My Mum has been in this care home since October 2025, after moving from another care home which we feel had let our mum down. Ever since the day on moving in, we have had nothing but praise for the staff and facilities at this care home. Mum is so much happier and very well looked after. She has
complex needs and the staff deal with her, with patience and understanding.
10/10 for Westmorland Court.

I couldn't praise this Nursing Home enough for the wonderful care they had given my beautiful Mum who recently passed. They treated her with such care and dignity and I could see that also with the other residents every time I visited which was often. The minute you walked thru the door, you were
made to feel like a friend/part of the Family. I will continue to stop by to say hello as the one good thing with Westmorland is, they have had the same Manager for years (shes a one off!!) most of the staff have been there a long time, not a huge turnover as in other homes, so the residents see the same familiar faces which is so important. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the last 2 years of my Mums life so special.

My wife has been in the care of Westmorland Court since Jan 2025 it gives me great pleasure to write this review from the day my family and i arrived when my wife was admitted it was clear how all the residents are very well cared for. The manager and her entire staff show a commitment that is
without doubt a credit to them all. Despite all the challenges their dedication, kindness and attention to detail goes without question in short they do a wonderful job in my opinion. Oh i must not forget to mention that on my visits i am given a lovely cup of tea and biscuits.
Well done to you all and thank you.

I cannot fault the care and support my grandmother has had since coming to the home. They have provided exceptional care and helped the healing process for a long term problem. They listen to her and show genuine empathy which helped her settle in really quickly.

My Dad was admitted to this marvellous care home last June and has had outstanding care since he arrived. The staff are always about to help and nothing is too much trouble. They are so understanding and patient with my Dad, I feel he is safe and well cared for.
The home has a friendly 'home from
home' feel to it and they're always happy to have visitors.
Big thanks to the manager and all the staff.

My father was taken into a care home recently, and the transition was very good. From the moment we arrived, the whole family were made to feel welcome. The manager and staff treated my father with care and compassion and made him feel at ease. Nothing is too much trouble and has a lovely, homely
and friendly atmosphere, not clinical, which has helped him to settle in well. Any problems are quickly dealt with. Entertainment is also very good, keeping residents stimulated.

My mother-in-law has recently had 2 weeks of respite care at this very friendly well-run care home.
Everyone is so professional and really friendly and made her feel relaxed and well cared for.
The home is so clean and well run and everyone and l mean everyone goes the extra step.
Big thanks to
the manager and all her team and especially the carers.
We definitely will look to return in the future should my mother-in-law need your excellent nursing care.

My mum moved to Westmorland Court in August and is very settled.
We have visited on a number of occasions and she is always well presented and staff are very helpful, kind and respectful to Mum and other residents.
17 November 2023
My wife has been here for four months. The staff are gentle and caring and there are always several carers present to look after the residents. My wife had problems with hygiene and infections when at home, these have all been corrected. The staff put a lot of effort into keeping the residents
entertained for example Halloween, Remembrance Day and birthdays. My wife seems happy and enjoys the company.

Mum moved to Westmorland Court in July. It was not possible for her to stay at home due to her rapidly deteriorating mental and physical health. The move to Westmorland Court happened quickly with the assistance of social services, as it was apparent that Mum was at risk and needed professional care
and support. The manager was fantastic and helped us navigate the process of which we previously knew nothing about.
A family member or friends visit almost every day and Mum’s health has improved more than any of us thought possible. She tells us that she likes all the staff, other residents, and the food. We are now able to take Mum out for cake and coffee, which we feared we would never do again. She loves going out with family but happy to get back to Westmorland Court where she is met by the lovely and caring staff.
As a family, we often discuss just how fortunate we are to have found a place where she is so happy, safe, and thriving.

My wife has recently become a resident of Westmorland Court Care Home. Already she has settled in well and is thriving in the new community. We have lived in the village of Arnside for many years and have brought up our three sons here. Our intention was to see our days out here in the village and
thanks to a vacancy at Westmorland Court it now looks as though our wishes can be realised.
Myself and the family visit daily and we are constantly impressed by the high quality of the staff team led by the highly able manager. Nothing is too much trouble and the team are only too happy to go the extra mile.
My wife's room is bright and airy and the communal areas are frequently a buzz of activity. Sitting outside in the peaceful grounds is a particular pleasure to us all.
We are so lucky to have found a place for my wife in Westmorland Court. We can wholeheartedly recommend it.

