The staff are diligent and treat the residents with such care and dignity. What sets them apart though is how they have looked after all of us as a family, it's more than just the residents who get cared for as my Mum will attest to.
The manager sets high standards for her team but also sets a friendly welcoming tone for the home.
Dad isn't the easiest of people thanks to his Dementia and Alzheimers, but they address all problems with care and compassion. I'm always kept up to date on Dad's behaviour, health etc but any problems or issues are presented with their actions to address the issue as opposed to there being a problem I need to resolve.
The manager's leadership style shines through. All the staff clearly love the work they do. A well-functioning team which benefits the residents immeasurably. I have no reservations in giving a full 5-star rating for everything Moorgate Hollow provides.
The home is always clean, the food is lovely but the real asset is the team of carers - they are so kind, caring and efficient. In my experience, they treat everyone with dignity and respect and I couldn't ask for anything more from them when caring for my dad (and also my nan 10 years ago - so many of the staff are still the same!) I cannot fault the care provided here and the manager is particularly lovely - really approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I'd highly recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone requiring this type of care.
The staff always seem to be cheerful and happy each time we visit, they keep me informed of any changes to mums care and are always helpful.
I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone looking for respectful care for their loved ones.
I can't recommend this care home enough, the staff are incredible, they work so very hard and Mum is always clean, well-presented and well-fed. There are plenty of activities going on and trips organised plus we are free to visit at any time. Fantastic place.
I knew how good the home was because my mum had been a resident some years ago. When my husband needed residential care I naturally chose Moorgate Hollow. I was pleasantly surprised how many of the lovely staff still worked there! The manager is brilliant - genuinely caring and sensitive but very professional. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and make every effort to support individuals - both residents and family members alike. The home is spotlessly clean, the food is varied, appetizing and smells delicious!
My father went into Moorgate Hollow in January of this year. I praise all members of staff from the manager for the amazing job she does to keep the home going nothing is too much for her or her staff to help. She's very polite kind warm-hearted very approachable and amazing with patients and her staff are the same she's a credit to the home. The place would be lost without you. Nursing staff are all warm and welcoming domestics are fantastic when we've had an accident. I can't thank the whole team of staff enough for looking after my father as though he's their own.
Very inviting atmosphere as you walk in.
Staff are always welcome to answer any questions that we need to be answered.
Very happy that we chose this place.
As a family, we couldn’t speak more highly of the staff and environment of Moorgate Hollow. My grandma is extremely happy and settled she speaks very highly of the staff. The home is always very clean and inviting. Highly recommended.
It is undoubtedly the hardest thing I have had to watch, my lovely mum going into a home. It’s difficult for all concerned and made so much harder that Mum just wanted to be in her own home. That was a few months ago, Mum has now settled and seems happy. The staff are great and very accommodating. They are very caring and genuine, which really helps. Mum's room is lovely and kept nice and clean. We have been encouraged to make Mum's space hers and she loves looking at her photos and pictures of her family. Thank you to everyone at the Hollows, such lovely people, led by a great manager.
My husband has been a resident for five months now and I can honestly say it is the best decision we, as a family, made. From our first viewing of the home, we felt so comfortable with what they offered. The staff go way beyond what is expected of them and care so much for all the residents. A very welcoming atmosphere, always greets anyone who is visiting. Bedrooms and communal rooms are decorated lovely and there is a sense of home from home. My husband commented one day ‘they are all so kind and look after me’, this is so reassuring to me and my family. Well done Moorgate Hollow Care Home and thank you.
My mother-in-law moved into Moorgate Hollow one month ago from another care home which myself and her two sons had concerns about. This has to be the best decision we have ever made even though it wasn't easy. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's almost four years ago but has only been in full-time care for 18 months. From the minute of her arrival at Moorgate Hollow, she was made so very welcome. She can sometimes be a little 'down in the dumps' but the management and staff always do their best to perk her up - mainly by encouraging her to sing, as this makes her happy. We have no concerns about her care here, we know she is being very well looked after. Also, when we visit, it's lovely to have chats with the management and staff and see them interacting with the residents. They really are the loveliest people, always happy and there if needed, even though this type of work entails dealing with some challenging behaviour. Well done to all and thank you.
My aunt has been a resident of Moorgate Hollow for more than three years. During this time I have found that I have had an easy relationship with both management and staff. They are a friendly team, easy to talk to, and take the time to discuss any concerns or requests I have had for my aunt. Having a trustworthy relationship with the staff is essential for me as I live overseas and I am reliant on them to provide an excellent standard of care. The staff also support my continued relationship with my aunt as I phone regularly and they take the phone to her and nowadays prompt her to use the phone. My aunt is content at Moorgate Hollow, she is not lonely the way she was in her own home, and her care needs are regularly reviewed and modified to suit her health requirements. Even though her physical abilities and mental capacity have changed over the years, I am grateful that staff take the opportunity to continue to encourage her to use all the skills and abilities that she still has.
My father moved into Moorgate Hollow about 6-weeks ago after a spell in hospital. I didn't know about Moorgate Hollow, and what a joyful, reassuring surprise it was when I saw my dad in his new home. After only a few days, he was relaxed and happy. The staff were very supportive and kind both to him and to me. They answered my questions before I was even asking them. After two and a half long years since my father's dementia diagnosis, I feel that at last, I'm sharing the responsibility with people who understand the condition. I also know how well they manage and reassure my father when he has confused moments. I do believe that my father thinks he's on a lovely holiday. He keeps telling me that "nothing is too much trouble" when he asks for anything, and he feels very safe. The building is very thoughtfully designed. Several lounge areas, a very smart dining room and a protected outdoor space. I only hope my father continues to be this content for the rest of his days.
All the staff I've had the pleasure of meeting are very friendly and extremely helpful. They all genuinely seem to love and care for Mum which totally puts our minds at rest. The double room Mum is in is great and we were allowed to make it like her home and it looks wonderful. Mum thinks she is in a hotel.
Our mum moved into Moorgate Hollow 2 weeks ago. From our first look around and the weekend we spent moving her personal belongings into her room, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Mum has dementia and we knew she would struggle with the move. But after 2 weeks she has settled and seems happy. Her room is beautiful with lots of her own things around her. The staff are all amazing and I am sure this has helped Mum settle so well. They are caring and treat Mum with compassion and dignity. Cannot praise them enough.
Our beautiful mum sadly passed away in the Hollow after living there for 4 years and 8 months. I cannot put into words the gratitude I feel for the love and care Mum received from every member of staff. Their patience, dedication, kindness and supportiveness were exemplary. They wept with us at her passing, which was a testament to the love and affection they felt for her. I now consider them lifelong friends, if not family, and thank them from the bottom of my heart.
I would highly recommend Moorgate Hollow to anyone struggling to find a loving, caring home for their loved one. Outstanding.
We like that the individual bedrooms are a good size and en suite. We would like more open visiting, but we appreciate the home has a difficult balancing act with covid and that residents' safety comes first.
The main thing is that Mum is happy and well looked after at Moorgate Hollow, for which we are very grateful.
Mum has been in Moorgate Hollow for the past 3 years with complex care needs. The staff at Moorgate Hollow have managed Mum's care needs brilliantly keeping me up to date with everything throughout the pandemic which I'm very grateful for. The staff are always very friendly and understand that this is a difficult time and have managed the Covid-19 situation amazingly. Thank you to all at Moorgate Hollow and Park Lane Group for taking great care of Mum.
My nan's been in here throughout lockdown and absolutely loves it here. Everyone is so kind and caring for her. Thank you to everyone who works here for looking after my nan, me and my family we are very grateful.
