View Full Details of Alexander Court Care CentreWhile we appreciate the essential care provided at Alexander Court - including feeding, medication, and hygiene - we've been left disappointed by the lack of support when it comes to our relative's rehabilitation. We requested just 10 minutes a day to assist her with physio exercises, but were told bluntly that staff "don't have the time." What's especially frustrating is that during our visits, we've frequently seen several staff members standing around in the corridors, chatting loudly. It's hard to accept that there's no time for a brief, meaningful intervention when there's clearly downtime. Not only does this idle chatter seem like a waste of valuable care time, it may also cause unnecessary distress for residents who need calm environments. Alexander Court gets the basics right, but falls short on compassionate, person-centred care beyond the bare minimum.
My husbands mum/ my mother-in-law stayed in Alexander Court for 8 weeks after having 2 conservative falls over a 4 week period, resulting in fractures in both legs & ankles and needed care and rehabilitation to help her back on her feet. She is 94 years old, lives independently, completely of sound mind and can be stubborn as an ox when it comes to determination. Always able to care personally and practically for herself. From showering, cooking, cleaning, nothing stopped her. When we arrived, We were greeted with the biggest smiles that immediately put her/ us at ease. When shown to her room, members of staff introduced themselves,. She stayed 8 weeks in total, in that time, cared for impeccably with grace, understanding, kindness and most importantly total respect. All the staff are amazing. The door is always open so we could visit whenever we wanted, day or night. That to me, says it all. Thankyou Alexander Court.
My dad was with you for the last 4 days of his life and we couldn't have been happier with the treatment both he and ourselves received. The staff were friendly and kind and we were confident that when we left his side they looked after him well. We cannot recommend this home highly enough for his end of life care. Thank you.
My mother spent 14 days here recently. Mum is almost 95 years old. The respite was really for me, however she came out so much more sprightly than when she went in. She had clearly developed a rapport with all of the staff and it was obvious that this was mutual. I can only praise all of the staff there and thank them for such wonderful work. Skills with elderly people are not always easy but anyone who is good at their job makes it look easy and that was the vision I saw on the day that I came to pick Mum up to take her home. 10/ 10 for all the staff at Alexander Court and a big thank you to all of you.
Our friend spent more than 2 years in Alexander Court Care Home, entering during Covid times was difficult for all concerned but gradually the decor, activities and facilities have improved. A constant during the whole time though has been the high standard of care. None more so than during the final days and hours, the sensitivity, respect and dignity extended was exemplary, for which we are grateful and very thankful. Residents can enjoy a varied activity programme, the photos of them participating is helpful for family and friends and prompts conversation topics. The regular management consultations with residents' relatives to discuss any concerns are very helpful.
Thank you very much for looking after my brother for 2 weeks. The staff were very good to him, he was very happy. I hope to send him back soon.
My mum joined in with the activity, today it was cheese, crackers and wine. The ladies were wonderful with all the residents, chatting to them all, helping them get good and wine. My mum enjoyed herself.
The staff is always cheerful and helpful. Overall my wife is very happy and well looked after.
Since my wife has been here I have found everything good, looked after well and also have been kind to me by feeding me lunch with my wife together.
Made welcome from arriving at the home. Very clean and friendly. Any problems are sorted that day, good food and lots of choice and diet needs are catered for. Friendly staff, greeted by all, would recommend to others. Made the room like home and everyone always helpful.
What can one say, the staff and management of Alexander Court Care Centre were fantastic, although my cousin was there only a week. Myself and husband were treated like family. Kind and helpful at all times bluebell unit is where my dear cousin was and he was treated with respect at all times. Kept clean and any wishes he had upheld, the day before he passed he said he was comfy and how quiet the unit was.
My brother was treated very well at the care home. The staff were brilliant. The care home was friendly and caring. Well done Alexander Court Care Centre and a big thank you from all the family.
Amazing staff and management. Have been very supportive throughout the time my mother has been there. The staff have cared and supported Mum and made her feel safe and happy. Our family would like to say thank you to the team and management for everything.
Our family cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave Dad. We were all apprehensive about our dad going into a care home for respite but he went in a poorly man and came out to being our dad again and that is all because of the care he was given. From the management to the cleaning staff, you are all brilliant.
The staff at the Alexander Court Care Centre were brilliant looking after my mother in her last few months. The management and staff running the home have a very professional and caring attitude. My mother passed away in a comfortable and peaceful environment.
I would recommend Alexander Court to friends and family as it was recommended to me. Any problems with my husband's care were discussed by myself and the staff and the answer, I am pleased to say, was found. The friendly and welcoming staff are to be praised for their ongoing care for all their patients.
Very professional staff and also a very good manager. Excellent care is given to all residents and very helpful if there are any problems.
Well, I recently left this place after an almost 2-month respite and at first, I hated it, because I wasn't used to the change, but the first night I asked one of the nurses if they could help me get back to the hospital I came from, and she managed to calm me down and I spent my first night there. For me with anxiety and depression it was hard, but the fact that it was so quiet and homely, helped a lot. If you come here and are under their care, then you are in great hands as I met both managers from the get-go, and they both were super nice and supportive of my needs. If you find yourself under the care of some of the staff from Bluebell Unit, then you're in luck! I absolutely loved my stay there and lord knows I wasn't an easy person for them! But they helped me either way and the cleaners to the kitchen staff were all so great. The night staff as well, equally as lovely; several in particular and whoever else took great care of me during the night; I thank you.
My father was a resident at Alexandra Court Care Centre. My family visited him and every time he was in clean clothes. His room was hazard-free. The room was well ventilated. Alexandra Court Care Centre staff are friendly, always attentive, and reported back to the family about his needs and feeding progress. They communicated directly with him even when I visited and it was pleasing to see how much confidence he held on to the staff and carers at Alexandra Court Care Centre. From managing his medication up to facilitating his hospital appointments Alexandra Court Care Centre staff were brilliant. I was really touched by the way they go the extra mile in their service.
The staff were pleasant and cared for my mum. The restrictions and red tape regarding visiting were initially onerous for a resident in respite care but this was overcome and mum appeared in good spirits. Mum's care in respite allowed me to respond to other family issues that came up and have a short break myself.
