My father in law has been in Moorgate Croft for about 4 months now. The care he receives is outstanding. But more importantly the love he receives is second to none. The staff genuinely love him, care for him like family.

It's never something you want to do, put a parent in a care home, but I am 100% certain that I have made the right decision. The staff are brilliant. They care and love for my dad like family. I can't thank them enough.

A seamless transfer from the hospice for my wife and was welcomed by an attentive, compassionate and professional staff who work tirelessly to meet my wife's medical and personal needs. The only slight criticism is they seem to be understaffed. The facilities are wonderful with a recently refurbished lounge and dining area serving excellent food and drink. It's all finished off with a beautiful outdoor garden area. Another highlight is the nightingdale lounge and bar were all the main entertainment is and is complete with a stunning boutique cinema. The ensuite rooms are clean, comfortable and cosy but could do with an upgrade but again it's only a small criticism. Every member of staff from the management, nurses, support workers, entertainment girls, cooks and cleaners really do pull together to make this a lovely place to live

I love the use of the magazine app. Enables family to get news to their relative by a printed magazine. It allows staff to engage with residents to stimulate conversation and memory.

The past year has declined gradually in all areas due to management changes and staffing levels. The last month has seen a new manager again and not for the better. The attitude of her with staff is awful and having a knock on effect with residents. The facilities and activities however are constantly excellent which all seem to enjoy however even this has recieved criticism (unfairly) by the manager. Sorry this is so critical but the atmosphere is awful with many staff unhappy. Will be difficult to maintain its current status.

The warm welcome you receive upon entry reflects in a lovely atmosphere. The staff are so cheerful and can't do enough for the residents with nothing too much trouble. They are very engaging and proactive with residents to ensure their stay is as comfortable as possible.

Her room was spacious, bright and clean and she received excellent care. I am happy to place Christina in respite or longer term care in Magnolia House in the future.

My mother has settled in extremely quickly, and this has been facilitated by the kind and professional attitude of all the staff, who are unfailing polite and helpful. I have been very happy with the opportunities on offer, as well as the catering - mum has gained weight and as a consequence appears much healthier.

Mum is very happy here - she has made new friends and speaks positively about what she has been doing.

Mum seems settled here and I have no concerns about her care, she's enjoying the food.

Mum (Andrea) was admitted following a severe stroke & a period in hospital. She was severely disabled by the stroke & largely bed bound. Mum's care was very good - she was always clean, well dressed and very regularly turned to make her comfortable While she was never happy with her situation we felt she was well cared for. Any issues brought to light were dealt with promptly.

Our sister spent her last few weeks on end of life care in Moorgate Lodge. She passed away peacefully on 12 August 2026 in a comfortable, airy room and couldn't have been better cared for. One particular thing we noticed was the softness of the sheets which added to our sister's comfort. That might seem like a small thing but so thoughtful and important. The staff were very caring and attended to her needs constantly. We were not short of offers of hot drinks. We would like to give a special mention to Catherine who answered my questions fully and with consideration, and also to the Staff Nurse (sorry, I didn't get her name) on duty on the evening and night of August 12, who also spoke to me with consideration. She was there with a big hug for my brother when he went after our sister's passing. I would recommend Moorgate Lodge to anyone looking for the best care for their loved ones.

The home never smells, every resident is spotless, meals are great and while this may seem like a basic thing it's actually not when you go to see other care facilities.

Leanne and her team do an amazing job. I can't recommend this home enough, it really does deserve all the recognition and awards!

I honestly can't believe the difference in my mum since she moved to Moorgate Hollow Care Home. The change has been so positive. She is much more active, happier, interacting with other residents, and has even lost weight, which has really benefited her health and wellbeing.

The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and it's clear they genuinely care about every resident. They work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is stimulated, engaged and treated with kindness, dignity and respect.

Knowing that my mum is safe, happy and so well cared for gives our whole family real peace of mind. I can't thank the team enough for everything they do. I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow Care Home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one.

I came to a meeting about changes and improvements to communal areas of the home. The manager explained things thoroughly and clearly, including health and safety procedures which will be in place during the work. I have visited many homes and I am continuously impressed by the staff and the quality of care given to my brother, and also to the standard of decoration and communal facilities in the home. Far better than most.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I cannot praise the staff at Moorgate Hollow enough! My mum has only been a resident a few months but from the moment I walked in, I felt such relief as I knew within seconds that she would be well cared for and I would not be spending my days worrying about whether she was happy and safe. Since she has been there, she has been on trips out, including the seaside this week, and has even been out on a one-to-one basis with the manager. There are so many activities for residents within a homely environment which is exceptionally clean and welcoming. My mother has put on weight and is no longer showing signs of agitation, which she previously exhibited. Moorgate Hollow has given me peace of mind and has given my mum a place where she is respected and treated as an individual. I cannot praise the manager and staff enough.

My aunt is a resident in the Hall carehome in thornton le dale, it is one of the best facilities I have been to.The staff are so caring, the residents have a full calender of events every week,from school children visiting, to having animals visit for petting, outings, art, baking and many more activities, the residents have lovely rooms, and lovely communal areas. The staff from reception, to the service givers,and cleaners and cooks are all very happy and obliging,ways pleasant! . We always look forward to visiting. A truly lovely place

when my mum first came into magnolia she was very aprehensive, but the staff soon got to know her and her needs were instantly met She felt extremely safe and i was assured she will be well cared for and she is. The management reception and staff are amazing, Compassionate and give a friendly approachable persona, my mum feels like she's at home. The entertainment management are second to non making sure all residents have fun daily.
