The care my friend received at Moorgate Lodge was exceptional. You provided her with a safe space where she could spend her last few weeks in peace surrounded by staff who genuinely cared about her. The carers, nurses, managers, in fact everyone, went above and beyond to look after my friend. I shall
be eternally grateful to them all for showing my dearest friend love and compassion at the end of her life.

Please do not place your loved ones in this Nursing Home.

This home is dangerous in my opinion. I found the nursing staff do not listen to the relatives of loved ones even when you are trying to advise them that your loved one may be ill. Management are obstructive and medical interventions are practically

non existent.
I found the nursing home to smell on the landings of body odour. Not surprising really with the extreme temperatures in this place. No fans or air conditioning even in the extreme temperatures. It's ridiculous, even the staff are nearly collapsing due to the heat.
Stimulus is non existent too for the residents. Absolutely nothing to do in this place for the residents. All you see the poor residents do is sit or lay in their rooms. This place is literally soleless.

I would not trust management in this place. It appears all about money not patient centred care. Please avoid at all costs.

At Park Lane Healthcare we do value all feedback and always provide a response and opportunity to meet to discuss when required. This opinion does not reflect the kind and professional care we know is provided by the dedicated team at Moorgate Lodge, as illustrated by all the other reviews shared by families and residents. All concerns raised by this reviewer have been fully investigated and none have been upheld.A recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated the home "Good" with outstanding leadership.

What makes a good/excellent care home.
1. An environment in which they fit in.

3. A warm environment/management - who listen.
4. Staff who are good and helpful.
5. Good food with variety.
6. Access when required to medical help.

The staff are friendly and helpful, their care for the residents is good.
The food offered is really good and plenty of it. Activities arranged for the residents is amazing and the organiser excels all expectations. The rooms are cleaned regularly, which is important. Manager, listen to you. I have
no doubt this is one of the best care homes in the country.

When we first looked around we were met with a genuine warmth and friendliness by everyone. This is still the case whenever we visit. The love and care they give mum is amazing. She is a different person to when she first arrived. More confident and settled and physically and mentally so much improved.
The staff encourage her to join in all the activities which she loved. The staff are always smiling and happy to chat - a fabulous family environment in which we are happy for mum to be a part of.

The staff at this care home are polite, knowledgeable and compassionate about their work. They always have a smile and nothing is too much trouble for them, any concerns are dealt with swiftly. They went above and beyond when auntie was on end of life and shed tears with the family members. The room
was prepared very respectfully and peacefully for end of life, and a member of staff was there when family wasn't. I cannot express enough gratitude to the staff there.

Mum has been in Moorgate Hollow for the last 2 years and I can honestly say that during this time the care and attention she has received has been exemplary. All the staff and manager go above and beyond their duties to make sure that mum is cared for at all times. When we visit, we are made to feel
like part of the Moorgate family with its friendly environment, approachable manager and caring staff members. They have just been awarded "outstanding" from the care quality commission which is definitely well deserved.

Took excellent care of my great aunty. She was very particular about her likes and dislikes at home, and they tried to accommodate her as best they could, which we are aware was out of their way, and we really appreciate it. My aunty came to like her time spent there doing various activities and making
a few close new friends. Forever appreciative.Thank you.

My aunt was a resident in Moorgate Croft for just over 2 years until she passed away in March 2025. We were very happy with the care provided. My aunt was so happy living here, the manager and her staff were so kind and caring and were a credit to the organisation. During the time my aunt was a resident,
we never had any worries or concerns. Thank you on behalf of our family for taking such good care of her.

My nannan was taken ill in hospital before she moved into Moorgate Hollows care home. This was not an ideal time for us all, as Nannan was fairly independent then over night being told that she needed 24 hour care was to some what, a relief, but also a panic. From Nannan being poorly, the care home
have been so kind, considerate and professional. The manager went to see Nannan while she was in hospital, to give her an update of what was happening, ensuring my Nannan was also kept in the loop, as well as all the family members. The first time I saw Nannan in Moorgate hollows I got a lump in my throat- for the first time in years, she looked like my Nannan again. The home is peaceful, but also has a nice atmosphere. The carers, both days and nights, the activity ladies & manager have done nothing but provided exceptional care and compassion. My Nannan said this is the happiest she has been since she lost my grandad. I feel like we are one big family, and I can't thank them enough!

My mother in Law was looked after extremely well for her end of life care. The staff were professional and very caring. Other relatives we met included nurses who again praised the home and its staff very highly. The food there is also worth a mention. It is made by a chef and is delicious.

Moorgate Hollow is a wonderful care home and has to be the best in the area.
My mum had two weeks respite there in March this year and then permanently after the respite period.
I couldn't have picked a better home for my mum to reside in as the manager and her staff are such lovely people. They are
very hard working, caring, attentive, polite and nothing is any trouble to them.
The care home is spotlessly clean, the bedrooms very homely and the dining room and food exceptional.
They even have their own little bar and a lovely garden and patio area.
There are activities going on every day of each month and regular trips out for the residents, plenty to keep them occupied and stimulated.
The care home has just received an outstanding award from CQC and very well deserved,I'd say.-Speaks volumes.
It's a weight off my mind knowing that my mum is being cared for in such a wonderful environment,24/7 care and I can visit anytime and always receive a lovely reception from the staff.

Mum has moved into Moorgate Croft in the past 3 weeks and has settled really well. This is down to the excellent welcome she has received. The staff are very caring, kind and positive. Moving mum into a care home was such a difficult decision for us as a family.
The manager, deputy manager, nursing and care staff have all been wonderful.
They care for mums needs so well, always cheerful professional and caring and they always have time to talk to us.

Visited this carehome and a couple more before deciding to choose mooregate Hollow for permanent residence if the interview/selection process was passed.
The manager came out and did what was required of her and luckily we passed and are now residing in this home.
My mum has been in less than a
week and has enjoyed the company of other residents and especially the staff whom she thinks are kind and supportive in what ever she wants to do weather it's just relaxing in a quiet lounge or listening to music or watching telly, her walking is getting better each time we visit big thank you to the staff for getting her up on her feet to begin with.
This home is excellent and haven't seen mum smile so much in a while.
Thank you MoorGate Hollow
