Walking through the doors lovely environment, warm and inviting, fragrant no bad odours. Managers door always open and happy to talk to you. Staff friendly, helpful and supportive. We can leave Mam/Wife feeling she is safe and well cared for. Staff work very hard. Could do with an extra staff member
due to the support and care needed. Toilet requests have to wait quite a while due to supporting others.

I have found most of the team at Donwell House to be caring, professional and friendly. I would add that a few people there go above and beyond. The building and some of the rooms look a little tired but I do see regular improvements being made. I'd like to see easier access to a safe outdoor area during
the Spring/Summer months.

We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the environment. As you've noted, we are currently undertaking an ongoing programme of redecoration and improvement throughout the home, and it is encouraging to hear that these efforts are being recognised.
In relation to outdoor access, we completely agree on the importance of having a safe and welcoming outdoor space, particularly during the Spring and Summer months. Plans to enhance and improve our outdoor areas are already in development, and this is something we are actively working towards.

I visit my sister at this care home every day. The staff are excellent with the residents everyone is very friendly and will help out with anything. There lots of activities for the residents to do together. I would highly recommend Allan court to anyone.

I can't recommend Donwell house enough to anyone thinking about care facilities.
My mam became a resident in May 2025 due to a decline in her Alzheimer's.
We quickly discovered that the foundations of this care home are built on kindness, respect, care, compassion and dignity.
The staff become surrogate
family to the residents and as such, have the residents best interests at heart and this was evident in every interaction my family witnessed, not just with my mam but with all residents.
My mam passed away a week ago but during her last days the staff were incredible, showing such compassion, kindness and love not just to my mam but to the whole family. As a family we will forever be grateful and no words I have are enough to thank each and every member of staff. Angels on earth

My mam was a long-term resident at Donwell House from 2018 to 2026. I'd like to thank all of the present and previous care staff who have looked after my mam so well through her battle with AD. On all of our visits the staff have been friendly and helpful. In earlier years, my mam really enjoyed the
games and entertainment on offer each week. She was also very happy with the food and refreshments served every day. I've visited quite a few local care homes in recent years, in my opinion Donwell House stands out as one of the best in the region.

My Dad has been in Donwell House for just over two years. As applies to all residents leaving your home and moving into a care home is a huge upheaval. That said the team at Donwell have been truly outstanding and made my Dad feel safe at first, then content, and finally feeling really settled there.
We have, as a family , met some lovely staff who really go the extra mile in making a difference for both residents and their families.

I could not praise Tammy and her staff enough, the way they look after my uncle on his last few days. The respect they give my auntie and family was just amazing. Tammy, Becky and Lauren went away and beyond their role, they are like family.

We were able to go on holiday this summer, safe in the knowledge that staff now know my mum really well (after just 7 months as a resident) and she would be safe, feel secure and happy. Seeing lovely posts while we were away (on social media) of a variety of activities being enjoyed by residents was
so reassuring. Staff at Donwell House really do go the extra mile - special mention to the handyman (Kevin) too - who grows veg etc and has created lovely outdoor and indoor environments for the elderly residents and the staff too.

My stepmam always looks clean, tidy and cared for. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is clear that they have good relationships with residents and visitors. Allan Court is a busy care home. My father has been a resident for almost a year. The staff were very welcoming when my dad arrived and have been great at helping him settle in.
My dad's needs can be quite complex and demanding which they manage very well. He enjoys the food and gets on well with the

Mam was at Donwell from February 2023 until July 2025 and I could not have been more happy with the care she received from all the staff. Their friendly cheerful manner with residents and families made it a home. Mam was happy and well looked after and I loved my visits, I was made really welcome
and was encouraged to join in many social activities which were really fun for all. Highly recommend them for the care of your loved one.

As my friend, who is disabled, could no longer manage his day-to-day life in his own home, he went into Donwell House. I can see he is happier and more content. He has his own furniture in his room with personal things, which he likes, he is well looked after, which I am pleased to see. He has always
been a very independent man who got out and about in his electric vehicle chair when he lived alone, with the help of carers going in, so he is used to carers and accepts this is part of his life.
