Mum (Andrea) was admitted following a severe stroke & a period in hospital. She was severely disabled by the stroke & largely bed bound. Mum's care was very good - she was always clean, well dressed and very regularly turned to make her comfortable While she was never happy with her situation we felt she was well cared for. Any issues brought to light were dealt with promptly.

Our sister spent her last few weeks on end of life care in Moorgate Lodge. She passed away peacefully on 12 August 2026 in a comfortable, airy room and couldn't have been better cared for. One particular thing we noticed was the softness of the sheets which added to our sister's comfort. That might seem like a small thing but so thoughtful and important. The staff were very caring and attended to her needs constantly. We were not short of offers of hot drinks. We would like to give a special mention to Catherine who answered my questions fully and with consideration, and also to the Staff Nurse (sorry, I didn't get her name) on duty on the evening and night of August 12, who also spoke to me with consideration. She was there with a big hug for my brother when he went after our sister's passing. I would recommend Moorgate Lodge to anyone looking for the best care for their loved ones.

The home never smells, every resident is spotless, meals are great and while this may seem like a basic thing it's actually not when you go to see other care facilities.

I honestly can't believe the difference in my mum since she moved to Moorgate Hollow Care Home. The change has been so positive. She is much more active, happier, interacting with other residents, and has even lost weight, which has really benefited her health and wellbeing.

The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and it's clear they genuinely care about every resident. They work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is stimulated, engaged and treated with kindness, dignity and respect.

Knowing that my mum is safe, happy and so well cared for gives our whole family real peace of mind. I can't thank the team enough for everything they do. I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow Care Home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one.

I came to a meeting about changes and improvements to communal areas of the home. The manager explained things thoroughly and clearly, including health and safety procedures which will be in place during the work. I have visited many homes and I am continuously impressed by the staff and the quality of care given to my brother, and also to the standard of decoration and communal facilities in the home. Far better than most.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I cannot praise the staff at Moorgate Hollow enough! My mum has only been a resident a few months but from the moment I walked in, I felt such relief as I knew within seconds that she would be well cared for and I would not be spending my days worrying about whether she was happy and safe. Since she has been there, she has been on trips out, including the seaside this week, and has even been out on a one-to-one basis with the manager. There are so many activities for residents within a homely environment which is exceptionally clean and welcoming. My mother has put on weight and is no longer showing signs of agitation, which she previously exhibited. Moorgate Hollow has given me peace of mind and has given my mum a place where she is respected and treated as an individual. I cannot praise the manager and staff enough.

Although my mum's stay in Moorgate Lodge unfortunately lasted less than 3 weeks, the care and compassion afforded to her by all the members of staff was wonderful. The care manager operates an open-door policy, which we found reassuring. From day 1, she ensured mum's wishes were adhered to. All she required was to be kept 'clean, comfortable and quiet, and she was. The members of staff were always on hand with offers of tea and coffee, and even the occasional hug when required! Mum has been at Moorgate Hollow for a number of years now and we can honestly say we couldn't have chosen a better home for her. The whole team are exceptional. Everyone is supportive, caring and understanding of mum's needs. Communication is of high importance and we feel totally reassured and have the peace of mind, knowing that mum is in such good hands. Moorgate Hollow is run by an excellent, hard working manager, who leads by example and has such high standards, ensuring the residents receive the highest quality care. Knowing that Mum is cared for by people who genuinely care about her wellbeing brings immense peace of mind. Moorgate Hollow is outstanding and I couldn't be more thankful for everything the manager and her team do every single day.

Moorgate Hollow is a wonderful place and Mum has been happy since she became a resident three years ago. As you enter the home, ALL the staff are friendly and welcoming. They are genuine, caring, respectful, kind and empathetic. Mum was taken to hospital with a chest infection. The reassuring, clear communication from the manager was impeccable. Mum was visited by staff whilst in hospital because they cared about her health and well-being. She loved seeing their familiar faces as hospitals can be distressing environments for a dementia patient. The Manager is incredible. It is clear that she has a dedicated and compassionate leadership style which has created a warm and welcoming environment for residents, their families and staff. She has redesigned many areas of the home, creating cohesive multifunctional spaces. Mum feel safe, enjoys the varied activities, themed musical events in the Nightingale bar (whilst drinking a malibu) days out, the in-house hair salon and the good food.

Friendly, welcoming staff who know the residents and their needs very well. Always willing to go the extra mile to make people comfortable.

Carers and management take all the time needed to make mum feel safe and secure. They notice small changes in mum's abilities as her illness progresses, and implement strategies to assist her more as needed. When a hospital appointment was organised, the staff didn't hesitate to arrange transport etc so everything could run smoothly. Thank you.

Always made welcome when we visit, staff are lovely and professional. Meg loves it at Moorgate Croft and we are so glad she has settled. Her quality of life is so much better than she had living on her own.

From the day mum arrived at Morrgate Croft the staff have been welcoming, helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and they are a happy and friendly group of carers. Mum settled in quickly and loves it! She loves all the activities, has made lots of new friends and thinks the staff are wonderful and that they look after her very well and always have time for her! The home is always clean, bright and well maintained at all times. They involve residents in a variety of activities which are fun and stimulating. In March 2025 they were awarded 'Outstanding' by the QCC - honestly, this came as no surprise and they totally deserve it. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone needing a first class care home for a member of their family. They are simply the best!

My partner has been here since November 2025, he's really happy in here. Overall, I'm so grateful to all staff on his floor. I can go home after a visit and be really satisfied he is looked after properly. He's gained weight, which is a good thing. There is nothing negative I can say about this care home.

Moorgate Croft is an outstanding care home. Everyone from the cleaners to management are friendly, helpful and kind. When Dad moved there in November the staff encouraged him to eat in the dining room and join in the many, varied activities which helped him to settle in and socialise with new people. As Dad deteriorated, the staff worked hard to meet his needs while maintaining his dignity and this enabled him to stay there in comfort until he sadly passed away. Moorgate Croft was not only his home but ours as well and the care they showed Dad also extended to us as a family. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Mum has settled in really well. All the staff have been attentive , caring and supportive. Mum has been encouraged to take part in daily activities which has really helped with making friends and socialising.
