Overview

The Review Score of 9.3 (maximum of 10) for Lashbrook House Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 19 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Lashbrook House Care Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.602 for Lashbrook House Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (140 Excellents x 5) + (82 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 226 Ratings = 4.602

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.652 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lashbrook House Care Centre is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 9.2 positive Reviews (46 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 9.2 Target = 0.652

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

9.3 Lashbrook House Care Centre has a Review Score of 9.3 (9.254) from 19 Reviews

We visited eight care homes before deciding on Lashbrook House. From our initial visit in February we were made most welcome by the manager and the staff and we decided that Lashbrook House would be the right place for my mother. The staff were most helpful in helping us to bring in some personal furniture and pictures which are most important for my mother. There is a happy atmosphere at the home and a busy programme of events for the residents including one to ones with members of the staff. The doctor visits each week which is very reassuring and is on call for emergencies. Outings are arranged using the home's mini bus. Security is good. We are confident my mother will be well looked after.

Very peaceful and caring environment with superb staff who give constant care and support to my father day and night. Lots of activities for the residents to pass the time of day. Immaculate clean and bright rooms. We hope he will be able to stay at Lashbrook House after his respite as he is now more relaxed and enjoys his surroundings. All in all a first class and well led care home that should be commended. Highly recommended..

Mum had a wonderful respite stay at Lashbrook House, the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make her stay enjoyable. They were extremely patient, courteous and friendly, updating us at all times. We were very impressed with the level of care provided, especially the time taken to make sure she had everything she needed/wanted.

My mum needed emergency respite care.
The staff were so kind and helpful arranging a visit to see her at home to assess her needs. They reassured my mum who didn't want to leave her home that she would be very well looked after.
It was organised quickly and professionally.
Mum settled in instantly and was made to feel welcome and that they were there for here.
The activities provided were amazing and I've not seen my mum engage in so many different things.
The staff were thoughtful and fun always putting my mum's health and welfare first.

My sister was moved from London to Lashbrook, close to us and other family members for palliative care in her final weeks.
We could not have made a better choice. Deep in the countryside and close to the Thames, Lashbrook has a really warm atmosphere and every member of staff - administrative, nursing and caring - were kind and thoughtful. A Community nurse gave palliative care advice and cooperation with the Lashbrook nursing team was exemplary. Over the many hours I spent at Lashbrook it was apparent that much was done to organise a variety of activities for residents healthier than my sister - and to that catering was of a high standard.

My late husband was treated with care and kindness throughout his stay. Attention to his particular nutritional needs turned him from refusing to eat (and appearing skeletal) back to a man with a normal appetite, one with many frailties but more flesh on his bones.
His dignity was maintained at all times. Family members were able to take him out in a wheelchair whenever he was well enough. Flexibility was always exercised by staff. His frequent infections were promptly dealt with.
I/we cannot fault the care he was given.

After much deliberation we have decided to relocate my friend to a brand new care home very near to our home - distance has not enabled me to visit frequently. We have found the quality of care to be most impressive. The home is warm, clean and clearly comfortable - the staff are wonderful. I have only one single complaint and that is airlessness. So you see it is a very minor one! I find the atmosphere completely stifling and I do understand that elderly people feel the cold, but this is not fresh!

We could not have chosen a better care home. My mother spent her last days at Lashbrook and the staff made it as easy as possible for us. Everyone was extremely kind and respectful and eager to please. Her room was cheerful warm clean and comfortable. My mother became very frail however the carers included her in every activity she could enjoy and showed her their affection. The staff had good rapport with us and her GP and we were always welcomed whatever day or time it was.

Mum was resident for only four weeks and died at Lashbrook House. She was extremely difficult to deal with during this time due to severe dementia but the staff coped admirably and showed care and patience. We were always made to feel welcome and all our concerns were taken seriously and dealt with promptly. The staff were lovely.

Following a long period of complex health issues my Father required 24 hour nursing and assistance for all of his care needs, we required assurance all of his care needs would be met through effective communication, 24 hour nursing care, and access to Medical professionals if required, whilst living in pleasant and clean environment. Lashbrook House provided us with all of my Father's practical requirements with the addition of the 'personal touch'. All of the staff that I came in contact with were caring, professional, and empathetic. My father was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times and he appeared comfortable and peaceful during my regular visits to the home. The Home Manager communicated with me regularly of any changes and provided me and my family with the support required during what was a difficult period. I believe staff to be trained to a superior quality to deal with physical and cognitive impairment evident through the care my Dad received. I would like to thank the Manager and all staff on behalf of my Dad for making him feel 'at home' during his end of life.

My father is always content when we visit. If he was unhappy it would be evident. Staff are always knowledgeable about how he is. I am notified if any changes in his condition. We are always welcomed when we visit. I feel comfortable that he will be well looked after when I leave him. This is no small thing as I have not always felt so comfortable in previous establishment Dad has been resident in. I am delighted with the care he receives at Lashbrook.

My wife was admitted December 2014. We have always been impressed with the courtesy, good relations with the carers, nursing staff always very professional and very helpful. The catering is of a good standard with the chef discussing and providing a good menu. The maintenance team have hung pictures, corrected tv service and always on hand to help with any problems. Good facilities, hairdressing, chiropodist and trips out.
