Very happy with all aspects of Bryn Edwin on how my dad is looked after
25 September 2025
Mum has been a resident of Bryn Edwin Hall for over three years and we have always been very satisfied with the level of care and attention she receives. The staff led by their manager Leanne, and team leaders Rebecca and Darren are very attentive and helpful.

My husband comes in for day care a few times a week, this has made such a massive difference to us both. He's happy to go to day care and I feel confident in leaving him with such lovely staff. He's benefited from having a change of scene and we're sure that he is very well cared for at the home.

My grandma attends day care and occasionally respite, the girls are absolutely brilliant with her, she always sings there praises when she comes home, they pick her up and drop her off every week. She enjoys socializing with the other service users and doing the activities

The minute I walked into Bryn Edwin I had a good feeling. 7 months on and that feeling still exists. I can not fault the care and love that is given to the residents. My Mum has not found it easy to settle in but the staff have been so patient and encouraging towards her.
The family hub allows you
to see what your loved one is doing all day and night.

Staff are very sociable towards my dad, he's well looked after and very well fed. Plenty of activities for my dad to get involved with too. Lovely clean room too.
Dad alway looks happy and has a good laugh with the staff. There's plenty of reception rooms for him to choose from.

Our uncle has not been at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home long but he has settled in well and he is enjoying having the company of people of a similar age.
He has become much more sociable which is lovely to see. All the staff we have met, so far, have been warm, friendly and helpful.
He is eating and drinking well and is being kept safe from falls. His bedroom is a good size with an en-suite bathroom and a nice view. Knowing that our uncle is being well cared for in a safe environment gives us peace of mind and reassurance. Thank you all for looking after him and keeping him safe.

Staff are always kind and so very patient with our dear mother, who has been quite trying for them at times with her sometimes difficult behaviour! We're very happy with her being there and hopefully, she will be able to remain at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home for the foreseeable
future.

My mum has been a resident at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home for three years now. The care she receives is fantastic. Despite her challenging behaviours, the whole team continue to treat her with patience, kindness, dignity and with a smile on their faces. They get to know their
residents so well that they know immediately if there are any issues and escalate appropriately. Not only do the staff look after Mum, they always have time to talk to me and, as a child of a parent with dementia, this is priceless. Thank you all for your support.

My brother is very happy, very settled and enjoys the company of the staff and other residents.
He enjoys the entertainment and activities.
10 January 2025
The staff are friendly and approachable. They always treat my mum with respect. Her appearance is always clean and tidy.
The food always looks tasty and gets no complaints from my mum!
I'd happily recommend Bryn Edwin!

Everyone in the home is so helpful and supportive. It's good to see the continuity of staff. The staff are professional and always on hand, either in person or on the telephone or via the portal, with any queries we may have. My mother has settled in very well and they take the stress away, knowing
my mother is being well cared for. The activities provided by the staff are appreciated, always helping to keep patients occupied throughout the day.

Residents are left unattended for extended periods. Hamlet residents are left for at least 30 minutes behind a coded door during the transition between day and night staff. The manager acknowledged the need for staff training on managing challenging behaviours, something that should arguably be a
fundamental requirement in the job description. Unfortunately, if a resident does not remain compliant, they seem to be unwelcome. The response of saying sorry, we couldn't meet your father's needs, is deeply inadequate - especially given the distressing reality that their handling of his situation nearly resulted in severe harm during his eviction while unwell. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this home for your loved one!

My father became a resident in June 2024 and have previously attended an activity morning once a week. He has settled well, reviews and regular communication systems are in place and the staff are welcoming and receptive. Dad's level of care is very good and he responds well to the staff who treat
him as an adult and have given him particular jobs to do in an established routine which is important to him.

Very welcoming to visitors. Safe environment for Mum. Staff work very hand.
09 September 2024
My relative is cared for with respect and dignity. The food served is all cooked on-site and of a good standard. The staff are attentive to ensure that adequate help is given with meals and that residents drink plenty. This has particularly helped my relative as in their previous home they lost
weight and were prone to urine infections.
The home is in an old building which needs updating and improving. Work on this has recently started which was needed.
Staff are always welcoming and considerate towards my relative's spouse when visiting, who has their own care needs too.

My mother has been a resident for a few years and requires support for health and hygiene. I have found Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home staff caring and attentive and believe Mum to be happy in her environment. Although would wish Mum to be able to live independently and support herself
in her own home, this is not possible but Bryn Edwin provides the next best thing.
23 August 2024
Dad is well looked after and enjoys his time at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home. There are lots of activities and group-involved tasks but they also have their own space if required. Staff are great and if any issues they resolve them quickly. The new outside area will be good for the
residents to get their fresh air time.
22 August 2024
I am thoroughly impressed with the care provided at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home. From the moment I first visited, it was clear that this is a facility that truly prioritises the well-being of its residents. The care plans are up-to-date and discreetly displayed in the room, ensuring
that the resident receives personalised attention tailored to their individual needs.
The staff are not only professional but genuinely caring. They go above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe and valued. It's evident that the team is dedicated to making each day enjoyable for everyone in their care. There is always something going on to keep residents engaged, happy and mobile. Whether it's a group exercise session, a creative craft activity or a social event, there's something for everyone.
Overall, I cannot recommend Bryn Edwin enough. It's a place where residents are not only well cared for but are also treated with dignity and respect.
22 August 2024
The recent inspection report is a picture of perfection, this is far from reality. They must have been well prepared.
This picture of perfection may be the case if the resident doesn't have behavioural issues, for which EMI care homes are supposed to be experienced and trained in. The staff here
are not at all. Favouritism with certain residents in decision-making is apparent.
My father was exited from the home in a panicked fashion to A&E a week before this inspection where he deteriorated hugely, after a number of weeks of a very badly handled situation. Second resident in a matter of months. Is this what it takes to paint the picture of perfection.
