I honestly can't believe the difference in my mum since she moved to Moorgate Hollow Care Home. The change has been so positive. She is much more active, happier, interacting with other residents, and has even lost weight, which has really benefited her health and wellbeing.
The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and it's clear they genuinely care about every resident. They work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is stimulated, engaged and treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
Knowing that my mum is safe, happy and so well cared for gives our whole family real peace of mind. I can't thank the team enough for everything they do. I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow Care Home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one.
Thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review. I am so pleased that your mum has settled at Moorgate Hollow and I will pass on your comments.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I cannot praise the staff at Moorgate Hollow enough! My mum has only been a resident a few months but from the moment I walked in, I felt such relief as I knew within seconds that she would be well cared for and I would not be spending my days worrying about whether she was happy and safe. Since she has been there, she has been on trips out, including the seaside this week, and has even been out on a one-to-one basis with the manager. There are so many activities for residents within a homely environment which is exceptionally clean and welcoming. My mother has put on weight and is no longer showing signs of agitation, which she previously exhibited. Moorgate Hollow has given me peace of mind and has given my mum a place where she is respected and treated as an individual. I cannot praise the manager and staff enough.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I know that the staff and manager will appreciate your kind words.
Mum has been at Moorgate Hollow for a number of years now and we can honestly say we couldn't have chosen a better home for her. The whole team are exceptional. Everyone is supportive, caring and understanding of mum's needs. Communication is of high importance and we feel totally reassured and have the peace of mind, knowing that mum is in such good hands. Moorgate Hollow is run by an excellent, hard working manager, who leads by example and has such high standards, ensuring the residents receive the highest quality care. The home has a brilliant atmosphere, always clean and tidy and well maintained. We would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow
Thank you for your kind comments. I will make sure that they are passed onto the manager and staff.
I want to especially praise the manager, whose dedication and compassion set the tone for the whole home. When Mum was recently admitted to hospital, the manager went above and beyond in every possible way - supporting Mum, staying closely involved in her care and keeping me informed. At a time that was incredibly stressful, their support made an enormous difference.
Knowing that Mum is cared for by people who genuinely care about her wellbeing brings immense peace of mind. Moorgate Hollow is outstanding and I couldn't be more thankful for everything the manager and her team do every single day.
Thank you for writing such a positive review for Moorgate Hollow. I am so pleased that your mum is settled at the home. The staff really appreciate hearing that they are doing such a good job.
Moorgate Hollow is a wonderful place and Mum has been happy since she became a resident three years ago. As you enter the home, ALL the staff are friendly and welcoming. They are genuine, caring, respectful, kind and empathetic. Mum was taken to hospital with a chest infection. The reassuring, clear communication from the manager was impeccable. Mum was visited by staff whilst in hospital because they cared about her health and well-being. She loved seeing their familiar faces as hospitals can be distressing environments for a dementia patient. The Manager is incredible. It is clear that she has a dedicated and compassionate leadership style which has created a warm and welcoming environment for residents, their families and staff. She has redesigned many areas of the home, creating cohesive multifunctional spaces. Mum feel safe, enjoys the varied activities, themed musical events in the Nightingale bar (whilst drinking a malibu) days out, the in-house hair salon and the good food.
Thank you for writing a review for Moorgate Hollow. The staff and manager will really appreciate your lovely feedback.
The home is always clean, bright and well maintained at all times. They involve residents in a variety of activities which are fun and stimulating. In March 2025 they were awarded 'Outstanding' by the QCC - honestly, this came as no surprise and they totally deserve it. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone needing a first class care home for a member of their family. They are simply the best!
Thank you for writing such a lovely review for Moorgate Hollow. It is important for the staff to hear such positive comments and to know they are doing a great job every day.
Mum has been in Moorgate Hollow for the last 2 years and I can honestly say that during this time the care and attention she has received has been exemplary. All the staff and manager go above and beyond their duties to make sure that mum is cared for at all times. When we visit, we are made to feel like part of the Moorgate family with its friendly environment, approachable manager and caring staff members. They have just been awarded "outstanding" from the care quality commission which is definitely well deserved.
What a lovely review. Thank you for taking the time give your feedback. The staff and manager will really appreciate this.
My mum has been in the home for 2 weeks , what can I say the staff are amazing my mum is like a different person she absolutely loves it there she says she's never been happier. It's such a warm caring place ,from the Manager , seniors, activity leaders , carers and domestic staff we couldn't wish for anything better , they go above and beyond, all I can say is the biggest Thankyou to you all you've made an old lady very happy and her family too.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am so pleased that your mum has settled so well and I know the manager and staff will really appreciate your kind comments.
My nannan was taken ill in hospital before she moved into Moorgate Hollows care home. This was not an ideal time for us all, as Nannan was fairly independent then over night being told that she needed 24 hour care was to some what, a relief, but also a panic. From Nannan being poorly, the care home have been so kind, considerate and professional. The manager went to see Nannan while she was in hospital, to give her an update of what was happening, ensuring my Nannan was also kept in the loop, as well as all the family members. The first time I saw Nannan in Moorgate hollows I got a lump in my throat- for the first time in years, she looked like my Nannan again. The home is peaceful, but also has a nice atmosphere. The carers, both days and nights, the activity ladies & manager have done nothing but provided exceptional care and compassion. My Nannan said this is the happiest she has been since she lost my grandad. I feel like we are one big family, and I can't thank them enough!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. I know the manager and staff will really appreciate your kind words.
