My husband received excellent care during his stay at Magnolia House. The staff were always helpful and compassionate despite some challenging behaviours and always friendly and informative to family members. When my husband's care became palliativ,e I knew that he needed to spend that time at Magnolia
House, where he would be treated as a family member to the end of his life.

A real home from home. The residents are treated with so much care and attention. The staff are amazing, so patient and understanding and nothing is ever a problem.
The surroundings are all very calm and peaceful. The rooms are homely and cosy.
This is the perfect place for respite care and it provides
total peace of mind to family and relatives that your loved one is being properly cared for and looked after.
The daily activities are so varied and cater for everybody. It's a really inclusive place.

My mother is extremely well looked after when she goes in Magnolia House for respite, it is usually two/three times a year. I am grateful that I can get here in, as I feel I wouldn't be happy for her to go anywhere else. All the carers and staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, and they make
sure her needs are meet. Park Lane Healthcare should be proud of them.
I also took Mum to the tropical tiki party on Saturday and can I say the effort put into the afternoon by all was fantastic, great day for residents, caters, family and friends.

My mum has been a resident for 12 months now. I have always been impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff, from manager through to cleaning staff. My mum has received wonderful care even when her dementia has meant she is distressed or angry. The home offer a wide range of
activities and entertainment which sadly my mum has not been able to join in with, but efforts have been made to bring activities to her room, such as sensory light activities.

My aunt went into Magnolia House for 2 weeks respite care. Her room was immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. Please do not place your loved ones in this Nursing Home.

This home is dangerous in my opinion. I found the nursing staff do not listen to the relatives of loved ones even when you are trying to advise them that your loved one may be ill. Management are obstructive and medical interventions are practically

non existent.
I found the nursing home to smell on the landings of body odour. Not surprising really with the extreme temperatures in this place. No fans or air conditioning even in the extreme temperatures. It's ridiculous, even the staff are nearly collapsing due to the heat.
Stimulus is non existent too for the residents. Absolutely nothing to do in this place for the residents. All you see the poor residents do is sit or lay in their rooms. This place is literally soleless.

I would not trust management in this place. It appears all about money not patient centred care. Please avoid at all costs.

What makes a good/excellent care home.
1. An environment in which they fit in.
2. A room that is clean with good facilities.
3. A warm environment/management - who listen.
4. Staff who are good and helpful.
5. Good food with variety.
6. Access when required to medical help.
7. Respect and activities
they enjoy.
Moorgate Croft excels at all these.

When we first looked around we were met with a genuine warmth and friendliness by everyone. This is still the case whenever we visit. The love and care they give mum is amazing. She is a different person to when she first arrived. More confident and settled and physically and mentally so much improved.
The staff encourage her to join in all the activities which she loved. The staff are always smiling and happy to chat - a fabulous family environment in which we are happy for mum to be a part of.

The staff at this care home are polite, knowledgeable and compassionate about their work. They always have a smile and nothing is too much trouble for them, any concerns are dealt with swiftly. They went above and beyond when auntie was on end of life and shed tears with the family members. The room
was prepared very respectfully and peacefully for end of life, and a member of staff was there when family wasn't. I cannot express enough gratitude to the staff there.

Took excellent care of my great aunty. She was very particular about her likes and dislikes at home, and they tried to accommodate her as best they could, which we are aware was out of their way, and we really appreciate it. My aunty came to like her time spent there doing various activities and making
a few close new friends. Forever appreciative.Thank you.
