Fantastic staff and residents are well looked after. Every member of staff are always ready to chat about anything relatives wish to discuss. My sister is very happy and well cared for.
Keep up the good work.

My mother has now been at Henwick Grange for some time suffering from Dementia. Her care has been dignified and very well cared for by the staff at Henwick Grange. Any problems, we are always informed by the management.

Always found staff helpful and polite. At times have had concerns about the care given to my friend and have had to point things out such as clothes stained, eyes red and sore. But she is very happy here and enjoys the food, what bit she eats, as her appetite is very poor. She has been very poorly of
late but thankfully appears to have turned the corner, which is obviously down to Henwick Grange.
Reply from Sam Chontow, Registered Manager at Henwick Grange Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to write a review for Henwick Grange Care Home. We take your concerns seriously and we would very much like an opportunity to discuss with you, please feel free to come and discuss this on your next visit to the home.

We feel as though we are always asking the management for help with Mum when this is something that should have already been done. Eg. changing clothes, keeping my mum clean. There is no management cover at all on the weekends. I have found my mum still in bed at 11:00 AM. This is not good enough.
Reply from Sam Chontow, Regional Manager at Henwick Grange Nursing HomeWe are very sorry to hear you feel this way. We always thrive to do our best and offer the best care to not only the residents in our service but to the families who visit too. Please do come and see management on your next visit so we can talk through your points and aim to improve on your concerns.

My aunt spent four months in Henwick Grange and during that time I saw nothing but kindness shown to her. The staff were friendly towards us and they did their very best for my aunt. It was a comfort to me to know that she was being so well cared for.

Having taken my husband in for respite, which was a very hard and upsetting decision, the staff were so welcoming and caring. The home doesn’t smell, it’s always clean and is undergoing some decorating. The manager has gone above and beyond in helping us to settle my husband and has always been approachable,
friendly and supportive. My husband has been difficult to care for at home and has needed 24/7 care for many months, yet the home has been fully supportive in giving him a place. He seems settled, and although confused due to his Lewy Body Dementia, I am more than happy for him to stay in their care as long as needed. He is always clean, nicely shaven and his clothes are laundered nicely. I am very happy with his care, and although I do miss him terribly, I know he is being cared for. I have visited many times, at various times of the day, but am always welcomed and updated on his care. I couldn’t ask any more from Henwick Grange Nursing Home. Thank you to all the staff!

My Father-in-Law needed an emergency respite placement due to his Dementia. After visiting Henwick Grange Nursing Home, he went in the following day. Staff welcomed him with open arms, and everyone greeted him, and the family like friends. All of the staff we encountered during the visit and the initial
few days are what makes this building into a home. They genuinely care about the individual and their requirements, and try their utmost to find things out to know the person more, and help them settle in. This was really heartwarming, as initially, my Father-in-Law was only going to be there a couple of weeks. His respite has been extended, and we as a family continue to like the staff of Henwick Grange. The manager has been absolutely wonderful, and I cannot fault her management style at all. We are kept informed at every step of the way, but not bogged down with things we cannot worry about. I do hope my Father-in-Law will be suitable to stay at Henwick Grange once he has been assessed for his care needs.

Staff are caring, but doesn't seem to have enough time to spend with each resident. Staff are friendly and answers questions if they can, or refer me to the correct person. My husband seems content now, as he has only been in the home about nine weeks.

I am delighted with the care and understanding given to my friend who is a resident at Henwick Grange Nursing Home and have no hesitation in highly recommending this nursing home. The staff are wonderful and I am particularly impressed by their kindness, patient and caring attitude. So much so that
I have witnessed a huge improvement in not only my friends general health but also his happiness since he moved in. He is very contented there and considers it his home now.

I am extremely impressed with both the home and carers, they treat my father with the utmost respect and are always cheerful, having a laugh and joke with him, which helps to make him more comfortable. Also he is fed very well providing a lovely varied menu. Overall an outstanding care home. 5 star.

My mother went to Henwick Grange Nursing Home for end of life care for the last week of her life, after living with us in our family home for many years. I felt guilty having to hand her care over to others. The staff at Henwick Grange Nursing Home took away that guilt, they cared for Mum with compassion
and dignity. Also making sure that my sister and myself were cared for too. The room Mum was in was clean and tidy, and the food was excellent but more than anything it was the staff that made Mums last week as easy as it could be, and we the family will be forever grateful.

Henwick Grange has been wonderful. My husband is receiving excellent professional care. The staff are very kind, attentive and treat him with the utmost respect. The rooms are lovely and bright and the food is excellent. The manager, nursing staff and all the staff I have met work tirelessly to make
Henwick Grange comfortable and happy. They have supported me also giving me help, advice and reassurance for which I am so grateful.
