When The Hawthorns was suggested as a home for Mum, I had my doubts. However the hospital staff suggested I visit the home and talk with the manager, who was very welcoming, talked through my concerns and showed me round the home. I felt so much happier for Mum to move to The Hawthorns, having made the visit.
My overall impression is that there are lots of staff - I never felt I was wandering the corridors looking for someone to ask questions or talk to, and they were unfailingly cheerful and positive.
Mum spent 5 months at The Hawthorns, sadly passing away recently, but the care, patience, love and respect all the staff gave her was exemplary. She was consistently treated with great dignity and it made all the difference.
The end-of-life care was gentle and supportive, both for Mum and for us - and we were able to stay with her for her final few days, which means the world.
I cannot begin to thank the staff enough for the care they gave Mum at this difficult stage of her life.

Thank you for your lovely words. I will share them with the staff, who will be so pleased to know their care and support made a difference to you and your mum.
