Our Auntie has been in Ashley House for nearly a year now. She has mild dementia and is 96 years old. After her husband died, she spent some very lonely years. Although she was having 2 visits a day by family members, the days were long and boring! Since she has been in Ashley House, she is a
different person! The stimulation from the daily activities has really perked her up. Always happy and smiling, has put on weight due to the lovely meals, and has made some good friends with residents and staff. Her room is always clean and tidy, although she likes to spend most of her day socialising in the lovely conservatory. With only 22 residents, she gets so much care. The staff are always so welcoming when we visit. Clare, the manager, is very devoted to making Ashley House more like a home from home, rather than a regimental care home with no personality. I can't recommend this lovely, cosy, HOME enough.

All in all, a lovely place to live.

Claire the manager has gone above and beyond making the transition for my mum an easy one. Her kindness and compassion have been wonderful.
We look forward to the new relationship we will have with Mum and Ashley house.
We couldn't be more happy with the outcome and mum being homed somewhere
that is so lovely.
Thank you Ashley house and most of all Claire

Ashley House accommodated my husband for 2 weeks' Respite Care. His room was large, overlooking the garden and always clean. The staff at all levels always consider the needs of the residents and the lounge, Conservatory and corridors are kept clean and tidy. Various activities are organised on a
daily basis and residents are encouraged to take part. Wherever you are in the Care Home there is always some kind of music which is greatly enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
I cannot thank the staff enough for this respite care which has enabled me to recharge my batteries and look forward to having my husband home again.

My mother was a resident for about 18 months, a respite user several times previously and said many times that she was very comfortable and happy during her residence. I was very impressed with clean, tidy, bright, peaceful and welcoming atmosphere at Ashley House and mum's room was very pleasant,
well laid out and relaxing with good quality furniture. I found the staff extremely helpful, always very willing to assist me with telephone and video calls to mum and to inform me about mum's health. I was particularly impressed with how the staff ensured they knew mum, understood her needs and behaviour and intergrated her into the "family" of staff and other residents. Also impressive was the frequent entertainment and stimulation provided to the residents. I believe mum was very well looked after and she never indicated to me, despite my many queries to her about her accommodation, care and meals, that she had any negative view at all. I have the highest repect for Ashley House and Staff.

My Mother has been at the home for over 2 years after leaving a previous care home.
The home has various private rooms which are roomy and clean, my mums room also has a toilet room, not quite on suite, but in an another room.
The home has two main seating areas for the residents, one of which
goes out into the garden, I'm not sure how often this is used, but it is for the various activities, that the home puts on, of which they do send videos of, which is a nice touch, the staff are always friendly and I usually get a cup of coffee, which they offer, which makes you feel welcome. The Manager also schedules coffee mornings, which I have yet to go to, but all these things add up to help with interaction with the relatives.

What impresses me most, is that Ashley House feels like a real home and has a lovely dining room, living room and a large conservatory where most activities take place. Staff and the Manager are all friendly and very helpful and keep me informed of dad's care.
Dad has been very happy and enjoys
the company of other residents and staff. Activities are really outstanding and he enjoys a varied programme of events, he particularly enjoys the music and the entertainers who come to the home and perform. It's lovely to hear him singing songs and there is a display of photos on the walls, so we can see what happy times he has had.
His most important activity is food and coffee and I am happy to say that the food is extremely good and he is supplied with endless coffee and biscuits.
A big thank you to the Manager and staff for taking good care of dad and I appreciate all you do,

Ashley House is brilliant. All the staff are lovely and cannot do enough for the residents.
Mum had had a few falls and needed more permanent care, her motivation was low and her mood was lower, she kept saying she wanted to die. She went into Ashley House and has completely changed, she is now
very happy, enjoying all the crafts and activities and looking forward to doing things. She loves the singalongs and the animal visits and always has something new to tell me when I go in.
I cannot thank the manager and her staff enough for the transformation in her.

Mum went to stay in Ashely House for 2 weeks of respite in August. She settled in so well and enjoys the company and activities. The staff are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. When we visit we are made to feel very welcome and feel part of the family there. Mum is a very good cook and
really appreciates the excellent food served at Ashley House. I know she is happy, safe and secure there.

My first impressions of Ashley House were very good. It felt homely, clean and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. My grandmother was offered a beautiful room overlooking the fields. My grandmother was very happy living at Ashley House. She made friends and thoroughly enjoyed all of the
activities provided. Her favourite activities were the regular visits from the singers and karaoke. The staff were always welcoming when I visited. They were all so friendly and I could see how much they genuinely cared for my grandmother and the other residents. It truly felt like a home not just a care setting. My grandmother's cultural needs were always met, ensuring she had regular visits from the priest. I was always kept well informed if my Nan became unwell or needed anything. On the week that my grandmother passed away the staff were so supportive and compassionate. I will never forget the kindness they showed me and the dignity, care and respect they showed my grandmother.

My friend is very happy there.
Made very welcome when you visit.

My mother is very fortunate, and I'm very relieved, that she's in a place that cares for her and looks after her so well.
At Ashley House the staff know the residents and give them the care required. They are trained, and have a natural talent above most people, in handling the situations and
behaviours found in a care home. They also go about their very challenging work with a friendly, positive attitude.
The staff are attentive, but the manager stands out as very proactive. She 'leads from the front' and has levels of energy and enthusiasm that are impressive. She is 'on the case' and works well with her team leaders. She is also very approachable, helpful and willing to listen to ideas and observations.
At Ashley House the individual does matter. My mother is a vegetarian and they cater for her. Her room is kept clean, as are the communal areas such as the conservatory where the various events take place.
My mother is in a good place and cared for by good people.

The staff are friendly, caring and always happy to help. My father receives great care and attention. There is lots going on to entertain and enrich their lives. I am always informed of any issues. I am content that my dad is happy, safe, looked after and his needs are met at Ashley House.

Friendly, happy staff who engage well with my father-in-law. He is always smiling and in communal areas when I've been to see him, rather than isolated in his room, which he was at the previous home.
He has put on weight due to eating well, and he says the food is delicious.
The manager is very
approachable, and everyone working there seems to care, which is the most important thing.
His hair might not always be immaculate, but he is so happy and calls it home, which means so much to us.

I have found that all the staff have, over the past year or so, to be caring and accommodating towards my wife who is a resident with dementia. They have alway been very polite and welcoming when myself or other family members have arrived to visit.
I would have no hesitation in recommending
Ashley Care Home to others.

Ashley House has offered a very caring stay for Mum who has been there for the past 5 weeks. All of the staff are wonderful and genuinely care. They know her at a very individual level, have a great sense of humour and are always gentle, positive and attentive to her. The other residents are happy
and engaged in activities and each other. The food is very good and she enjoys the meals and snacks. I am very happy about the care that Mum receives and we feel very welcome when we visit.

The care my mum receives is brilliant. If there are any issues they will contact us and let us know exactly what's going on. Nothing is too much trouble. Birthdays and Christmas are hard times of the year but the staff at Ashley House makes these easier.
31 January 2024
Mum has been in Ashley House for five months now, she has dementia and falls very frequently. Most of the staff I have found to be so caring and thoughtful, going above and beyond, even comforting us! They treat Mum as a normal adult and see past the person dementia has made her. They have patience
with her and pass the time away with a smile and a chat. We all wish Mum wouldn’t fall, staff included, but it cannot be helped it is dementia and I would never question the staff’s care. If I have raised an issue it has always been rectified promptly. Today was Mum's 89th birthday and she was thoroughly spoilt by all. Thank you for looking after her when we can’t be there. She is one special lady.
