Lumley Residential Home

My dad moved into Lumley Court (Willington Care Village) in May 2026 due to a deterioration in his Alzheimer's. From the moment he arrived, the managers and care team have been so good with him. They provided him with a home from home environment, always professional but also gave over and above in terms of care, support, empathy and much needed humour (which my dad thrived on). The dignity, love and care given to him during his last few weeks was second-to-none, right up until the moment he passed away in Sept 2026. I cannot thank them all enough for looking after my dad and how much support they also gave me. I cannot recommend this care home enough (& I have visited plenty with other family members) and reassure anyone looking to place their loved one into residential care, that they will be in the best hands, led by the brilliant management and excellent care team.

my mam requested to move in to care home when she had capacity. She loves it, this is her home. The care my mam receives is outstanding. Staff engage and are so caring. They respect her dignity at all times. I cannot thank the staff enough, from the laundry staff, support workers, cleaners to the seniors and management in Lumley Court. You are all amazing x

My dad moved into Lumley Court in August 2026 and I honestly can't rate this care home more highly. The manager Kelly has been incredible from the very start, her care, kindness and compassion really shines through. She has a real love for Lumley Court, all her staff and all her residents. All of the staff have been wonderful, they really went above and beyond to help settle my dad in. Each staff member I've interacted with have been so friendly and shown so much love, care, kindness and compassion to both my dad and myself. I can't thank everyone at Lumley Court enough, you've given my dad a wonderful place to live and thrive.

My mother went into bondcare on 18th September 2026 all staff and manager have been very helpful I will give them 100 percent care she is a changed lady since she went into bondcare I would recommend anyone to put their love ones in bondcare for their care.

We can't thank Lumley Court enough for the care and support they have given our grandma. After suffering some recent falls, there were times when we honestly didn't think she would get through it, but she has now got back on her feet and is doing so much better. The staff have been absolutely amazing throughout, and Kelly and Sian, the Manager and Deputy Manager, have been incredibly supportive, caring and empathetic. We couldn't ask for a better team looking after her.

My dad moved from Brancepeth Court to Lumley in May, and Dad and I are absolutely delighted! Every single member of staff are excellent, they are so kind and caring to every resident and always treat them with total respect. The staff regularly bathe/shower, wash residents and make them comfortable for the day ahead. Residents are helped to the dining table for each meal and some are helped to eat. I go to see Dad regularly and can't help hearing interactions between staff and residents and, honestly, staff constantly reassure residents constantly. I know my dad and everyone are well looked after. The home/rooms are spotless too, the cleaners are great as are the laundry ladies. Food is very good. The manager, Kelly, is extremely approachable & strives to make the home a great place to live & work.

Lumley Court is a place of real compassionate care and kindness. Residents are treated with great respect and supported and cared for in a vigilant and attentive way. Nothing is a trouble. Lumley Court is a family of residents and staff,

Lovely home clean fresh and always smelling lovely my sister is well looked after always clean and dressed well I never go at set times and have never had any complaints. They are always polite and caring .and they do activities throughout the week which is good for stimulation .I can't fault them .keep up the good work x

My Aunty was in Lumley for 7 yrs until her recent death. She received excellent care throughout this period. The facilities and activities were well organised and stimulating. Out door visits were also arranged to meet individual needs. I can highly recommend Lumley

My wife is so well looked after at Lumley, all the staff are lovely to her. She's always clean and tidy. Whenever I'm there the staff chat to me also and bring me cake and coffee. My wife looks much more relaxed and happy here. The staff are so kind and caring.

My Mam has been in Lumley Court for over 3 years now. Prior to that she was cared for at home by my Dad who subsequently became ill and could no care for her. Since being at Lumley Court she is happier and healthier than she was before. She still has dementia of course but the staff are great with her and the residents. You really won't find a nicer group of carers and nurses to look after your loved ones. There are lots of social activities and the Home is often decorated with the current theme - Halloween was spectacular. To see her so happy gives a lot of comfort to me. I live a long way away so being able to trust her with such a loving team is a great relief.

The staff are welcoming and interact well with residents and visitors. The rooms would benefit from en-suite showers but these would be expensive and may present health and safety issues so this be unfair. Activities are regular and there are regular professional acts of a good standard. Access to a kitchen area for visitors is a great bonus. I have experience of five local care homes and Lumley Court is the best.

My overall experience is that the staff show great respect, patience, care and professionalism to the residence. I trust the home with my lovely mam. Activities could be more bespoke to individuals needs + rooms. In the last 3 months, the food has improved significantly and is appropriate and nutrious. Mam looks forward to it. Sometimes residents wait at the exit, which is uncomfortable when leaving or entering. The room is lovely but I think the bathroom is old and in need of updating. The garden space is good but could be more interesting and beautiful for the residence. Its an important space.

A compassionate caring, professional respectful staff and environment. Residents are treated as human beings where individual needs and wants are rooted in respect for each person's human dignity. An atmosphere of loving, kind, bespoke care prevails where residents and their families are welcomed with equal kindness and respect.

My gran has been here a few months now. Whenever I've been to visit I always feel like she's home rather than just in care home. Shes always happy, well presnted and settled. The staff and the management are lovely and I can tell by their interaction's that they care for their residents and it's not just a job to them. I'm always made to feel welcome and nothing is a trouble to them.

To all the Lumley Court care staff and nurse, thank you for looking after my mum while she was with you. She had many happy moments with you enjoying the company of other residents, sociable meal times and the activities. Thank you for all the times the staff allowed me to talk to my mum down the phone even at the very end. All these memories are treasured memories for me her daughter and the extended family. Also thank you for being so welcoming to us when we visited as a family on the several occasions we came with my husband and my family and our dog we are grateful for the perfect level of communication we have received while she was in Lumley court. The family will appreciate your dedication to your duties for the rest of our lives.

On the day I found out my lovely mum had to go into residential care I was heartbroken. All my fears and tears subsided as I got to know the staff at Lumley Court. Mum has a lovely room with her own possessions around her. Mum has always taken a pride in her appearance and the staff make sure her nails are painted and her outfits are colour-matched. She is always clean and tidy. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff at Lumley Court and our concerns are listened to and dealt with quickly. The staff are kind, amazing and very supportive. They can lighten the mood with a laugh and a smile.

I am very pleased and happy with my daughter's care at Lumley Court.
