Lashbrook House Care Home

My first impression of Lashbrook House was the friendly staff. Every visit, the staff were very helpful and happy to see you. The care for my father was amazing. The staff were very organised and accommodating when we asked to rearrange the layout in the room. Communications were timely and very clear. My father particularly enjoyed the wide range of activities organised each week and also the frequent "chats" with the staff. All round excellent. Thank you.

Lashbrook House is just a fantastic care home. It has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere from the minute that you walk in. The house and grounds are well kept. The staff are so caring and reassuring to the residents. All of the residents are treated with genuine dignity. Their needs and happiness are the priority. The food is varied and looks delicious. The entertainment is wide ranging and everyone is encouraged to join in. The staff keep me well informed about my mum and always answer queries promptly. It makes such a difference to my life knowing that my mum is well cared for and happy.

We have found all the things alright. Staff are always really friendly, and will help in many ways.

Superb care. Lovely, caring staff who are professional and competent and go beyond the call of the job. Great food, varied meals, well cooked and enjoyable. Good medical care from local surgery when required. Couldn't be better. We love the "Lashbrook House family".

The staff understood she liked to sing and her humour, which you may have trouble finding elsewhere.

My mum has been at Lashbrook for almost three years now. The staff are friendly and caring, and there is not a large turnover of staff, so Mum has forged relationships with her carers. The premises are very clean, and Mum really enjoys the food, especially her afternoon cakes. Pets are encouraged to visit, and there are many activities to join in if they want to. I am kept up to date at all times with regard to my mum's care and regularly discuss her day-to-day care.

I do love the tea trolley in the afternoon.

Lashbrook House Care Home is a caring, happy home. The staff are very friendly and smile a lot. My mum is happy there and well looked after. The staff know their residents well and take time to speak with us when we visit her. The garden is very pretty and quiet, and the home is kept very clean.

Lashbrook is well-planned and organised, with a full calendar of activities and entertainment circulated to family members. Those in care appear to have diverse needs, and I have noted these are well catered for - all getting the requisite attention individually needed. The attitude of the friendly staff to residents is particularly observed as being respectful and caring - again a sign of very capable and watchful leadership. Overall, an excellent care home.

When my husband arrived at Lashbrook he was aggressive after a stay in hospital. I was told I could no longer look after him. There was nowhere who could have taken him in our nearest town. A place was found at Lashbrook for him. A friend had to bring me and during our first visit he was pretty awful. But since then he has settled amazingly well. The staff have been great in helping him, they always recognise me and are really friendly and kind. He was never a great socialiser and watches TV in his room. Since he has been there - his TV is much bigger and he has an armchair!

Activities are well organised with a wide range.

My only concern is that it is difficult to keep track of clothing and much seems to go missing, even when named.

My mother has been a resident in Lashbrook for over three years, and throughout this time has been cared for very well and has been very happy to be there. One really good feature about Lashbrook is the 'family' feel and that the residents and their families are part of a community. There are activities arranged throughout the week, which my mother enjoys being part of, and parties are held for residents and their families in the summer and at Christmas, which are enjoyed by all. It should also be mentioned that the quality of the meals at Lashbrook is extremely good, with a choice of really nice home-cooked food. Finally, the staff are very kind and caring. They are also very responsive if there is anything requiring attention.

I am satisfied with all aspects of the performance of Lashbrook House with the exception of their telephone answering. On several occasions, especially at weekends, they have not answered the telephone.

My stepmother has been at Lashbrook since January 2021. During her time there, I have found the level of care to be first-class. From the moment I arrive to the moment I leave, I feel the warmth of the home. Such wonderful, welcoming and caring staff. The home is well organised, in pristine condition and offers a wide range of activities for the residents.

My mother, with advanced Alzheimer's, has been a resident here for 1.5 years. We are very happy with the home. They are so welcoming and friendly. The staff are smiling, polite and helpful. The manager is extremely approachable, listens to any worries and makes change happen if needed. Mum always looks well looked after and clean. The home is in a lovely setting, a great garden, and there's always a quiet area inside to take Mum. They hold events for families, and residents are treated with great respect. She has a good-sized room, and on request, it was given a new coat of paint. Communication from the home is good, including a Facebook page.

Lashbrook is a peaceful and safe place to live.

My mother was transferred here in December 2023. The whole team are warm, caring and very sociable. The management team are clearly effective and highly motivated. There are activities most days, although the staff leave Mum in peace if that's what she chooses on any given day. In addition, it is a huge relief to have her living much closer and knowing she is kept safe.

Everything comes from the top, and they need to value their manager, who encourages the right atmosphere and really makes all the staff feel wanted too.