My dad has been in residence since April and has settled in well. The manager is excellent and always smiling. All of the team, who I believe do 12-hour shifts, are polite, caring and attentive to the residents.
Many residents have dementia which I know is time-consuming and frankly can be
draining. I speak from experience as my mother had it for many years. They still are treated with the respect they deserve. I visit two or three times a week at various times and always see the same level of care.
Many of the staff are originally from India, Asia Pakistan and the Philippines and I truly believe their culture instils how to respect and look after the elderly.
Visitors are looked after with a friendly smile and a brew, sometimes a biscuit!
My dad loves chatting to everyone that passes his room and they always pop in to say hello even though they're busy. They keep me updated with matters day or night if Dad is unwell.
I recommend Westmorland Court Nursing Home, pop in for a visit.

I am currently staying at this home. I am a physically disabled lady age 60 and a full-time wheelchair user. I find the place clean, well-run and well-equipped. Although primarily a care facility for dementia sufferers there are plenty of places for me to sit and enjoy the facilities away from
others if I want to or sit in the gardens. I am also able to go out during the day and enjoy Arnside. I find the staff helpful kind and caring people. I can also administer my own medication as that is what I do at home. I am glad the staff are able to care for me in a way that enables rather than enforces disability and so respects the people they care for. So I recommend this facility. They even have a jacuzzi bubble bath which I have enjoyed.

My Husband who has Alzheimer's Dementia and other complications entered Westmorland Court Nursing and Care Home in March 2023.
He has had excellent Care. The lovely Staff are Kind, Considerate and very Patient and very understanding about this horrible Disease that robs you of the person you Love.
The food is Very Good and plenty of Drinks. The Lounge has a big TV and the residents are entertained with quizzes, and a lady comes in to get them Singing and Dancing if they want to.
The home is Clean and well kept and my Husband is getting the Care he deserves.
The Management is always on hand to speak to and discuss things with.
I cannot fault Westmorland Court and I am positive I did the right thing for my Husband.

Having visited my good friend, who is a resident in Westmorland Court Nursing Home most weekends over the last six months or so, I am starting to build up a comprehensive overview of the services provided by the care home. To give an example of the person-centred approach to caring which has been
adopted; I was contacted by the home and asked if I would like to attend a Christmas dinner with some of the residents in the weeks running up to the Christmas holidays. I accepted and duly turned up at the appointed time. I was greeted by several staff who were very welcoming and all dressed in festive attire and was escorted to the first-floor dining room. The room was full of residents and their guests in Christmas outfits and sporting party hats. The tables were all beautifully decorated and there was a happy ambience. I was shown to a separate table with my friend who was delighted by the event and to see me. We had our party crackers and a full 3-course Christmas lunch which was enjoyed by all. It was noticeable that the Care Home Manager joined us for lunch and clearly knew all the residents individually as she moved from table to table after the meal. The meal was followed by festive bingo where the care team fully engaged and encouraged the residents to take part helping individuals who were less able. The whole event reminded me of Christmas dinner at home with my grandparents rather than a care home setting. Well done to everyone.

It's not easy watching someone you know so well develop issues that leave them unable to cope for themselves. At such a time you want them to be given the best care possible and for them to be comfortable receiving it.
Within a few months, the sight of a happier and healthier person gives us faith
that we are witnessing the transformation we all hoped for. There is still work to be done, but Westmorland Court Nursing Home are consistently providing the specific care required to give us the confidence that this could be achieved.
I have spoken to members of staff at all levels within the home. They demonstrate a professional level of competence and integrity that gives us much needed reassurance and peace of mind.

My father has been in this home for a number of months now and has settled in very well. Whilst he may not understand much of what is going on, he is happy and believes this is his home. He gets involved with activities and loves the staff. I've been kept informed if there has been a problem, but
staff have resolved matters quickly and kept my father safe.
Always plenty of staff around and always welcoming.

feel welcome when they visit.