My mum had two weeks respite there in March this year and then permanently after the respite period.
I couldn't have picked a better home for my mum to reside in as the manager and her staff are such lovely people. They are very hard working, caring, attentive, polite and nothing is any trouble to them.
The care home is spotlessly clean, the bedrooms very homely and the dining room and food exceptional.
They even have their own little bar and a lovely garden and patio area.
There are activities going on every day of each month and regular trips out for the residents, plenty to keep them occupied and stimulated.
The care home has just received an outstanding award from CQC and very well deserved,I'd say.-Speaks volumes.
It's a weight off my mind knowing that my mum is being cared for in such a wonderful environment,24/7 care and I can visit anytime and always receive a lovely reception from the staff.
Thank you for taking the time to review. I am so pleased that your mum is happy living with us and I will pass your comments onto the staff.
The manager came out and did what was required of her and luckily we passed and are now residing in this home.
My mum has been in less than a week and has enjoyed the company of other residents and especially the staff whom she thinks are kind and supportive in what ever she wants to do weather it's just relaxing in a quiet lounge or listening to music or watching telly, her walking is getting better each time we visit big thank you to the staff for getting her up on her feet to begin with.
This home is excellent and haven't seen mum smile so much in a while.
Thank you MoorGate Hollow
What a lovely review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write write this. I am so pleased that your Mum is settled.
i knew that mum is happy and cared for and that made me and the family fully reassured that she is in a very safe and very well run care home. The staff and manager are all very approachable and helpful whenever you need anything.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write such a positive review. I know the staff and manager will really appreciate this.
What an excellent care home! Everything is A*+ From the kind, thoughtful, caring and friendly staff to the cleanliness of the place. You are always made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in. But the main part is the connection the staff share with the residents, sitting holding their hands, talking to them and being involved in a range of activities with them. It's a home from home place for them. We sadly lost our sister, but we still visit regularly and are always welcomed. We couldn't be more grateful for the high quality care she received. Moorgate Hollow has become a part of our family!
Always an amazing atmosphere, the range of activities is incredible and the home is always clean, bright and well maintained at all times. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow, the best care home there is!
I cannot fault Moorgate Hollow, the manager and carers are second to none. Dad has been in the home since November 2024 and really ill for a lot of the time, the care Dad has received has been exceptional tending to Dad's every need with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I could not have wished for a better home than Moorgate Hollow for Dad, nothing is too much trouble and I know Dad is in safe hands. The home is very clean and well-presented with nice rooms. It also offers the residents lots of activities in-house and trips out which the residents love.
We receive excellent care from the very friendly and efficient staff, they try to accommodate everything we have requested. You have asked for a review on the food and drink, it's very hard to comment as never they're during meal times, but my mother-in-law says the meals are very nice. We have peace of mind knowing she is receiving excellent care.
I cannot praise the manager and staff at Moorgate Hollow highly enough, they are all so friendly and caring. My Dad has his own en-suite room which is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the Hollow. He is always clean and tidy. He thoroughly enjoys the activities that take place daily. He loves the food. All in all, I couldn't ask for better care for him.
Dad has an onset of vascular dementia and we were concerned about his safety, we found Moorgate Hollow and were instantly impressed. Bedrooms are a good size with ensuite shower rooms/a plus for us. The home is well run by a manager who is very approachable nothing is too much trouble for her and her fantastic team of staff. Dad was initially admitted on a respite basis a few months ago and as his current state of dementia is not severe we were concerned it was the right level of care he needed at this stage, but it soon became apparent it was the right decision at the right time. Staff have been very supportive to both us and Dad addressing any concerns we may have whilst giving constant updates on his wellbeing, all the staff are great in making sure Dad is happy and involving him in the constant ongoing activities, he has been out with their activity coordinator a few times which he has loved. All in all, we are happy in the knowledge dad is safe and well cared for with his personal needs and dignity being met.
Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased to hear that your Dad is happy living with us and I will pass your kind words onto Leighann and her team.
This is his home! His room is decorated and furnished how he would like it with his own furniture and belongings, no matter what you ask for the team goes above and beyond to ensure it happens and the actions are swift.
My dad is cared for and loved, continuously fed excellent food, and entertained not only by an activity coordinator but all the staff.
The home is extremely well run by the manager who is very knowledgeable and approachable, she works hard to ensure that the residents are happy first and foremost but that the team that works with her are happy in their work too.
Dignity and respect are of high importance as is communication with the resident's family.
The "hollow" family are our family.
Dad has been at Moorgate Hollow for a number of years now and is very happy and engaged by the care he receives. Every member of staff he has encountered during his time there has been excellent: kind, caring and supportive. The team are wonderful and whenever I leave I feel reassured and fortunate that he is in such good hands. It was an unexpected and tricky decision choosing the right place for Dad and I'm so pleased to have chosen here.
