Redworth House Care Home

from David H (Wife of Resident) published on 18 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My wife was at Redworth House for palliative care. When she first arrived we had problems some down to me and some to them but all my concerns were quickly address. After this shaky start the care she received was excellent from all the staff. My wife was treated with dignity and respect at all times,
the food I can not comment on as she would only eat ice cream by then but they did try. She passed away after 3 weeks and was prepared for next stage of her journey by them. Thank you all at Redworth House.

Donwell House Nursing Home

from J H (Friend of Resident) published on 15 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

As my friend, who is disabled, could no longer manage his day-to-day life in his own home, he went into Donwell House. I can see he is happier and more content. He has his own furniture in his room with personal things, which he likes, he is well looked after, which I am pleased to see. He has always
been a very independent man who got out and about in his electric vehicle chair when he lived alone, with the help of carers going in, so he is used to carers and accepts this is part of his life.

What an absolute joy Beechcare care home is. This was one of the hardest things I have had to do, but Beechcare made it so easy to put my husband in care. The whole place, people environment is outstanding. I didn't know places as good as this existed. It has just brought out the best in my husband.
He is so occupied and looked after and so happy. The staff are just absolute angels. This is truly a place where magic happens I just can't thank them enough.

I am truly grateful to the manager and staff of this amazing nursing home in their care of my Mum. They go above and beyond their commitment in caring for the residents. They are a blessing and live their vocation with empathy and kindness. Thank you for making life easier for people like myself. I
appreciate the cordial and warm conversations over the phone. God Bless you all.

County Homes Care Home

I honestly can not find fault with County Homes, the manager and the staff without their love, support and care for my dad, I don't know what I would do, every single member of staff I can see genuinely do care and love dad like their own. Nothing is ever too much trouble, Dad can be a handful, but
I have never heard any of them raise their voice or anything, they are all so lovely with him & are always there to support me also, which means the world to me! The only thing I would say would be to have more activities for the patients.

Donwell House Nursing Home

My friend went into Donwell House for respite but after 6 weeks knew he couldn't manage at home so decided to stay permanently. Now 8 months down the line he is settled in very nicely. He's very happy with everything, the staff are all very efficient, he loves all the activities. Everyone seems to go
the extra mile for all the residents. He is very happy with his choice and I have peace of mind knowing he is getting looked after.

My friend was admitted into hospital, he was told he needed to have respite, after being in Donwell House he realised he would not be able to cope at home, he stayed in the home where he said he loved being here as the meals are good, plenty of activities to do and the lovely staff are at hand to give
him support. My friend has always been a very private person, and the staff here have given him a new lease of life.

Fern Gardens Care Home

from Jolene C (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 24 July 2025

When I arrived to visit my grandad, there was no one on reception to greet me and let me in. When I managed to attract someone's attention I was quickly shown to the area I needed to go to. The staff all seemed friendly and said hello to me, but I was disappointed to see the communal TV showing you
tube reruns of Britain's got talent. Not exactly appropriate for the elderly residents staying there. My grandad said "I don't think much of the music they play here". Is this something the staff like to watch? Surely it would be more appropriate to have age related programs, maybe BBC 3, ITV4 etc, or easy listening radio, eg smooth fm. My grandad seemed happy with the care home other than this. When I left, again there was no one on reception to let me out.

Residents are well cared for in a very clean environment. Staff are dedicated and are caring in their roles. There are activities everyday and all residents are included regardless of their capabilities. Meals are nutritious and varied giving residents choice of alternatives. I would recommend this
care home to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

Only had a 2-week stay. I found all the staff helpful, understandable and accommodating to my needs. Specific mention should be given to the kitchen staff who went out of their way to cater for my dietary needs.

Elton Hall

from Dave L (Son of Resident) published on 11 July 2025

Following an internal audit, I was contacted by the staff to say that they had found some of Mum's belongings in a small envelope in their safe and arranged for them to be returned to me. These were important personal mementos that I had not realised were missing, so I was very grateful!
Elton Hall
looked after both Mum and Dad at the end of their lives, and the care, support and dignity they gave both during their final stages were outstanding. Both had dementia of different kinds, but the staff looked after both as individuals, ensuring that I always knew they were safe, well cared for and loved. For me, living 200 miles away, this was vital, and when I came over for my weekly or fortnightly visits, I was always made to feel welcome and brought up to speed on their care. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and I loved my visits, despite the travel.
I will forever be thankful for the professionalism, compassion, and love that the staff showed Mum and Dad.
