a wonderful care home and has to be the best in the area. My mum had two weeks respite there in March this year and then permanently after the respite period. I couldn't have picked a better home for my mum to reside in as the manager and her staff are such lovely people. They are very hard working, caring, attentive, polite and nothing is any trouble to them. The care home is spotlessly clean, the bedrooms very homely and the dining room and food exceptional. They even have their own little bar and a lovely garden and patio area. There are activities going on every day of each month and regular trips out for the residents, plenty to keep them occupied and stimulated. The care home has just received an outstanding award from CQC and very well deserved,I'd say.-Speaks volumes. It's a weight off my mind knowing that my mum is being cared for in such a wonderful environment,24/7 care and I can visit anytime and always receive a lovely reception from the staff.
Visited this carehome and a couple more before deciding to choose mooregate Hollow for permanent residence if the interview/selection process was passed. The manager came out and did what was required of her and luckily we passed and are now residing in this home. My mum has been in less than a week and has enjoyed the company of other residents and especially the staff whom she thinks are kind and supportive in what ever she wants to do weather it's just relaxing in a quiet lounge or listening to music or watching telly, her walking is getting better each time we visit big thank you to the staff for getting her up on her feet to begin with. This home is excellent and haven't seen mum smile so much in a while. Thank you MoorGate Hollow
my mum had sepsis in November 2024 . We didnt know at the time and thought it was just a bad chest infection. One of the carers went in to check on mum later in the day and saw mum shaking. she alerted the senior staff and an ambulance was called. After a week in hospital mum was discharged back to moorgate Hollow with a mid line insitu. Moorgate Hollow made sure mum was cared for and comfortable through this traumatic time . and also again in December when mum was admitted again as the sepsis hadnt gone. When mum was discharged this time i was waiting at the home for her and one of the carers was waiting with a sunday dinner that they had saved for her coming back . mums face lit up when she saw all the staff and the residents i knew that mum is happy and cared for and that made me and the family fully reassured that she is in a very safe and very well run care home. The staff and manager are all very approachable and helpful whenever you need anything.
What an excellent care home! Everything is A*+ From the kind, thoughtful, caring and friendly staff to the cleanliness of the place. You are always made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in. But the main part is the connection the staff share with the residents, sitting holding their hands, talking to them and being involved in a range of activities with them. It's a home from home place for them. We sadly lost our sister, but we still visit regularly and are always welcomed. We couldn't be more grateful for the high quality care she received. Moorgate Hollow has become a part of our family!
An absolute amazing care home, we couldn't have been any happier with the highest standard of care my Aunty received from amazing, hard working and friendly staff who always go above and beyond. The home is run by a hard working, fantastic manager who is approachable and works hard to ensure the residents, staff and families are happy and receiving the highest quality care and support. Always an amazing atmosphere, the range of activities is incredible and the home is always clean, bright and well maintained at all times. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow, the best care home there is!
I cannot fault Moorgate Hollow, the manager and carers are second to none. Dad has been in the home since November 2024 and really ill for a lot of the time, the care Dad has received has been exceptional tending to Dad's every need with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I could not have wished for a better home than Moorgate Hollow for Dad, nothing is too much trouble and I know Dad is in safe hands. The home is very clean and well-presented with nice rooms. It also offers the residents lots of activities in-house and trips out which the residents love.
We receive excellent care from the very friendly and efficient staff, they try to accommodate everything we have requested. You have asked for a review on the food and drink, it's very hard to comment as never they're during meal times, but my mother-in-law says the meals are very nice. We have peace of mind knowing she is receiving excellent care.
My mum has been a resident at Moorgate Hollow for 15 months during which time her care has been exceptional. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the extremely professional and caring team who go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of the residents. There has been very little change in staffing personnel during this time, which helps to ensure the individual needs of the residents are compassionately managed and everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The communal areas, as well as the residents' rooms and en-suite shower rooms, are always spotlessly clean and there is a fresh smell throughout. The manager has an excellent leadership style with exceptionally high standards and a clear desire to ensure each resident is well cared for. She has a constant drive to enhance the home and always engages family members in seeking feedback and ideas for improvements. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moorgate Hollow, and I feel fortunate my mum resides here.
I cannot praise the manager and staff at Moorgate Hollow highly enough, they are all so friendly and caring. My Dad has his own en-suite room which is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the Hollow. He is always clean and tidy. He thoroughly enjoys the activities that take place daily. He loves the food. All in all, I couldn't ask for better care for him.
