What a shambles this care home is. My terminally ill brother had the misfortune of being placed here. He's been neglected, verbally abused and mocked by the night staff. Left in filthy clothes for 4 days. The home employs a lot of workers from overseas who don't speak or understand English so this
creates a lot of stress and problems . Avoid at all costs.

As a family friend of the service user in your premises I take this special opportunity to thank you abundantly for the exceptional, extraordinary excellent care (quality) you gave to my best friend whom you looked after for a period of 5-6months. The warm atmosphere as you come in the building tells
alot, very well maintained. My friend was beautifully look after and the "ENTIRE" family and friends. WELL DONE all of you. The Manager and all the Nursing staff, so loving and kind and the Care staff. Oh! The laundry lady always looked after my friend's family clothing. Thank you and keep the good standard of care. I will let CQC aware as well.

Birch care home. I was very impressed with the level of care and attention provided to the residents. The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and professional, creating a friendly and welcoming environment.

The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to ensure the

comfort and safety of the residents. The rooms were spacious and bright, offering a homely feel. I also noticed a variety of engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of the residents, promoting both mental stimulation and social interaction.

Meals appeared to be nutritious and appetising, with options accommodating different dietary needs. It was clear that the wellbeing of the residents is a top priority.

Overall, Birch park care home offers a nurturing and supportive environment where residents can thrive. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking quality care for their loved ones.

Choosing a Care Home for a loved one is one of the hardest jobs, then to trust the Home & Staff with your expectations can be daunting but through the 3 years of My Uncle living here, it was the best choice we made.
Every care facility has hiccups, when addressed things did alter, patience & understanding
is required from all.
From Care Staff, Kitchen & Laundry Staff, they all did a fab job for My Uncle & he settled so well & I know he loved it there.
Full support from when My Uncle was in his final days, he passed very peacefully & I wouldn't have let him pass anywhere else except his Home - Green Acres.

Reply from Zsuzsanna, Home Manager at Green Acres Nursing Home

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. Choosing a care home is indeed a deeply personal and difficult decision, and we are truly honoured that you entrusted us with your Uncles care over the past three years.Supporting your Uncle in his final days was a privilege, and were humbled that you felt comfort in knowing he was in a place he called home. Thank you once again for sharing your experience and for allowing us to be part of his journey.

My late mothers partner was a resident for almost 2 years. He was very well looked after. He was always dressed and out of bed, up until his last few days. His meals were well prepared and delivered regularly, and he was often helped to eat when required. The facilities were clean and tidy and the staff
were very friendly and helpful, which I saw at first hand even tho they did not know when I would be visiting. I was always kept up to date with his medical needs.

Rose Lodge Care Home

This review is difficult for me to write but we as a family feel that it's necessary to show our gratitude to the staff and to express our opinions on the home for the benefit of other people in similar situations to the one that we found ourselves in.

My Grammy had late stage dementia and we chose

Rose Lodge as her home when she left the hospital. She spent the last stages of her life in the nursing suites and the care that she received from the staff went far above what we could of ever asked for. They didn't just care for my Grammy, they loved her and they even had the time to care for us as well. From brushing her hair and putting on classic FM so she wasn't left in a silent room, to bringing us cups of tea and offering us meals when we were there for hours on end in the last few days that she was with us.

We didn't make it when my Grammy decided it was time to leave but the manager held her hand with respect and gave her the dignity that she deserved while she took her last breath.

Birch Park have cared for our mum for over five years, and our mum is happy and settled.
The staff are exceptional, very caring and respectful, they attend to her needs very well.
Our mum's needs have changed significantly over the five years but at every stage there has been excellent support from
the managers, support staff, nurses and carers.
Everyone is devoted to the wellbeing of the residents including an Activities Team to help keep resident involved and entertained.
All staff are approachable to discuss any issues or needs and are open minded for ideas.
The home is exceptionally well maintained in all areas; the rooms are very comfortable and kept clean by dedicated cleaning & laundry staff, there is also the opportunity to personalise them. The common areas are pleasant with access to well-maintained outdoor areas. There are two dining areas supported by dedicated catering staff providing excellent food.
We are very pleased we chose Birch Park to care for our mum.

My father was a resident at the home for nearly three years. I chose the home as I wanted a professionally run establishment with a qualified nurse on duty at all times.
The care for my father was exceptional. The carers are kind, conscientious and anticipate the needs of the residents. In particular
the home excelled with end of life, not only do they look after the resident but also the family, and this is due to an exceptional manager and deputy manager.

My mum has been in Willow Park for just over 2 years. She was initially reluctant to move in, but the staff were so welcoming that she is now very happy and content. Green Lane Care Centre

from Brett P (Son of Resident) published on 11 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

I am so shocked that this care home has not been reviewed by the Care & Quality control commission.
They are so under-staffed and cannot cope with the patients that they have. The staff that they do have are mainly young and from overseas. With what I have seen, I have to assume not much training &
very little english speaking vocabulary. My mother last week pressed for help to visit the toilet & it took them nearly 90 minutes to answer her call. She has been in tears and doesn't even know why she was moved here.
Her only respite is that the physio people are visiting her 2-3 times per week and it's the only incentive she has to get stronger after her operation and get back home. On my visit today a gentleman had a 1pm appointment to do a risk assessment in the home & the management had all gone and stood him up, which sums up how this place is being run. Probably getting a ton of money from the council and not being wisely spent!

Dear Brett,Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience. Providing high-quality care and support to our residents is our top priority, and we take feedback like yours very seriously. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We understand how important it is for residents to receive timely assistance and that is the reason why our nursing call is audited and monitored. Our training covers all mandatory requirements for health and social care needs.
