The care my Mum received at Larchwood was extremely good. Mums stay there was only for 11 days before she passed away but I was more than impressed with the quality of her care and the attentiveness of all the staff during that time. The home had a good friendly vibe and the cleanliness was second to
none.

On the week of my wife's admittance to Larchwood, Norwich, the manager and all her staff made us so welcome. Larchwood was so clean and organised, the staff and nurses all had their own routine to work on. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My wife was happy there. I would give my highest recommendation
for anyone to be placed at Larchwood House.
Reply from Howard Emanuel, RM at Larchwood HouseThank you Joseph for your review - Our staff pride themselves in the care they provide. We are delighted that your wife has had the dignity and care in our home.

Special thanks to nurses Catherine and Chithra for the valued care given to my dear mum who sadly passed away after a brief stay at Larchwood. Support from Sandra in our hour of need was greatly appreciated. Vanessa and all the team show such great respect for residents. Staff smile, welcome visitors
and pets, and genuinely appear to enjoy their work. Thank you Andy and Caitlan for the attention you gave Mum and for the manicures. I am thankful Mum spent her final few weeks at Larchwood.

My mum was moved to Larchwood from hospital for end of life care. The room she was put in was next to the stairs and everyone who came up let the door go and it banged shut everytime. Not the peaceful environment you need at the end of life. We were told that an airflow mattress would be available for
her. This was not put on her bed until we requested this but by then she had already been there a week. As she had oesophageal cancer, she was only eating soft foods. After a BBQ in the grounds she was offered a burger for lunch! If we were visiting at meal times, the staff would leave the food on the table for us to feed her (she'd had a stroke and was unable to feed herself) after we moved her out the staff 'lost' a lot of her clothes and personal items, which have never been returned despite several emails to the manager. I would not recommend this care home to anyone and wish we had moved her out sooner!
Reply from HE, RM at Larchwood HouseThank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that parts of the care did not meet your expectations. End-of-life care is an especially sensitive time, and we take all feedback seriously. While the experience of most of our residents is very positive, we are always striving to improve.

At Larchwood, we aim to provide a safe, calm, and compassionate environment, following personalised care plans that support each resident's clinical, dietary, and emotional needs. We work closely with families so they feel involved and supported throughout their loved one's stay.

Clear communication is important to us, and we review all feedback to strengthen our practices and uphold high standards of dignified, respectful care. If you would like to discuss your experience further, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly.

My husband has only been a resident at Larchwood for a short time and so far I am very satisfied with the care he is receiving. He has complex needs which I think are being met. The carers all seem kind and cheerful, treat him with respect and he appears to like them too. The nurses have his medical
well in hand and the management are very helpful if I have any worries or questions. Due to his needs I am unable to look after my husband at home now so I am glad he is receiving good care at Larchwood.

Dont judge a book by its cover is the saying.
Mum has been a resident in Larchwood for nearly 3 years. We were recommended by a neighbour and we have since highly recommended to anyone who is in the unfortunate position of finding a home for a loved one.
There are several new homes in the area that
are all nice and shiny, but what are the carers like ?
The staff at Larchwood are 2nd to none , it really is a home for the residents, all the staff are so friendly and helpful yet very professional .
We can relax knowing that mum is getting the best care that she can.
Thank you to everyone at Larchwood

Larchwood on the first day of visiting I noted had a friendly feeling. All the staff are attentive and when asked for anything have always accommodated. My mother settled into Larchwood following spending some time in hospital, she has done amazingly well with the care she has received and all the
family are so pleased with the support and kindness that has been given to mum and her family.

My mother was having palliative care. She finally died at Larchwood House after being in hospital.
We were dismayed at the decor of her room, the walls were chipped, paint knocked off the walls. Toilet roll holder hanging off wall and bathroom used for storage of cleaning equipment. Broken safety rail
on the bed which wasn't repaired. My sister had to ask her to be moved. The whole place needs maintenance repair, the gardens need maintaining. We wanted to get her moved when we saw the state of the place but this was not possible.
Reply from HE, RM at Larchwood HouseThank you for your review. We take all feedback seriously and have reviewed your mothers care at Larchwood which we note was some 10 months ago but has only been brought to our attention now. There is a report of broken bedrails and we can see that as soon as this was identified your mum was offered to move rooms which she obliged. There were no other issues highlighted during her care at Larchwood. The home and rooms undergo a rolling maintenance and decoration program. Our rooms are decorated tastefully and where requested they are individualised as well. We are sorry this wasn't your experience at Larchwood.

When we were told that my mum would need to go into a nursing home at the age of 90 following a fall where she broke her hip, we were offered just 2 placements in the area; one was Larchwood and the other was a 35 minute drive away for me and further for other family members. We therefore decided to
take a look at Larchwood first. Now, this certainly isn't the prettiest building you're ever going to see. It appears to be a converted very large former family house that has been added to. However, right from the start (May 24) the management and staff swung it for me and we chose this place.
I was taken on a tour around the facility and introduced to various members of staff who have subsequently looked after my mum with unwavering care and commitment despite the fact that Mum can be a bit awkward at times. If it's top rate care you want rather than a pretty exterior, then this could well be the place for your loved one.

My brother, myself and all the family would like to say a "big" thank you to all the staff at Larchwood House for the nursing care they have given our mum for the past three months. They were all excellent. Mum passed away there due to previous strokes, dementia and old age. We were so grateful that
Mum ended her last months there. Thank you again to the manager and all the staff.

I have always been happy with the care my father has received since being in the home in September 2021. If he has ever had a fall etc. they are always in touch to advise me of this. I am always kept informed of anything happening to/with him. The management team and all staff are caring and will always
spend time with my father, engaging with him whenever they can. I really do feel he is in a very safe and secure environment with the best care I could wish for, for him.

The care my aunt has received to date from all the management and staff is first-class. She has been cared for almost 7 years now and the attention and more importantly the love and kindness they have shown is fantastic. I would highly recommend the nursing and residential home to anyone with a loved
one who needs that additional help and support.

I am happy living in this care home. I like my food here. Carers are very nice and helpful. I appreciate that I am and feel safe here, better than in my onw flat.
I am free to organize my time, I read books which a volunteer brings me regularly from the library. I have my own laptop and on it I do
crosswords and contact my family and friends. I also like our garden where I walk every day. I like flowers and vegetables there.

Larchwood House provided amazing palliative care for my mum for 15 months. The staff are caring and friendly. As a family, we are so grateful for their help and care at a very difficult time. My personal experience was that the care went way beyond just caring for Mum. The staff were always on hand
to see us through the difficult, rough periods in Mum's journey. I can honestly say it was a privilege to get to know the staff and know Mum was in very safe hands, and I do not know how we would have achieved such a dignified and caring end to Mum's life without them. Thank you.