My father has been a resident since November 2024. The place is amazing. All staff are so welcoming and friendly, it is spotlessly clean and exceptionally high standard. The food served to residents always looks healthy and delicious. Upon his arrival at Moorgate Hollow, Dad was very frail and weak. The staff were all very caring and concerned about my father and said they would do their very best to build him up and get him stronger. The manager put our minds at rest, she is wonderful with everyone and a credit to Moorgate Hollow. Dad has now gained weight, he is eating really well and walking much better with a frame, he isn't using the wheelchair we took in for him initially. He looks like a different person from the one who went in back in November. All the staff are excellent, so patient and caring and they always have time to chat and update us on Dad and how he is doing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moorgate Hollow.
Dad has an onset of vascular dementia and we were concerned about his safety, we found Moorgate Hollow and were instantly impressed. Bedrooms are a good size with ensuite shower rooms/a plus for us. The home is well run by a manager who is very approachable nothing is too much trouble for her and her fantastic team of staff. Dad was initially admitted on a respite basis a few months ago and as his current state of dementia is not severe we were concerned it was the right level of care he needed at this stage, but it soon became apparent it was the right decision at the right time. Staff have been very supportive to both us and Dad addressing any concerns we may have whilst giving constant updates on his wellbeing, all the staff are great in making sure Dad is happy and involving him in the constant ongoing activities, he has been out with their activity coordinator a few times which he has loved. All in all, we are happy in the knowledge dad is safe and well cared for with his personal needs and dignity being met.
It's just under a year since my father arrived at Moorgate Hollow under exceptional circumstances. There was only one choice for us where we knew he would receive the gold standard of care he deserves and we wished for him. This is his home! His room is decorated and furnished how he would like it with his own furniture and belongings, no matter what you ask for the team goes above and beyond to ensure it happens and the actions are swift. My dad is cared for and loved, continuously fed excellent food, and entertained not only by an activity coordinator but all the staff. The home is extremely well run by the manager who is very knowledgeable and approachable, she works hard to ensure that the residents are happy first and foremost but that the team that works with her are happy in their work too. Dignity and respect are of high importance as is communication with the resident's family. The "hollow" family are our family.
Dad has been at Moorgate Hollow for a number of years now and is very happy and engaged by the care he receives. Every member of staff he has encountered during his time there has been excellent: kind, caring and supportive. The team are wonderful and whenever I leave I feel reassured and fortunate that he is in such good hands. It was an unexpected and tricky decision choosing the right place for Dad and I'm so pleased to have chosen here.
I can't speak highly enough for the care my Dad has received at Moorgate Hollow. The staff have provided such good care when he needed it the most. The staff are diligent and treat the residents with such care and dignity. What sets them apart though is how they have looked after all of us as a family, it's more than just the residents who get cared for as my Mum will attest to. The manager sets high standards for her team but also sets a friendly welcoming tone for the home.
Moorgate Hollow just gets better and better. It's bright, modern and does not feel like a care home at all. Loads of activities which vary week by week to engage residents. The overall care each resident receives is second to none. My dad has been a resident for coming up to 2 years. Before, he was in hospital at least once a month with falls, infections etc. Since being in Moorgate Hollow, not one trip to hospital. Dad isn't the easiest of people thanks to his Dementia and Alzheimers, but they address all problems with care and compassion. I'm always kept up to date on Dad's behaviour, health etc but any problems or issues are presented with their actions to address the issue as opposed to there being a problem I need to resolve. The manager's leadership style shines through. All the staff clearly love the work they do. A well-functioning team which benefits the residents immeasurably. I have no reservations in giving a full 5-star rating for everything Moorgate Hollow provides.
The home is always clean, the food is lovely but the real asset is the team of carers - they are so kind, caring and efficient. In my experience, they treat everyone with dignity and respect and I couldn't ask for anything more from them when caring for my dad (and also my nan 10 years ago - so many of the staff are still the same!) I cannot fault the care provided here and the manager is particularly lovely - really approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I'd highly recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone requiring this type of care.
Mum moved into Moorgate Hollow in February this year, which was a huge decision for us as a family to make, however mum has settled in very well. The level of care, respect and compassion from all the staff has alleviated any concerns we had. The home is light, bright, very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Mums room is a good size and has an en-suite bathroom, you can also take in any personal furniture which makes it more like home from home. The staff always seem to be cheerful and happy each time we visit, they keep me informed of any changes to mums care and are always helpful. I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone looking for respectful care for their loved ones.
