I am extremely happy with the care my mum has received at this care home.
Every member of staff, from the management team to the carers and nurses, has been professional, compassionate and genuinly caring
My mum is always clean, comfortable and treated with dignity and respect. It gives me great peace of mind knowing she is so well looked after

A special thank you to Azizul, Abel, Marinde from the nurses team. The management team is also excellent and I truly appreciate everything they do.

Mum was a resident at the care home for over 5 years. She was very unsure to start with but soon settled and praised the staff for all their hard work. The staff were very friendly and approachable, and appeared caring, attentive, and patient. She was bedridden due to her disability so spent all her time in her room and didn't partake in any activities.
We had a few issues with food, however, management addressed this and eventually this was adapted to suit mums needs and there was always plenty of it!
The home is old and this is reflected in the decor but it's very clean. Towels and bedding are clean, but old, discoloured, small tears and mismatched. The room is very basic. We could decorate the room for mum and add things to make it more homely and comfortable. Mum always looked clean and her room was tidied daily.

Never an easy task to move a relative into a home, but mum was happy and content under the care of the the staff here so was reassuring when leaving after each visit.

Always friendly and helpful staff can't do enough for you. My sister is always smart, medication on time, food plentiful and variety good. Staff arrange special evenings and afternoon clubs which help to keep them active. Overall pleased with everything.

My mum's final months at Alexandra Court were heartbreaking, and I deeply regret she spent her last days here. The care was unacceptable. As a vegetarian, her meals were a joke-usually just food covered in cheese sauce. They once even served her a microwaved beetroot and cheese sandwich.
Basic hygiene was neglected; we often found her in filthy bedding and unchanged clothes. Call bells were ignored for ages by indifferent staff. Most devastating was the lack of empathy when she passed away. One staff member actually told us, "we all have to go sometime," while management demanded we clear her room within 48 hours. Only one person showed any real compassion.

This home lacks basic dignity and professional standards. If you want your loved one to be treated with respect and stay clean and fed, do not send them here. The "care" provided was cold, lazy, and deeply disrespectful to a vulnerable woman and her grieving family.

I found all the staff friendly, caring and compassionate. My friend did not join in any activities or go to the dining room. Any medical issues that arose were dealt with appropriately. She had a meeting with staff and a hospice doctor who decided she needed 'end of life care', so she was moved to a different ward in the home. She passed away peacefully.

We regularly visit my aunt following her decision to remain at Alexander Court after previously having spent some time in hospital after a fall.

She is comfortable and content with her new home, and when we visit, she is relaxed and is well fed, and treated respectfully by the staff. We see that she is well-liked, and the staff always make us feel welcome. We are happy that she is well looked after. We would wish she had more interaction with other residents, but because she is bed-bound, this is not possible.

My Dad spent the last 3 and a half years at Alexander Court up until he passed away at the end of September. We could not thank the staff enough for the excellent treatment and care he received during the time he spent there. In his final days the staff were very supportive and caring and helped us in every way they could, this is something that we will always remember and are so grateful for this.
From the moment you step in the door all staff are so welcoming, the reception staff, cleaners, cooks etc all take the time to say 'hello' and to make conversation. The nursing staff and support staff are so kind and caring and take the time to get to know relatives. There is an open door policy which really says it all, they have nothing to hide.

Its the hardest thing to have to place a loved one in a care home but I would recommend this one to anybody.

Review from Gary C (Relative of Resident) published on 8 July 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
While we appreciate the essential care provided at Alexander Court - including feeding, medication, and hygiene - we've been left disappointed by the lack of support when it comes to our relative's rehabilitation. We requested just 10 minutes a day to assist her with physio exercises, but were told bluntly that staff "don't have the time."
What's especially frustrating is that during our visits, we've frequently seen several staff members standing around in the corridors, chatting loudly. It's hard to accept that there's no time for a brief, meaningful intervention when there's clearly downtime. Not only does this idle chatter seem like a waste of valuable care time, it may also cause unnecessary distress for residents who need calm environments.

Alexander Court gets the basics right, but falls short on compassionate, person-centred care beyond the bare minimum.

Reply from Abi SANUSI, Manager at Alexander Court Care Centre

We are sorry that the 10 minutes physio exercise request did not materialise. However, we aim to provide better service to all our resident and ensure a comfortable stay. Please make out time to speak to the manager if a request cannot be met at unit level.

My husbands mum/ my mother-in-law stayed in Alexander Court for 8 weeks after having 2 conservative falls over a 4 week period, resulting in fractures in both legs & ankles and needed care and rehabilitation to help her back on her feet. She is 94 years old, lives independently, completely of sound mind and can be stubborn as an ox when it comes to determination. Always able to care personally and practically for herself. From showering, cooking, cleaning, nothing stopped her. When we arrived, We were greeted with the biggest smiles that immediately put her/ us at ease. When shown to her room, members of staff introduced themselves,.
She stayed 8 weeks in total, in that time, cared for impeccably with grace, understanding, kindness and most importantly total respect. All the staff are amazing.
The door is always open so we could visit whenever we wanted, day or night. That to me, says it all.

Thankyou Alexander Court.

My dad was with you for the last 4 days of his life and we couldn't have been happier with the treatment both he and ourselves received. The staff were friendly and kind and we were confident that when we left his side they looked after him well. We cannot recommend this home highly enough for his end of life care. Thank you.

My mother spent 14 days here recently. Mum is almost 95 years old. The respite was really for me, however she came out so much more sprightly than when she went in. She had clearly developed a rapport with all of the staff and it was obvious that this was mutual. I can only praise all of the staff there and thank them for such wonderful work. Skills with elderly people are not always easy but anyone who is good at their job makes it look easy and that was the vision I saw on the day that I came to pick Mum up to take her home. 10/ 10 for all the staff at Alexander Court and a big thank you to all of you.

Reply from Abi SANUSI, Manager at Alexander Court Care Centre

It was a great pleasure to have her with us on respite. She made it very easy to look after her as she would have a laugh with everyone after throwing banter at the staff. We look forward to having her again.

Our friend spent more than 2 years in Alexander Court Care Home, entering during Covid times was difficult for all concerned but gradually the decor, activities and facilities have improved. A constant during the whole time though has been the high standard of care. None more so than during the final days and hours, the sensitivity, respect and dignity extended was exemplary, for which we are grateful and very thankful. Residents can enjoy a varied activity programme, the photos of them participating is helpful for family and friends and prompts conversation topics. The regular management consultations with residents' relatives to discuss any concerns are very helpful.
