Willow Park

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum was a resident in Willow Park for a little over 3 years. Every time we visited, she was comfortable, clean and tidy. The personal care was performed with kindness and dignity. As time went on, we noticed mum became happier through the care, companionship and friendliness of the staff. She had complex
needs, and all of them were met adequately, from the comfortable wheelchair to suitably prepared food and drink. All the staff were friendly and welcoming to us as visiting family, and we will always be grateful for the love and care shown to our mum. A sincere thank you to all.
Reply from Victoria Darlow, Home Manager at Willow ParkThank you so much for taking the time to complete the review. It really does mean a lot. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to care for Mum and for us to be part of Mum's journey.

The warmest of welcomes is always on offer at this remarkable care home. Prior to arrival Dad had gone through a difficult time. So it was of paramount importance that he felt loved, valued and cared for. Sycamore Park staff were understanding, discerning and supportive especially throughout those
early days settling in. He is happy and safe in his new environment with his new friends.
As a family member you want the very best for those you love the most. Sycamore Park has a team dedicated to being the very best.

Green Acres Nursing Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I've visited my father numerous times during the day and evening. The staff have all been friendly and chatty. Whenever we've needed support for Dad they've been there for him. He has regular checks, his room is cleaned regularly. Staff engage with him and treat him with respect. Management are friendly
and willing to listen and act upon any given feedback. My only negative is his food can be cold when delivered, unsure how this can be changed as the kitchen is downstairs. I can see improvements in the home everytime I visit. I'm happy Dad is in the right home, it gives me peace of mind. Food is plenty and choice good, just needs to be hotter if hot food. I've marked satisfactory for food and drink - this is due to hot food getting delivered cold. I think Dad has plenty of choice everyday and snacks plus his favourite biscuits.
I think its excellent how the wing Dad is on is taking into account his needs like the busy boards and re-decorating. Its a work in progress and a step in the right direction.
Staff and management really listen to feedback and act upon it so thank you from me.

Due to my dad being in a previous home. He was moved to Green Lane which he had a lot of problems at the previous home this is when I realised how wrong the first home was. The care for my dad is amazing. He is always freshly changed and cared for. He was put on weight and the carers are very welcoming
the home is spotless and all in all he seems more happier and settled.

Our mum went to live at Willow Park home in February 2024 due to a deterioration in her dementia, and the difficulties for us, as mum lived miles away. Now she is local to me. From entry on she settled in well. The care she continues to receive is 1st class from everything to her needs, personal care,
cleanliness of her room, laundry. Mum is still able to enjoy many of the activities provided. The home is warm and welcoming to us as a family and we know that mum is very much part of the Willow Park family. She always seems happy when we visit.

time talking of the happy times we had looking at old photos, we even have a sing song together, at 95 what more could you ask for.

Sycamore Park Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can only thank the team at Sycamore Park for the excellent care given to my late father David. David had been living with Altzimers in the final years of his life. They provided amazing care and made the final period of his life so much better for him. I would like to give a very special thank you
to Corel, Lisa, Katie, Sarah, Alex and the rest of the team in the Buckingham Suite for exemplifying the very best care which can be offered. There was a good atmosphere from the moment we walked in the building, this gave the family the confidence for David to stay, it started with a two week period at the beginning and David soon settled in. He would always look forward to his meals. David's friends and family were always made to feel welcome. We were often offered a cup of tea while we were there which was always welcome.
Sycamore Park Care Home is a credit to Corel, Lisa and all the team. Once again thank you guys, it's the people who make the difference not a building.
Kindest Mike

We moved dad to Birch Park from another care home, so we can compare the standard of care that he got from Birch Park. From the minute we went to look round until his final days we cannot emphasise how well looked after he was, and how well looked after we were as a family. The staff, at all levels,
were exemplary in their care, and knew us all, not just as dad's family but as individuals. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and they treated him, and us, with compassion and respect throughout his stay and especially in his final days. Dad spent his last hours at Birch Park and they treated him and us with dignity and kindness that was second to none. As a family we can 100% recommend Birch Park. It really was home from home and he was very settled and happy there. Heartfelt thanks to every member of staff, you all made a difficult time so much easier.

In discussion with a nurse regarding the use of morphine as daughter's father is prescribed both morphine and an inhaler (COPD) the nurse was insistent that morphine WAS NOT FOR PAIN RELIEF but for his breathing. This she persisted with until I presented to her the NHS definition and was using the NHS
app PAIN RELIEF. This discussion/debate should never happened yet it suggests a deficit in the medicinal knowledge this nurse has at it's most basic. Also, the resident care was discussed openly without ascertaining who I was, or why I was present - confidentiality?
Reply from Zsuzsanna Antal, Home Manager at Green Acres Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that your recent experience left you feeling concerned. We always encourage families and visitors to raise any worries directly with myself or the deputy manager so that we can look into them immediately and provide reassurance.

Our nurses are trained to follow national guidance when supporting residents with their medication and care needs, and we will review this matter internally to ensure communication remains clear and professional at all times. I would also like to reassure you that confidentiality is something we take very seriously.

Please feel free to contact me directly at the home if you would like to discuss this further.

Dad and us as a family have received the very best care we could ever hope for from everyone at Birch Park. (We moved our dad from another care home provider who wasn't in the same league).
We can't fault his care over the last 15 months and our huge thanks go out to everyone who made dad comfortable
at the end of his life.
Sadly dad died recently but the support we received and the way staff looked after dad was fantastic.
Every care home should be modelled on Birch Park.
We will be forever grateful.

What a shambles this care home is. My terminally ill brother had the misfortune of being placed here. He's been neglected, verbally abused and mocked by the night staff. Left in filthy clothes for 4 days. The home employs a lot of workers from overseas who don't speak or understand English so this
creates a lot of stress and problems . Avoid at all costs.

As a family friend of the service user in your premises I take this special opportunity to thank you abundantly for the exceptional, extraordinary excellent care (quality) you gave to my best friend whom you looked after for a period of 5-6months. The warm atmosphere as you come in the building tells
alot, very well maintained. My friend was beautifully look after and the "ENTIRE" family and friends. WELL DONE all of you. The Manager and all the Nursing staff, so loving and kind and the Care staff. Oh! The laundry lady always looked after my friend's family clothing. Thank you and keep the good standard of care. I will let CQC aware as well.
