View Full Details of Birchwood Court Residential Care HomeFrom day one my nan was greated by some wonderful staff from manager, receptionist and all care staff. We were amazed at how Nan has settled in, also how they have all achieved to get her personal care back to where she was. She is settling in well thanks so much to all the dedicated staff.
Since mam moved into Birchwood all staff have been great, friendly, kind & helpful when needed. Always plenty of activities for everyone to join in and enjoy including family and friends. The manager is a great manager and doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work :)
Since moving in Borchwood everyone has ben lovely and patient while I have been setling in I have enjoyed all the entertainment so far and luck forward to future events. Keep up the good work everyone.
From the first visit I have experienced a friendly professional attitude from all the staff. Mum has been made to feel cared for and made very welcome. Mum is eating much better now and overall less anxious. On a personal level I coudldn't ask for any more, I feel completely at ease and confident in the happy, caring environment she is living.
Pleasant and friendly staff and residents. The room has plenty of room with a light big window, room for a comfy chair to watch TV and happy that I can have some of my personal familiar belongings. We have activities and outings planned which I enjoy. I have my hair done at our own haridressers every Friday.
From first look around we knew this was the place for our Nan. The day she was booking in she was aprehenise about getting out care but the staff we incredibly talking to her and reasuring her she went in no problem. Nothing is a problem with the staff every single person is so kind and caring. My nan has dementia and at home her personal care was slipping the first 2 days at Birchwood and she let the girls attend to personal care - hair cut and nails clipped. We cannot thank the manager and his staff enough we feel like they are looking after our nan like she is there own family :)
Very happy with management & staff they look after me very well. Activities at moment good.
My mam has said Birchwood Court is a very good home. Only problem she has is the no smiking facilities if Right staff on shift they will take her outside. Enjoys her baths from staff. Only problem with room is the bed originally had Profileing bed and was taken away
Care home is nice and clean. Staff treat residents and visitors with respect and a welcoming approach. I feel the home is a safe and secure place for our family member. All staff are happy to help with anything I ask for with a prompt reply. Their manner is always professional and polite.
The home has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are all great very caring.
My mother has been a permanent resident since February 2025. She has a lovely bright room which is always spotlessly clean. The staff are always polite and helpful and don't mind what time of day I visit or how long I stay. Although mam doesn't always join in with the activities the staff do their best to get her to join in.
Mam has only resided at Birchwood for 5 weeks, but she has constantly said how lovely all of the staff are, and how much they all do for her. She was unsettled at first, understandably as she had come from hospital discharge to the care home, but we were constantly helped by the staff in the task of trying to settle her, and make her feel comfortable. In recent weeks staff have encouraged her to attend some of the activities in the home, knit and natter, and cake making, and she has enjoyed them. She is beginng to accept Birchwood will be her home now. The manager has been instrumental in helping too by enabling mam to move rooms at short notice.
The main point is staff take time to listen! Always try to help where they can and give support. My mum has been in Birchwood for 18 months approx. Since the new manager has started things are improving everyday and the residents are a heart always trying to make there stay here safe and comfortable. If I every do have any concerns there is always someone to listen and help. Birchwood is a lovely residential home.
My mother has had an illness during January and I must say the care she has received has been excellent as always. It is reassuring to me to know that when I am not there she is receiving 24 hour care of such a high standard. It is a well run care home with the wellbeing of residents at its heart.
It's fair to say, within the last few weeks, the changes that have been made are very noticeable. Making more use of the cinema room. Entertainment for the residents has been stepped up and the staff seem to be more engaged. I know it's early days and lots of changes are in the pipeline. Looking forward to the home's future.
My mam has settled in well and is happy in her new home. Herself and her family can approach all staff on any concerns and are always given attention and respect. To be able to ask anything and be given answers gives her family peace of mind and knowledge that she is safe and cared for on all levels.
Our mum was admitted to Birchwood Court Residential Care Home for 24-hour dementia care following a rapid deterioration of her condition. Every single member of staff that we came into contact with, from managers, senior and junior carers, cleaners and handymen, was amazing. The care and compassion shown to our mum was of an extremely high level. Unfortunately, after a month in the home, Mum was placed on end-of-life care and died within a week. The end-of-life care provided at the home was exceptional, Mum was kept comfortable throughout, and we were informed and involved with every part of her care, even when we were not there, a member of staff was sitting in her room with her. We will forever be grateful to the kind, caring staff that made our mum's last days peaceful.
Excellent service, lovely, friendly staff.
Mother appears well, happy and interacting with others. Staff are exceptional with their support and their medical intervention and support of family.
Lovely care home, at Easter there were lots of Easter eggs for the residents, colouring in, photo’s taken with big blown-up bunnies, and Easter cards made with the photos and sent to the families on an Easter card it was beautiful. The staff are lovely and welcoming and always there to talk to.
