My husband & I intended to have a pleasant visit with my sister-in-law who is a resident. Immediately we were warmly greeted and asked if we were there to visit and join in the Summer BBQ. This occasion was so well organised even hats distributed for those who wanted to come and gather outside in the garden. The chef cooked and supervised the BBQ and staff and friends helped to serve all! Then the guest singer soon had us all tapping our feet or doing a hand-jive, and as all residents were enjoying the familiar songs even some of the carers were able to show off their dancing moves with friends & family! Even the weather stayed fine for all to relax! A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon together. Well done to the events & activities team with the hands on help of all the staff, family & friends. A class atmosphere!

From when you arrive, you are made welcome by Tracy and Tanya. The management and care staff are very good too. Always pleasant to talk too. It seems a good choice for the welfare of the residents, I would recommend Brook House to anyone needing professional help.

Overall Experience

All the staff at Birch Park have been so caring, kind and compassionate throughout my mum's end of life stay at the home. Mum was treated with dignity and love at all times and I myself was treated as part of her care package, always someone checking in with me, feeding me during a long stay and comforting me when I needed it. Rooms are bright, clean and well appointed for short or long stays. Communal areas feel welcoming and the garden is a lovely area with seating in sun or shade. I would definitely recommend Birch Park Care Home to anyone looking for a safe, caring environment for a loved one.

It's a wonderful and Caring Care Home ,I would like to take a moment to say how grateful I am for all the wonderful staff at the care home the carers are so caring, patient and compassionate, and they treat the residents with so much kindness, dignity and respect.
I also want to give a special mention to the manager who is always approachable, supportive and genuinely cares about the residents and their wellbeing. It is comforting to know that my twin sister is being looked after by people who truly care about her.

I recently spent the day with my sister and was so happy to see how welcoming everyone was. I was even able to spend some time doing the my sister nails, and it was beautiful to see her faces light up and how happy and special it made her feel,the staff are all so encouraging and welcoming throughout my visits, there, it means so much to our family to know that my sister is in a place where she is cared for, respected and surrounded by people who go that extra mile,thanks

My sister had to come into Richmond Court in Willington for emergency respite after being discharged from hospital until a care package was arranged for her at home. Mum has really settled well into this care home. This is her 4th care home as her previous placements have not been able to meet her needs due to her behaviour. She said she is "very happy". Staff are very accommodating and are keen to ensure mum remains happy.

Activities - not used due to my physical abilities.
Some staff do not speak English when they work in my room even when I have asked them to and cleaning my backside properly.
Failures happend in equipment such as catheter leakings.

Sometimes the food sounds lovely but tastes revolting.

I recently visited a friend in Sycamore Park. Everything about the care home seemed lovely. A very warm welcome from all the staff that I met whist I was there.
The bedroom was very nice, spacious and well equipped.
Everywhere that I went was spotlessly clean and looked a bit like being in a posh hotel.
I know that my friends family are delighted with the standard of care received.

If I need to go into a care home in the future them I hope it is like this one.

My dad moved from Brancepeth Court to Lumley in May, and Dad and I are absolutely delighted! Every single member of staff are excellent, they are so kind and caring to every resident and always treat them with total respect. The staff regularly bathe/shower, wash residents and make them comfortable for the day ahead. Residents are helped to the dining table for each meal and some are helped to eat. I go to see Dad regularly and can't help hearing interactions between staff and residents and, honestly, staff constantly reassure residents constantly. I know my dad and everyone are well looked after. The home/rooms are spotless too, the cleaners are great as are the laundry ladies. Food is very good. The manager, Kelly, is extremely approachable & strives to make the home a great place to live & work.

I am so happy to write this positive review. My husband is in this care home which I attend to visit almost daily. I have nothing but praise for every member of the team from the Manager, admin, nursing team, cleaners, carers. And activity team. I have attended at various times and am always greeted with a smile. My husband is happy and has positively progressed with the care and attention he has received he is always clean his clothes are washed and returned at super speeds. The premises does not smell like some other homes I have attended. The building is kept pristine it shows the cleaning team are happy and proud of the environment. The Manager is doing a fantastic job motivating her team and she should be proud. It also takes a lot of pressure off the family knowing your loved ones are happy and cared for.

I have always been grateful for the exceptional care and kindness shown to my mother during her time at Southwell Court. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with dignity, respect and genuine compassion by every member of staff. I would highly recommend Clarendon house. My husband is receiving wonderful,compassionate care and is kept so clean and comfortable. The manager is fantastic and very caring. This care home is so nice the staff and manager can not do enough for the residents and the families in the home. The rooms are a lovely size. There are different activities everyday but our friend in the home did not take park in any. The care home is always so clean. Our friend is happy in this home which is so nice knowing and she always says how lovely the staff are to her. It's so nice to know that when we leave our friend she is well looked after and getting the right care she needs and is happy. Thank you Hawthorns care home the manager and all the staff.

My friend Muriel joined Hawthorns care home last Thursday and has been happy living there since then. She tells me every visit that everyone there is so lovely. She tells me about her food being so nice and she wishes she could eat it all but she cat eat much. This care home is her second care home and the change in Muriel's mood is massive I am so pleased that she is now feeling happy, safe and cared for.

My Mum is located on Victoria suite and the care given to my mum is outstanding, My mum is so happy there and she knows the staff and the staff knows my mum, if my Mum is not in a good mood or get aggressive, the staff will leave her alone to calm down and then will go back to her after 10mins, the only concern is no communication from the staff if mum has run out of toiletries but other than this everything else is fine.
