The care has been exceptional, kind, caring, supportive, attentive, from all the staff led by Geraldine at Clarendon House. All the staff have been friendly, assertive and I find it very endearing how they call him "Papa".
The home is clean, and welcoming, the food is prepared in the kitchen and
always smells delicious. I am often asked if I would like a cup of tea or coffee. Most importantly he is happy and that means more to me than anything. If he wasn't I would know, as he would tell me.
I am contacted when needed for updates and always greeted with a smile from staff members.
This has been the best experience and care for my Dad since he moved into Clarendon House for care. The activities and his room comforts make it so homely, and it is always warm and smells fresh and clean.

I am writing on behalf of my husband. He doesn't speak or write English. He is French. He is very satisfy about the nursing home. He told me all the staff and everything from management to least post. He was on second floor. All the staff (nurses, carers and the rest) were very kind and hepful. That
is what elderly people expect from staff. My husband (Roger) asked me to say big thanks for everything.

Excellent staff, truley care for the patients. The staff are very accomadating and flexible for visitors as we have our committments. They are polite and thankful for the visits making it a warm experience. They are attentive and really have a hospitality mindset. They work as a team and solve problems
really well..without a fuss.
Almost all staff are young and work with a mission in their hearts.

Nothing but impressed with Clarendon Nursing Home and the way they have looked after my partner. When he first arrived he was scared, angry and confused, with patience, kindness and compassion he has settled in very well. I have always found the staff and the manager welcoming and always have time to
listen if there are any concerns. I feel blessed that my partner is a resident here as I can visit easily and always made to feel welcome.

My review of Clarendon Nursing Home is fairly simple. The home in general treats us as humans which is more than other places have. A safe space is created where we are encouraged to be ourselves. Residents and staff become a family. The care provided comes from the team who cares. A building is empty
without the character of people within. Clarendon is a place I'm proud to call home.

Clarendon Nursing Home looked after my mother with compassion and dignity throughout her four-year stay as a resident. Nothing was ever too difficult, from manager to carer staff were ever so attentive and caring. They kept me informed of everything to do with my mum. When my mother reached her end
of life they kept me informed and ensured I got to her in time to say my goodbyes. They didn’t just support her but they supported me too during this difficult time and communicated with me with thoughtfulness and compassion even after her death. My family and I are grateful.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.190)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.190) out of 10 for Clarendon Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.657 for Clarendon Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 102 Ratings = 4.657
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.533 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clarendon Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
