The Coppice Nursing Home

from Esther H (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 September 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The Coppice is a very relaxed and friendly ho,e, clean and with a great atmosphere. The staff were always cheerful and helpful. and looked after mum so I knew she was in safe hands. The nursing staff were brilliant, on top of mum's medical needs and always answering any questions I had about her conditions.
In particular during mum's final weeks she was treated with great dignity and respect and ensured she was comfortable to the very end.

Ashurst Park Care Home

from Clare C (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has been in Ashurst for approximately 4 years. In her time there Mum did demonstrate some challenging behaviours and could be emotionally variable. But the staff got to know her so well and knew what she enjoyed (music, being in the garden) as well as what frustrated and upset her. They were patient
and kind with her at all times and I cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion they gave to Mum.
When Mum decided the time had come to end her fight with dementia the staff came to say goodbye to her along with her family and made sure that her passing was peaceful and pain free.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff and especially one member of staff in particular for their kind words and support they gave to my Dad, my sister and myself at the end. It meant so much to all of us - thank you.
I am very happy to wholeheartedly recommend Ashurst Park Care Home.

Birch Tree Manor

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was a resident here for the last 7 months. In that time she was able to enjoy going out with the staff around the local area including a trip to the garden centre, which she would have loved, cream teas, pizza making, bingo.... just doing normal things on a regular basis. It made me so happy
to see her involved in activities both inside and outside of the home.
Thankyou so much to the staff for their care and ensuring my mum had a happy quality of life before her sudden passing. Forever grateful to you all
Special thanks to the manager for all your support

The Hawthorns Care Home

from C M (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When The Hawthorns was suggested as a home for Mum, I had my doubts. However the hospital staff suggested I visit the home and talk with the manager, who was very welcoming, talked through my concerns and showed me round the home. I felt so much happier for Mum to move to The Hawthorns, having made
the visit.
My overall impression is that there are lots of staff - I never felt I was wandering the corridors looking for someone to ask questions or talk to, and they were unfailingly cheerful and positive.
Mum spent 5 months at The Hawthorns, sadly passing away recently, but the care, patience, love and respect all the staff gave her was exemplary. She was consistently treated with great dignity and it made all the difference.
The end-of-life care was gentle and supportive, both for Mum and for us - and we were able to stay with her for her final few days, which means the world.
I cannot begin to thank the staff enough for the care they gave Mum at this difficult stage of her life.
Reply from Mawuli, Home Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home

I've been a Resident at Rosewood House Care home in the neurology unit, for almost 2 years now. I honestly, don't know where would I be if it wasn't for this outstandingly caring home. Living in such a facility can be quite challenging for most of us . But, the truth is, from the manager and the wellbeing
team and with the caregivers, nurses and everyone caring for us. The home goes beyond expectations to offer the best care with attentiveness and ease. I came a long way and, I really appreciate everything the home did to help me through out my journey of healing! Thank you all, from all my heart

My mother was admitted to De Baliol Care Home in July 2025 after a long period in hospital. She celebrated her 90th birthday this year, which in all honesty I didn't see happening last year. My mother says she is happy with the care she receives from the staff at the home and I agree that she has been
well looked after since she arrived. De Baliol in my opinion is well managed and has a good atmosphere.

Allan Court is a busy care home. My father has been a resident for almost a year. The staff were very welcoming when my dad arrived and have been great at helping him settle in.
My dad's needs can be quite complex and demanding which they manage very well. He enjoys the food and gets on well with the
staff.

We are very happy that we chose Southwell Court for mum. The carers go above and beyond when looking after her with so much kindness and great attention paid to her individual needs. We have got to know many of the staff well during this time, it feels like one big family. We have been shown love and
compassion, along with friendship and humour. We have felt blessed on several occasions when special dates have received a surprise celebration. We appreciate Soutwell Court very much and are hugely grateful for all the care they bestow on mum.

My sister was asked to go into Ashwood from a stay in hospital with the intention of staying full time if needed, she had really friendly service and care from all the staff from the first day.
Unfortunately she passed away due to illness after 8 weeks, but it's good to know she was happy.

I want to compliment all staff ie carers, nurses, cleaning, maintenance and management for the running of the care home. How they all give exceptional superb caring and keep their sanity is beyond me! My wife has been there since June 2023. The leadership, attention to detail in the daily caring is
brilliant! They are all like family. The food is great. They care not only for residents, they are also caring, thoughtful to all the visitors! We are all treated with undying respect and kindness. My wife has Lewy Body Dementia. She is on the go all the time and she falls down a lot. They are on the spot to her needs! Last Friday she fell down on her spine to where they had to call in the paramedics. I witnessed tremendous team work and dedication to duty where the paramedics got her moving and took her vitals ok. All were concerned for her. I highly recommend this nursing home!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I want to share my sincere thanks to the staff and management at Ashurst Park for the care shown to my mother during her stay. Mum's care needs gradually evolved during her 2.5 year stay and I was delighted to see that the team anticipated her needs at every step, consulting with me as needed. Mum was
happy and felt safe. She enjoyed interactions with the staff, the games, food, events and other entertainment and even started trying new things.

Knowing that she was well cared for helped me to focus on enjoying her company, updating her with the latest news on friends and family, looking through old photos and being able to be her daughter when I visited. It was a relief that I could hand over responsibility for all the health challenges, hospital visits to a team I could trust.

Thank you.

Mam was at Donwell from February 2023 until July 2025 and I could not have been more happy with the care she received from all the staff. Their friendly cheerful manner with residents and families made it a home. Mam was happy and well looked after and I loved my visits, I was made really welcome
and was encouraged to join in many social activities which were really fun for all. Highly recommend them for the care of your loved one.

My mum was admitted from hospital as she needed more care than she was getting at home. The staff were extremely tolerant and understanding of her occasional outbursts and the activities varied and appropriate for residents varying conditions. We were well updated about her and looked after very well
as relatives of her. Thinking of reserving a room for when I need it !!

Mum was a resident in the Nightingale suite for just over a month before she died, having previously stayed at Oak Park for respite over the last two years.
All staff, from the cleaners through to management, were very kind and caring. She had excellent care whilst she was there and enjoyed the last
month of her life.
All staff were very kind and caring to the family as well, and nothing was too much trouble.

My wife was at Redworth House for palliative care. When she first arrived we had problems some down to me and some to them but all my concerns were quickly address. After this shaky start the care she received was excellent from all the staff. My wife was treated with dignity and respect at all times,
the food I can not comment on as she would only eat ice cream by then but they did try. She passed away after 3 weeks and was prepared for next stage of her journey by them. Thank you all at Redworth House.

As my friend, who is disabled, could no longer manage his day-to-day life in his own home, he went into Donwell House. I can see he is happier and more content. He has his own furniture in his room with personal things, which he likes, he is well looked after, which I am pleased to see. He has always
been a very independent man who got out and about in his electric vehicle chair when he lived alone, with the help of carers going in, so he is used to carers and accepts this is part of his life.
