My father spent his last 22 months at Abbey Hey. We cannot fault the care and kindness he was given there. Despite advanced dementia, he was able to participate in and enjoy all the activities available, making his last days as pleasurable as they possibly could.
The care, sensitivity and kindness
of the staff are to be commended. Highly recommend.

The Coppice is a very relaxed and friendly ho,e, clean and with a great atmosphere. The staff were always cheerful and helpful. and looked after mum so I knew she was in safe hands. The nursing staff were brilliant, on top of mum's medical needs and always answering any questions I had about her conditions.
In particular during mum's final weeks she was treated with great dignity and respect and ensured she was comfortable to the very end.

A few years ago I was one of a lot of people who said I would never put my mum in a care home.well, that time came, and we did. It was the best thing we could have done. Mum loved it and put half a stone on in weight.
The stigma of a care home is long gone, these carers today professionals, caring
and thoughtful.
My nephew is in your care home I visit every week with my wife and sister, I've never seen him so happy, the staff are brilliant with us and definitely make us welcome.

My Mum is happy and well looked after at Abbey Hey care home. The staff are very caring and have also been very supportive of me. They will answer any questions relating to her care or well being. Nothing is too much trouble. My Mum takes part in a wide variety of activities, such as quizzes , Bingo
and crafts. She loves the visiting singers who entertain them. She has celebrated Red Nose Day, VE Day , Mother"s / Ladies Day etc by making banners and table decorations. She says " Here it is any excuse for a party ". She frequently says how she feels " well loved" there . I cannot praise the Manager and Staff enough and am grateful that we found her this loving " Home from Home".

My husband has been a resident at The Coppice Nursing Home since March 2024. His room, bedding, his clothes and my husband himself are always clean. The laundry facilities are excellent and he always seems comfortable and settled. The management is excellent at running The Coppice, she is very approachable
and takes on board any concerns. I visit my husband almost every day, the staff are hard working, some excellent, some very good, some do their best if more staff were available it would take the pressure off the existing staff. This would reflect better care for all the residents.

A close family friend was a resident in Abbey Hey Care Home from 30th March 2021 until her passing on 6th January 2025. I cannot thank ALL THE STAFF enough. I would not have any issues recommending Abbey Hey Care Home to anyone and I hope that they carry on the great work they do in a very challenging
environment.

My grandad's notes stated he was 1:1 and was accepted given the advice he was 1:1. However this went totally unnoticed in the care home and my grandad was left and fell out of the chair as he wasn't being monitored and the care home didn't seem to care, the manager, or even apologise. Avoid.

Absolutely disgusting care home. My grandad was discharged from hospital and went to this home. He arrived at 1.30pm, by 8.30pm they rang and said he had fell out of a chair. He's a 1:1 patient and shouldn't have been left whilst it took 2 members of staff to get the brew trolley and then when we asked
what happened nobody knew because nobody was there. Nobody has contacted us to see how he is. There are never any members of staff around when you go in, this home is awful.
Reply from Freddie Cohen, Regional Manager at The Coppice Nursing HomeWhilst it is our company policy not to respond to details within reviews, this review is factually incorrect in multiple ways. 1. The Coppice does not accept residents with a 1-1. This resident was not discharged from hospital with a 1-1 as part of the assessment so would not have a member of staff with them consistently as part of the package of care. 2. On our electric care planning two members of your family were contacted following the incident. This is all logged and tracked. 3. Your grandfather was in the home for five hours. He arrived around tea time. You have made a very general statement that there are never staff around. Our manager and her team have provided outstanding care since 2013 and only had Good CQC inspections. This review is factually incorrect and is a shame to all the hard work put in by the team.

The staff at Abby Hey Care Home are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them. They go the extra mile not only with the residents but with families too. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for my mum. The entertainment at Xmas was lovely and enjoyed by Mum, residents even received
a gift from the home.
