My partner has been at Redworth House for the past 3 years. It took a while for him to settle because he wanted to be at home. However, the staff there have been wonderful with him, he loves to have banter with people and they give back as much as he gives them, which he and I appreciate. Everyone is
lovely and not only to him, but I am also treated as part of their whole family, which gives me confidence in everyone that cares for him. Thank you to everyone.

Food - a new menu please. At present not a lot of choice.
Room - great.
Staff fabulous.
Just a thought - breakfast order in the evening for following day - reduce wastage - save money.

My mam came to Lumley Court in January 2026, she has vascular dementia. From the very first day I could see what a lovely "family" feel the home has. The staff take their time with the residents, they engage with the, showing, caring and compassion. There is activities that stimulates them and those
that don't feel like it are given 1-2-1. The food is really fantastic, all home made treats. To sum up, I feel relaxed that my mam is safe, well fed, spoken to kindly and loved!

My father is elderly and does need a lot of care as he is quite unwell. Every single care home staff members, including the nurses, are outstanding. I visit regularly and see they all work extremely hard. Sometimes there are not enough staff for the ratio of residents and I have mentioned that. The
manager on Brancepeth appears to work long hours. She is very approachable and, when I;ve had some complaints, she does everything she can to help Dad & I. I had to complain about the food as it was inedible and previously had to buy fish & chips, pie etc for Dad. A new cook was soon employed and she is brilliant. The parking is appalling as is the actual road as there are large holes & gaps and my car has felt the brunt of it. Don't understand why some cement can't be made to fill large holes.
Reply from Victoria Brettwood, Senior Home Manager at Brancepeth CourtThank you for your honest review, we value all feedback that can help us improve the service we deliver. We will ensure that we pass your lovely comments on to all of the staff team. Our staffing levels are generated by a trusted dependency tool that generates safe staffing levels to meet the dependency of all residents However, we have recently introduced an additional member of staff to work across the home for extra support. I am glad your now happy with the food quality and the difference our new cook has made. Now that the weather has improved you will be pleased to know that the pot holes have been filled within the car park. Again thank you for your review and we will continue improve any areas of the service needed to ensure the best service for our residents.

My mam looks so much calmer and happy here. The staff do activities and I love to see her dancing and singing again. It feels like a home from home. The staff are kind, respectful and even though mam can be difficult so great patience and understanding- mam is always clean, well dressed and loves the
home cooked meals. She has enjoyed going out for lunch with the activities lady and playing bingo. What a lovely home!

My dad came from a hospital setting needing palliative care. Upon meeting the management the only thing we asked was, "would he be given the love and attention like he was one of their own?" Which he has always had from us. The answer without hestitation was "yes"
Brancepeth court delivered that in
abundance. Every single member of this team treat him with care and compassion they promised and kept his privacy and dignity at all times.
We were kept up to date with any changes in his care plan and if anything was needed, it was acted upon without hesitation.
In his last few hours he was never left alone. The love and emotion that was felt from all the team that night is etched in our hearts.
To the Management and staff - you are one amazing team.
No where is ever perfect, but in our eyes you are.
Well done!!.

My Dad spent time at Brancepeth as a step down from hospital 2 years ago. Continued ill health has now led him to be a full-time nursing resident. He is 87 and extremely frail. He was recently in hospital again and, on returning to Brancepeth, said how lovely it was to be returning 'home'. The staff
are wonderful, caring and so friendly - both to me and to my Dad. He couldn't be in a better place.

My Mam has been in Lumley Court for over 3 years now. Prior to that she was cared for at home by my Dad who subsequently became ill and could no care for her. Since being at Lumley Court she is happier and healthier than she was before. She still has dementia of course but the staff are great with her
and the residents. You really won't find a nicer group of carers and nurses to look after your loved ones. There are lots of social activities and the Home is often decorated with the current theme - Halloween was spectacular. To see her so happy gives a lot of comfort to me. I live a long way away so being able to trust her with such a loving team is a great relief.

Brancepeth Court Care Home has been amazing. I honestly couldn't recommend them enough. Every single person there, the carers, nurses, entertainment team, management, maintenance, treated my grandad with so much kindness and respect.
You can really tell they care about the people they look after. They
made him feel comfortable, cared for and genuinely loved and that meant the world to us as a family.
We're so grateful for everything they did. They gave him the best care we could have wished for.

The staff are welcoming and interact well with residents and visitors. The rooms would benefit from en-suite showers but these would be expensive and may present health and safety issues so this be unfair. Activities are regular and there are regular professional acts of a good standard. Access to a
kitchen area for visitors is a great bonus. I have experience of five local care homes and Lumley Court is the best.

My overall experience is that the staff show great respect, patience, care and professionalism to the residence. I trust the home with my lovely mam. Activities could be more bespoke to individuals needs + rooms. In the last 3 months, the food has improved significantly and is appropriate and nutrious.
Mam looks forward to it. Sometimes residents wait at the exit, which is uncomfortable when leaving or entering. The room is lovely but I think the bathroom is old and in need of updating. The garden space is good but could be more interesting and beautiful for the residence. Its an important space.
