View Full Details of Connell CourtAfter a couple of periods of respite at Connell Court (highly recommended for anyone worried about moving into a care home), Mum moved in permanently a few years ago. It has given her an additional family of residents and carers who she is very connected to and with the care and activities they provide, it has vastly improved her quality of life. I was able to join a trip to Llandudno with Mum this week made up of residents, carers and some family members. It was well organized and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Everyone was included and well looked after by the staff. It was a special day!
Staff throughout are friendly, efficient, caring and supportive at all times. My relative does not have one complaint. She is happy and knows that she is in a safe, caring environment. Any health issues are dealt with immediately. We are kept informed. First rate activities on a regular basis, as is the decorations when celebrating an occasion.
Very welcoming, staff are friendly and very approachable. needs of relative always met, relative is happy and feels comfortable living at Connell Court, and also praises staff regularly. Activities and decorations are always really good and well thought through. Good communication from staff.
The staff have been so kind and lovely and really helped Dad settle in. Friendship and care are important to Dad and he has received both in abundance. The staff take into account interests and hobbies. Dad enjoys the weekly Scrabble tournament and other games. Dad loves the garden and even planted bulbs. The friendly neighbourhood cat is a firm favourite too! As a life-long Christian, Dad has been blessed beyond measure with the provision of services and pastoral support. Dad has enjoyed taking part in services, doing readings etc. - residents are very much encouraged to get involved with activities if they would like to. After 3 months Dad has made some lovely friends and especially enjoys all the meals (and yummy cakes and puddings!) - he has gained more confidence and mobility as well as putting on weight. As daughters we are not local and it has been so reassuring for us that Dad is so well cared for and looked after in every way. Cannot recommend Connell Court highly enough
My father came in for respite care. He has been really well looked after. He has made bonds with fellow residents and us very happy here. The home has a "homely" atmosphere, and the rooms are lovely. My father loves the home-cooked food and enjoys participating in the activities.
I attended the summer fair on Saturday 19th July. It was such a warm, friendly and well organised event. Everybody seemed to be having fun. It was a great opportunity to speak to carers, support staff, acquaintancies and family, in a warm and friendly environment. It just adds to my belief that Dad is being really well looked after, stimulated and encouraged in all he does under the exceptional care that Connell Court provides.
Connell Court is a well organised care setting with effective communication between different parts of the care team. The employment of two activity co ordinates says a lot about where the focus for service delivery lies. Carers are responsive and respectful to service users and their families. Mealtimes are well organised with catering staff asking each resident their preference for meals. The option to eat alone in their room is available. There are open events held frequently throughout the year as well as the opportunity for people to go out on a coach trip or stay more local when they go out.
The care that my mother has had from the staff in Connell Court over the last 5+ years has been excellent. Their encouragement to her in her first years there, encouraging her to walk, to keep going was reassuring. The events and activities were always well done, respectful and enjoyable for my mother. In her later years as her needs increased, their attention to detail, personal care, and encouragement reassured me completely that she was in a good place with people who cared for her, as well as taking care of her. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they work very hard.
My mum as a new resident has settled in extremely well, the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is bright and cheerful with a really nice homely atmosphere and very clean too. I can take my mum out for little outings and each time we visit, she always looks well cared for and happy. It is reassuring mum is in safe hands and treated with respect.
My mum came to Connell Court for a period of respite care. She was made to feel welcome and part of the community immediately. Everyone has treated here in a friendly and respectful manner. She was encouraged to participate in the range of activities but also given the space and privacy she needs in her new situation. When asked she said all the staff were helpful and kind. She has also said she is less anxious as there is always someone there to help her if she needs help. Her room is always clean, laundry + personal hygiene of an excellent standard. She has now decided to stay at Connell Court permanently.
My mum has just completed her third respite stay at Connell Court. We can't praise the staff enough for the care they provide. My mum is always happy to go there and, if and when the time comes that she needs more permanent care, we would have no hesitation in using Connell Court. Mum loves her food and the menus are great. She appreciates the kitchen staff and wants to especially record how much she enjoyed all her meals. The activities programme is very good and mum always comes home stimulated and chatting about the things she has got up to. This month she loved the Burns night activity and the chair hockey. It is a massive comfort to me and my sister that she is so well looked after when she is in Connell Court for a temporary stay and I highly recommend the home and the staff for everything they do.

It's been so easy to move my elderly father into Connell Court. All the staff have made each step straight forward. To see the difference in my father is so delightful. He's so happy and content. The weekly programme is fantastic - like being on a cruise ship! The food and menus are welcome and nutritious. I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing he is safe and well cared for.
My sister and I visited Connell Court and immediately had a 'good feeling' about it. Mum was able to go for a few weeks respite and then made the decision to stay. She has been a resident for 8 months now. The staff have been wonderful and are very pro-active, if ever she has any care needs, contacting the GP or relevant people as soon as they perceive a problem. They keep me fully updated on everything that is happening with her care. All the staff are very kind, caring and respectful towards Mum. There is a full programme of activities for her to take part in or not as she wishes. They have also held events involving family and friends, quiz evenings, afternoon tea, cheese and wine evening. We have complete peace of mind that she is in a good place and being well looked after.

If I ever have to go into a care home, Connell Court is the only one I would choose. The staff are lovely and helpful, it's beautiful and clean. I would recommend it to everyone. I don't know about the food as I have never tried it.
There seems to be a multitude of activities organised that residents are able to participate in and these might be recurring as well as specific to an occasion or theme. Staff, residents, and families are able to join in. Food and catering are of top quality and choices are varied. Staff attention to residents seems to be 100% focused but at a level that residents themselves can also decide upon. Really impressed by everything.
