Ashley House

Very nervous on how our sister, with early onset Alzheimer's, transition from a London hospital to a country care home, would cope, Ashley House staff were not only professional, but caring and compassionate with our situation. Everything and everyone, was ready for our girl, and since that day in mid August, she has settled in well and improved immensely in the last four weeks. We, her siblings can lower our guard for the first time in nine months, not just because she is close by and we can see and visit her now, but because Ashley House has given us confidence over her care. Their experience in Dementia Care is invaluable. So many activities going on that our sister can join in or return to her own room as she chooses. We found the staff to be very friendly and understanding over the smallest detail. And in our sisters own words 'I Love it here', we highly recommend Ashley House, for professional, compassionate, caring.

My aunt, who was suffering from dementia, lived at Ashley House for several years. She was treated with compassion + understanding. Her room was pleasant and she enjoyed the food very much. Our family is very grateful to the management + staff, thank you.

We visited the home prior to Keith becoming a resident, we were so impressed with Claire and the rest of the team, how friendly & professional they all are. The food looks amazing and Keith likes the pudding. The staff are accommodating his needs and you can see how well they interact with him. They also keep us so well informed with regards to how Keith is. Keith is taking part in the activities and really enjoyed the quiz

My 92-year-old mother recently moved into Ashley House after many years of living independently with carers visiting three times a day. For a long time, she preferred spending most of her days alone but as everyday activities became more difficult, it was no longer safe for her to live alone.

I have been so relieved and pleased by how well she has settled in. Clare and all the staff have been incredibly caring, patient, and supportive, working hard to help her adjust. Most amazingly, they have encouraged her to join in social activities, something I never thought possible. Clare has even sent me videos, and it is wonderful to see my mother smiling, participating, and far more physically and mentally active than she has been for years.

I feel completely confident that everyone caring for my mother is giving her the very best quality of life and helping her enjoy her time in comfort, dignity, and happiness.

Our Auntie has been in Ashley House for nearly a year now. She has mild dementia and is 96 years old. After her husband died, she spent some very lonely years. Although she was having 2 visits a day by family members, the days were long and boring! Since she has been in Ashley House, she is a different person! The stimulation from the daily activities has really perked her up. Always happy and smiling, has put on weight due to the lovely meals, and has made some good friends with residents and staff. Her room is always clean and tidy,although she likes to spend most of her day socialising in the lovely conservatory. With only 22 residents, she gets so much care. The staff are always so welcoming when we visit. Clare,the manager, is very devoted to making Ashley House more like a home from home, rather than a regimental care home with no personality. I can't recommend this lovely, cosy, HOME enough.

Very attentive staff. Excellent and varied activities, twice every day. My aunt is very happy there and we'll cared for. Any problems and the staff keep the rest of the family informed. Excellent room and good views.

I cannot thank the staff enough for this respite care which has enabled me to recharge my batteries and look forward to having my husband home again.

My mother was a resident for about 18 months, a respite user several times previously and said many times that she was very comfortable and happy during her residence. I was very impressed with clean, tidy, bright, peaceful and welcoming atmosphere at Ashley House and mum's room was very pleasant, well laid out and relaxing with good quality furniture. I found the staff extremely helpful, always very willing to assist me with telephone and video calls to mum and to inform me about mum's health. I was particularly impressed with how the staff ensured they knew mum, understood her needs and behaviour and intergrated her into the "family" of staff and other residents. Also impressive was the frequent entertainment and stimulation provided to the residents. I believe mum was very well looked after and she never indicated to me, despite my many queries to her about her accommodation, care and meals, that she had any negative view at all. I have the highest repect for Ashley House and Staff.

The home has two main seating areas for the residents, one of which goes out into the garden, I'm not sure how often this is used, but it is for the various activities, that the home puts on, of which they do send videos of, which is a nice touch, the staff are always friendly and I usually get a cup of coffee, which they offer, which makes you feel welcome. The Manager also schedules coffee mornings, which I have yet to go to, but all these things add up to help with interaction with the relatives.

Mum went to stay in Ashely House for 2 weeks of respite in August. She settled in so well and enjoys the company and activities. The staff are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. When we visit we are made to feel very welcome and feel part of the family there. Mum is a very good cook and really appreciates the excellent food served at Ashley House. I know she is happy, safe and secure there.

My first impressions of Ashley House were very good. It felt homely, clean and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. My grandmother was offered a beautiful room overlooking the fields. My grandmother was very happy living at Ashley House. She made friends and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities provided. Her favourite activities were the regular visits from the singers and karaoke. The staff were always welcoming when I visited. They were all so friendly and I could see how much they genuinely cared for my grandmother and the other residents. It truly felt like a home not just a care setting. My grandmother's cultural needs were always met, ensuring she had regular visits from the priest. I was always kept well informed if my Nan became unwell or needed anything. On the week that my grandmother passed away the staff were so supportive and compassionate. I will never forget the kindness they showed me and the dignity, care and respect they showed my grandmother.

The staff are friendly, caring and always happy to help. My father receives great care and attention. There is lots going on to entertain and enrich their lives. I am always informed of any issues. I am content that my dad is happy, safe, looked after and his needs are met at Ashley House.

His hair might not always be immaculate, but he is so happy and calls it home, which means so much to us.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashley Care Home to others.
