Our son has been a resident for fifteen years, and during that time Amathea has been a lovely caring environment for him from every member of staff. The food is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. All of the staff make his life so happy and we want to thank them all for the exceptional care he receives.
My Mom (Aged 98 at that time) sustained a fractured neck of femur, following a fall, and it soon became clear that some form of residential care would be needed, following a period of rehab. I was extremely fortunate that my sister-in-law works as a paramedic, and regularly visits most of the care homes in the area. It was her initial recommendation of Amathea as being the best which helped in making what has proven to be the correct decision for Mom's care and welfare. Her Amathea residency started in March 2025 The staff, I've found to be of the highest standard, and Mom's meds are delivered via a foolproof system, preventing over or under prescription. For complete peace of mind, Amathea operate a feedback system which reports to me immediately if any problems might arise, and this combined with regular room visits takes such a lot of worry away from her day to day life. I'm confident Mom will be celebrating her 100th year at Amathea!
Amathea is a lovely clean welcoming friendly home. My mother loves all the staff who are all very friendly making the home a happy place to live. It is well run with activities that cover a wide range of interests for the residents. The food is also varied and mum loves all her meals. From the cleaners to the senior staff they are all very dedicated to make the stay for mum special.
As a family Amathea has welcomed us all into the home. It is a warm, caring environment. Full of laughter and good spirit from both staff and residents. My parent is happy and enjoying being in the home.
Mam continues to thrive in Amathea. She looks so healthy and much more relaxed about life. She is so positive about her experience and has taken this next step on life's road really well. The staff are kind and caring with all the residents and their families.
My Mam has been in Amathea care home for just under 12 months. In that time she has been very very well looked after. The staff are excellent. The food very good. The management are always willing to help and listen to concerns, .of which I have had none. She has had bouts of ill health while in the home during these periods she has been well cared for and all her medical needs dealt with quickly and efficiently
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Amathea to anyone who is looking for a place for a loved one to stay. It really is a home from home. Very well managed. My dad is really well cared for. The carers are all lovely caring people and go the extra mile to make sure my dad is comfortable and well looked after. There are plenty of daily activities to keep the residents enertained/occupied. The food is amazing. Couldn't have picked a better place. Dad is happy so I am happy too.
My Mum was admitted to Amathea in June 2025. She was made very welcome by staff and other residents. She went in for respite care but fell in love with the home and asked to stay full time. Mam is loving her room and the staff, she enjoys the activities that happen on a daily basis. Not only have the staff made mam very happy and safe they welcome us when we visit. The way the home is run there is always somewhere private to talk to Mam and I find the staff very helpful with any requests. I would highly recommend this home to all my friends and family. I have worked in care homes for over 40 years and this one gets full marks from me
Care home very satisfactory. Staff very friendly. Activities enjoyable - going to visit places to get out and about is great. Overall very satisfied with everything.
My mum was made welcome as soon as she entered the home. The staff go above and beyond in some cases to make sure she is comfortable at all times. The food is of a very high standard with a choice of meals each day.
Mum went into the Amathea for two weeks of respite care. She was very apprehensive and nervous about her stay. From day one, she settled in very well and has since decided to make her stay permanent. She finds the staff very friendly and is making some new friends.
My 85-year-old mother has been a resident at Amathea for four months now. Five stars. We have found Amathea to be a lovely and caring environment from every member of staff, they are polite and have time for every resident. The whole building is very well maintained. and kept spotlessly clean. Mother's bedroom was freshly decorated before admission. No offensive odours (unlike many care homes). Excellent food and activity programme.
Professional and diligent staff who have every aspect of care and comfort covered.
My mum has been a resident for nearly five years. I have had fantastic relationships with the staff. I am always kept in the loop and the home is extremely welcoming, never too busy to take time for any queries. My mum is very happy there. A huge thank you for the care my mum receives.
It is now four months since my stepmother went into care and we are delighted she has settled in well and is very happy and the quality of her care has been exceptional. There are many numerous things that make the whole time there so outstanding. We feel that the operative work, without doubt, is care. The whole staff are really, without fail, very caring and attentive and always demonstrate a professional attitude whilst having time to talk to people. We as a family are delighted. Thank you.
Really good facilities. Very clean and rooms are good quality. Staff are friendly and patient, but also professional. Food is excellent.
I was tested for covid and well looked after by the staff. Your home was warm and very clean. My sister's room was lovely, the staff very helpful and I would be pleased to recommend Amathea.
The residents always look happy and my Aunt only has good words for the staff and all they do. I've worked in care for over 22 years and fully understand how difficult it can be to motivate individuals with dementia-type illness but these residents are always doing things with enthusiasm.
My mother entered Amathea quite unwell and very depressed following a hospital stay and caching covid in March this year. She is now a totally different lady in terms of positivity and physical strength. The activities provided by the Activity Coordinators are excellent and keep my mum stimulated mentally. Care for her personal needs is of a high standard and the GP is contacted quickly when needed. I will forever be grateful to Amathea for their support and care of my mum at a particularly low point in her life.
Amathea has the kindest and loveliest staff. They have made my nana feel incredibly welcome at a very difficult time after an injury she sustained. Nothing is too much trouble and myself and my family are confident that my nana is well looked after in a warm and safe environment. We could not recommend Amathea more. Thank you for everything.
