Very nervous on how our sister, with early onset Alzheimer's, transition from a London hospital to a country care home, would cope, Ashley House staff were not only professional, but caring and compassionate with our situation. Everything and everyone, was ready for our girl, and since that day in mid August, she has settled in well and improved immensely in the last four weeks. We, her siblings can lower our guard for the first time in nine months, not just because she is close by and we can see and visit her now, but because Ashley House has given us confidence over her care. Their experience in Dementia Care is invaluable. So many activities going on that our sister can join in or return to her own room as she chooses. We found the staff to be very friendly and understanding over the smallest detail. And in our sisters own words 'I Love it here', we highly recommend Ashley House, for professional, compassionate, caring.

Lavender Court Care Home at Perranporth in Cornwall is a loving friendly home for all residents. My Dad has been here for two and half years and we as family could not ask for a better place, home from home! Not only is my Dad well looked after with care and love but as a family visiting him, we are made equally welcome. Our mum became a resident of Manor Court in November 2025 and although it was a difficult decision we knew it was the right place for her. In just a short time mum got into the swing of life at her new home and really started to flourish. She was happy and being stimulated by the activities. Mum had a fantastic relationship with the staff and she was well cared for right up to her passing in July. We as a family always felt listened to and were kept informed of how mum was doing and the staff were extremely proactive when mum took an unfortunate turn for the worst. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Manor Court as we couldn't have asked for better care for mum during her 9 month stay.

My Aunt Monica Smith was a resident at Ashfield for several years. All the time she was there we felt that she was very well cared for and loved by all the team. The staff led by Nellie were always brilliant; Mon was a cheeky lady and enjoyed teasing her favourites. The home was always busy with lots going on and lots of activities and whereas Mon wasn't always an enthusiastic participator she always loved Christmas. At the end of all our visits we always felt comforted knowing Mon was in such wonderful care

My wife has been a resident of Manor House for just over a year prior to the date of this review. It was a difficult decision to make but the management and staff made sure that my wife settled in and supported both of us during the transition. I belive my wife now sees the staff and residents as her 'family'. She has built a close relationship with the staff and particularly those many staff members who were there when my wife first arrived. A recently appointed staff member is responsible for arranging activities for the residents. These activities are imaginative and stimulate both physical and mental capacity. The management team are committed to providing good quality care and create a positive environment for residents and family. Over the year, the Home has received significant investment in the building, equipment and grounds. I am happy that my wife is receiving the support and care that she needs as a resident of the Manor House Care Home.

It was my mother's 104th birthday last week and Jane (the new Activities Co-ordinator) did the most wonderful job setting up a little afternoon tea party in the garden outside Mum's room. She was so thoughtful and provided balloons, sandwiches, pastries and cakes (including a birthday cake with candles). There were juices and low alcohol Prosecco as well as tea and coffee. She even brought in some of her own equipment to make sure it was all beautifully elegant. At the event she helped serve the guests (there were 14 of us) and really took everything off my shoulders - I can't thank her enough for being so organised, friendly and supportive. She is definitely a great asset to The Firs.

It's been lovely to see how much happier my nan is since coming to Michaelstowe. She enjoys all the activities and taking part in the 1000 mile challenge. Nan has built good relationships with all staff, who treat her with dignity and respect.

My aunt, who was suffering from dementia, lived at Ashley House for several years. She was treated with compassion + understanding. Her room was pleasant and she enjoyed the food very much. Our family is very grateful to the management + staff, thank you.

my dad went into Lavender Court initially for respite care while I was on holiday. But due to his dementia and frailty along with medical needs, is now a Permanent resident. He has settled in well and told me he likes it there. That is good to hear. He joins in some of the many organised activities including the karaoke and even went to Exeter on a day out to join in the charity walk (wheelchair) He had a big smile on his face in the photos, that was lovely to see. The staff are all very caring to both residents and family and friends that visit. It's a relief that he is now Safe and being well looked after by the wonderful staff.

Our dear friend was with the team at Manor Court for a year before he died. The care and love the team showed him was extraordinary. He was so happy there, they accommodated his love of gardening by allowing him to suggest things in the garden and put up murals he painted. I cannot explain how caring the staff were, it was hugely comforting to us. I would recommend the home to everyone, it's clean and well laid out and feels extremely welcoming. But the main praise is for the people, their hard work and genuine care of the residents is a joy, heart warming and very special.

Overall myself and my sister are delighted with our choice for dad.

We visited the home prior to Keith becoming a resident, we were so impressed with Claire and the rest of the team, how friendly & professional they all are. The food looks amazing and Keith likes the pudding. The staff are accommodating his needs and you can see how well they interact with him. They also keep us so well informed with regards to how Keith is. Keith is taking part in the activities and really enjoyed the quiz

It was a hard decision to put mum in a care home and im really pleased mum ended up in this care home and will without hesitation recommend to anyone

My mum has been a resident at the home for 15 months, and recently had her 99th birthday. Unfortunately her mobility is very poor, with her sustaining many falls. The staff have been very attentive to her many needs, and should be commended for the care they give.

They treated him with empathy and dignity. He is now a permanent resident and under their care is now happier and thriving.

Following a hospital admission after a fall and temporary delirium resulting from a combination of dehydration, infection and antibiotics as well as physical frailty, my mum was temporarily placed in this care home to convalesce. The staff have been friendly and professional throughout and have looked after my mum very well. She herself has told me that they are very good. Out of the categories below 5 out of 5 in all except two which I rated 4 out of 5. Personal dignity because my mum felt slightly uncomfortable when she was washed or dressed by male members of staff though I told her this sort of thing is common in care settings. Happens in hospital all the time. And safety and security because there was a minor issue with the door to her room which was nevertheless quickly resolved.

The care staff that I have met were kind and helpful but there are not enough. Residents sometimes have to wait for a very long time for anyone to answer their bell. I appreciate carers can be tied up with a resident who is unable to do anything for themselves but my friend is paying for a service she is not getting.

We truly appreciate the time, care, and effort that all the staff put into looking after our mum. It means a lot to our family.
