Our experience with The Grange has been great. My father has received great treatment from all the staff, who do a brilliant job in general. Caring for my dad who suffers from Alzhimers + Dementia is difficult, but the staff do a great job!

Brancepeth Court

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My forty-six year old Son was admitted to Brancepeth Court, for a short respite week-end. Having Special needs throughout his entire Life including Autistic features, he is nonspeaking, However he has developed his own unique way of communicating. On our first visit he was hesitant to enter the building,
which was understandable being new. Staff welcomed both Him and I with genuine worth and respect. After a brief hand-over my Daughter and I left. On our return to pick him up to find he was very content and happy. He was offered the next week-end, which he enjoyed. On our Third visit, He was unable to contain his enthusiasm unwilling to wait, pushing me into the Building and leaving me to unpack his things while he entered the small communal area. On my return he was very reluctant to leave. I am unable to express my gratitude to the staff in the Willow unit at Brancepeth Court Actions Speak louder than Words. My Son has Found His Happy Place.
Thank You Willington Care Village.

Redworth House Care Home

from D C (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 January 2026

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum has been at Redworth House for approximately 2 weeks. Understandably, when nursing care became necessary, I was apprehensive about putting my mum in a care home. However, from the moment I spoke to the manager on the telephone and our subsequent visit to Redworth House any qualms were alleviated.
The manager and deputy were straight to the point, they answered questions openly and honestly. It was obvious that caring for the elderly and infirm is at the heart of everything they do.
My mum is cared for by staff who are friendly and approachable. They want her to keep as much of her independence as is possible, encouraging my mum to walk with a frame and to take part in social activities such as meal times.
To my mind my mum is receiving the best possible individual care available and I feel fortunate that a place at Redworth House was available for her.

My Dad has been a resident at Fern Gardens for 3 years, with Dementia and is on the WREN Unit.
Unfortunately during his time here he has broken his hip and is now bed bound, but the staff knew him well before his fall as he used to wander around chatting with them!
They know how to get the best
out of my Dad having known him a long time - they know he loves his tea & biscuits and he seems happy here for the whole time. He is always clean and shaved, and any minor cuts or bruises are always brought to our attention which we appreciate. Thank you Team Fern!

My mum moved in Sept 25, since then she has had the best care from all the team. As a nurse myself I know what excellent care is. As a family we felt care, love & understanding. Compassion at it's best. As mums health deteriorated, we were totally reassured that she was in good hands. We cannot thank
the team enough, registered nurses, carers, domestics and the admin team. They are all angels. Will always recommend this home.

My mother has been a resident for 4 years now .
She suffers from severe dementia which requires 1 on 1 care 24 hours .
The staff offer an unbelievable care . They treat my mum so well . With care and dignity .I have absolutely no problem in recommending this wonderful care home , run so so well by
Claire and Vanessa .
Believe me when it comes to care , the location , the gardens, the grounds , the rooms are not the most important , the care is, and the care here is exemplary.
Mum was in other homes prior who may have looked better , but could not care for her , so what does that say !
Thank you Claire and Vanessa and all the nurses , carers for the wonderful job you all do x
Reply from Claire May, Home Manager at The Fountains Care CentreThank you so much for your kind words. It really keeps our moral up and makes us smile. Your mum is great to be with and keeps us all fit! I will share your comments with all of the staff. Thank you again.

I was very upset that my husband had to move into a nursing home but the staff are all so kind and caring and they have made us both feel very welcome. Of course it is very difficult when a loved one has complex and conflicting needs, but the staff and GPs understand this and they are working together
as a team to try to resolve any problems. I can see my husband is eating very well and that he is being well cared for by all the staff at Fern Gardens.

When Edward my husband admitted to The Grange the family didn't know what to expect. He was very much family orientated man. We were worried if he fit in there but to our suprise he is sort of happy in his own way. The carers were/are very much helpful and adjusted with his behaviour. He can't remember
his own home. When I ask he say this is his home.

I am writing on behalf of my husband. He doesn't speak or write English. He is French. He is very satisfy about the nursing home. He told me all the staff and everything from management to least post. He was on second floor. All the staff (nurses, carers and the rest) were very kind and hepful. That
is what elderly people expect from staff. My husband (Roger) asked me to say big thanks for everything.

Ashurst Park Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Sister was admitted to Ashurst Park Care Home in June of this year after she was evicted from another local care home.
Until April 2023 she had lived independently and worked as a Solicitor. After a number of medical emergencies, she was sadly no longer able to live independently and we found her
what we thought was her forever home.Unfortunately, her mental and physical health declined.Although well looked after by the care staff, the new management decided that she would be better off in a different home.
Fortunately for our sister who is only 68 years old and her siblings, Jomina was prepared to admit her to Ashurst Park for her care.Jomina has been so caring and supportive. From day one along with the doctor and her wonderful care team, we were listened to and our concerns regarding our sister's are now being met.
We can now sleep at night and know that she is getting the care and attention she needs.I would just like to thank every staff member for their kindness to us all.
