My husband has been in the care of Geen Lane for some two/three months now, and we, as a family, could not have picked a better care centre. They are unbelievably kind, caring people and lovely to deal with. The care my husband is receiving is second to none in every respect. Keep up the good work Green

Sycamore Park Care Home

from Mike M (Son of Resident) published on 30 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can only thank the team at Sycamore Park for the excellent care given to my late father David. David had been living with Altzimers in the final years of his life. They provided amazing care and made the final period of his life so much better for him. I would like to give a very special thank you
to Corel, Lisa, Katie, Sarah, Alex and the rest of the team in the Buckingham Suite for exemplifying the very best care which can be offered. There was a good atmosphere from the moment we walked in the building, this gave the family the confidence for David to stay, it started with a two week period at the beginning and David soon settled in. He would always look forward to his meals. David's friends and family were always made to feel welcome. We were often offered a cup of tea while we were there which was always welcome.
Sycamore Park Care Home is a credit to Corel, Lisa and all the team. Once again thank you guys, it's the people who make the difference not a building.
Kindest Mike

Allington House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother chose to go into Allington House because she needed 24 hour care. A friend of hers had been there and recommended it.
She was with them nearly 2 years and in that time she was well looked after. The food was lovely and the care staff were fabulous. My mother liked them all. There was lots
of activities and organisations visiting.
I am a retired Registered Manager of a Care Home and to me the care that she was given was exemplary. She was in bed for the last year of her stay, and during that time she had no bed sores. And to me that says everything about the standard of care she received.
I was dubious when she first went in, but I have to say she was happy there.

My Mother (Stephanie) was a resident at Derwent Lodge care home from 2019. She passed away in September 2025.
My Mother had Dementia, heart failure arthritis. She was taken good care by the family at home, then she got very sick was hospitalize. The doctors said her kidneys were very bad (13%) told
us she will live 3 days then 3 weeks then they told us she need nursing care 24/7 and we need to move her to a care home. she was on palliative care may live for 3 months but my mum lived nearly 7 years without any regular medication with the help of family, Nurses, care givers and the management of the Derwent lodge.
When mum came first there were laps in care overall but with the new management team it started picking up to be the best care home. Care home manager gave a beautiful new look to the care home now it looks like a 5 star hotel.
I would like to Thank kitchen, cleaning , Laundry , care & Nursing team. "Derwent" best I have seen for along time in the care industry.

My stepmam always looks clean, tidy and cared for. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is clear that they have good relationships with residents and visitors. There are plenty of activities for residents to do and we enjoy joining in too! Would highly recommend! Thank you to all staff for your
hard work and dedication.

My mum was only at Fountains 10 days where she died. She slept most of the time and was too frail to leave her room. But I heard activities, etc, and other residents were enjoying themselves. All staff were lovely and caring, and even those you passed in the corridor acknowledged you. When Mum was actively
dying, we were all made comfortable at her bedside with tea/coffee and things were explained before and after she died. Well done Fountains!!

My mum became part of your wonderful care home family in March 2025. She is very happy and loving life. I am so happy to see mum doing well and enjoy her life with you. Mum turned 90 in May and was spoilt by the home. The staff are outstanding and they all work over and beyond for all the residents.
Every visit is a pleasure and every one says hello. Nothing is to much trouble and the home is so encouraging. Plenty of daily activities, trips and functions, which mum loves. Thank you Ashwood for everything.

Ashwood Care Centre

My brother has been a resident at Ashwood for 18 mths. He has a degenerative condition which means he is bed-bound in the main. Staff are usually on hand to support my brother and keep him clean and fed/hydrated - as he is unable to do this for himself. They are all friendly and dutiful and talk
to my brother when they are attending to him although he cannot respond to them. He is treated with respect. I get updates from Gladness (onsite nurse) when there are any health issues or concerns. Home management provide updates/notifications frequently and seek feedback to check that what they are doing as regards care, support and activities is appropriate. Whilst my brother cannot take part in activities I often see these taking place - including a singer singing songs from the war/post war era which was very good and the residents seemed to really enjoy this! It's clear that a lot of thought goes into this. Rooms/facilities are generally clean. I would recommend the home to families

My Dad spent the last 3 and a half years at Alexander Court up until he passed away at the end of September. We could not thank the staff enough for the excellent treatment and care he received during the time he spent there. In his final days the staff were very supportive and caring and helped us
in every way they could, this is something that we will always remember and are so grateful for this.
From the moment you step in the door all staff are so welcoming, the reception staff, cleaners, cooks etc all take the time to say 'hello' and to make conversation. The nursing staff and support staff are so kind and caring and take the time to get to know relatives. There is an open door policy which really says it all, they have nothing to hide.
Its the hardest thing to have to place a loved one in a care home but I would recommend this one to anybody.

I visit without appointment about twice a week. My wife is confined to bed and is always warm, comfortable and clean. Often having had a bath and often with her hair washed. She can be 'challenging' but the staff are always very reassuring and give me a huge amount of support. All wonderful and doing
an incredible job in what can be difficult situation. A lovely nursing home.

We moved dad to Birch Park from another care home, so we can compare the standard of care that he got from Birch Park. From the minute we went to look round until his final days we cannot emphasise how well looked after he was, and how well looked after we were as a family. The staff, at all levels,
were exemplary in their care, and knew us all, not just as dad's family but as individuals. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and they treated him, and us, with compassion and respect throughout his stay and especially in his final days. Dad spent his last hours at Birch Park and they treated him and us with dignity and kindness that was second to none. As a family we can 100% recommend Birch Park. It really was home from home and he was very settled and happy there. Heartfelt thanks to every member of staff, you all made a difficult time so much easier.

In discussion with a nurse regarding the use of morphine as daughter's father is prescribed both morphine and an inhaler (COPD) the nurse was insistent that morphine WAS NOT FOR PAIN RELIEF but for his breathing. This she persisted with until I presented to her the NHS definition and was using the NHS
app PAIN RELIEF. This discussion/debate should never happened yet it suggests a deficit in the medicinal knowledge this nurse has at it's most basic. Also, the resident care was discussed openly without ascertaining who I was, or why I was present - confidentiality?

After always promising my mam not to place in a care home, we had no other choice than to do this for her own safety, after only 1 week of staying here she was so settled and happy, receiving the best care from lovely staff members, weight gain was very important & within weeks gained nearly a stone
in weight. Every member of staff are a great asset to the team, manager is so helpful and approachable with any problems we faced. Myself & siblings have utmost peace of mind knowing how happy our mother is.

Dad and us as a family have received the very best care we could ever hope for from everyone at Birch Park. (We moved our dad from another care home provider who wasn't in the same league).
We can't fault his care over the last 15 months and our huge thanks go out to everyone who made dad comfortable
at the end of his life.
Sadly dad died recently but the support we received and the way staff looked after dad was fantastic.
Every care home should be modelled on Birch Park.
We will be forever grateful.

Springfield is a totally amazing care home. Truly the best in the Borough. The dedication and care was second to none for my cousin George who was with them until February. So now it's was the natural choice for my father in law who became a new resident on Friday. We are confident that we have made
the right decision and apart from the love and care they show every resident , Our family are relieved and can sleep at night knowing my father in law is in safe hands. The home is spotlessly clean , the staff are so caring and attentive , there are lots of activities for the residents to get involved with ensuring they have a good quality of life. The management are so professional and caring they are a real credit to Bond Care. A big shout out to Karen for her friendship not only with my cousin but with me. An amazing woman. She is constantly ensuring all residents are happy. A shout out to for KP. A lovely responsible man who portrays outstanding care. Springfield - best care home ever.
