Mum suffers from Alzheimer's and she has been a resident of Burgh House since June 2024. From day one, I found the home to be well run, with the staff friendly and approachable. There are weekly activities, which mum was originally able to participate in, and which she seemed to enjoy. As her
condition has declined she has continued to be cared for with dignity, and her care needs adjusted as needed
The home is well maintained and is always clean and tidy.
Overall I am really happy that I chose Burgh House

My mum has been here since September 2024. The level of care is outstanding. Points that I base this on are:
1 The respect and approach to all residents displays true care and understanding.
2 All residents names used
3 All residents individualism recognised
4 Genuine concern shown for all
residents, some of whom can be very needy and not always easy (dementia, Alzheimer's etc)
5 Staff levels always very high both during the week and at weekends.
6 Food and choices are outstanding, nothing too much trouble.
7 Tea/coffee drinks and fruit always available
8 All questions and concerned addressed professionally and promptly
9 Cleanliness is of the highest level.
10 Daily activities plentiful and something for everyone
11 Residents encouraged to show independence
12 Humour is both used and encouraged among staff and residents
13 Contact prompt and helpful (such as my mum fell in her room)
14 Security in and out is excellent
Cannot praise highly enough

The staff at Burgh House treat my mum with care and dignity. They encourage her to join in activities and to sit in the main room and go into the dining room for meals. They contact me if there are any issues around mums condition or needs.

My Father has been at Burgh House since June 2024. He has settled in well even though he tends to keep himself to himself. There are activities he could join in with but prefers not to. He is very strong willed and tries to be as independent as possible. The care staff acknowledge this and support
his wishes the best they can. I find the fees expensive for his needs but appreciate care home fees generally are high. It is a shame he does not get the full benefit of residing here.
Overall I am pleased we found Burgh House and thank all the staff and management for their dedication.

From the moment our family connected with Burgh House, we knew we had found somewhere truly special. The staff welcomed our dad with genuine warmth and respect, treating him not just as a resident, but as a member of their extended family. Their compassion, attention to detail, and professionalism
went far beyond what we ever expected.
Every aspect of the care - from daily routines to emotional support - was thoughtfully managed, with an atmosphere of kindness and dignity that permeated everything they did. The team went above and beyond to make his days comfortable and meaningful, and their unwavering support brought our whole family immense peace of mind.
Burgh House isn't just a care home - it's a place where people are valued, understood, and cherished. We are endlessly grateful for everything they did for our dad and for the heartfelt care they showed every step of the way.
Thank you to everyone at Burgh House for your incredible dedication and for making a real difference.

We found Burgh House at short notice, I viewed on same day of calling, very open with information and showed me all the facilities which were perfect for Mum's needs of respite, she loves it so much she has decided to become a permanent resident. I haven't seen her this happy in a long time. All
staff members are very helpful, polite, caring and treat Mum with respect. Thank you. It has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.

Our mother resided at Burgh House for five months until her passing a few weeks ago at the age of 98. My sister and I would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff for the outstanding care she received whilst at Burgh House. Nothing was too much trouble. The management was also
outstanding, ensuring my sister and I were looked after at our time of need. Thank you to the manager and one of the assistant managers, you have created an amazing care home you should be very proud of.

My mum has now been in Burgh House for a year, it took her a while to get used to being in a home, but now she is enjoying it. Her quality of life has improved a lot, she likes taking part in all the activities. The home is lovely and bright with no smell of urine. All the staff are friendly and
always available if there is a problem. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to family and friends.

The home is well-run by a good management team.
They listen and try to correct any issues. Communication is sometimes disconnected and results in gaps in care.
There always seems to be a difference in care when new members of the care team start.
The overall condition of the home is good but the
lift is very small and it's a struggle to get in with a wheelchair. Cleanliness on the whole is good, laundry very good, sometimes the table in the room is not cleaned regularly especially the legs! The staff all work hard, are very polite and kind. Always happy to listen and get issues corrected asap. Unfortunately the food is poor at times.

I find Burgh House a home from home for Mum. Staff are always kind and friendly and do their best even when rushed off their feet. Food always looks tasty and wholesome. If I have an issue I can always approach a member of staff and management and mostly deal with it straight away, equally, they
come to me if a problem has popped up. Happy we chose Burgh House for Mum. She likes living there.

My auntie spent the last few months of her life at Burgh House as she became difficult for us to care for her at home. I write on behalf of our family as she only had surviving nieces and nephews. Burgh House is just down the road and we always heard what a lovely place it was. Now we have had
firsthand experience.
The staff were always smiling and delivered an excellent standard of care to our auntie. Burgh House gave us a feeling of a happy and safe place to be.
The management team always communicated with us giving regular updates on Auntie’s wellbeing.
Burgh House during a challenging time for our family will always be remembered and appreciated.

Staff were very caring and efficient - very kind to me, and pleasant every time I visit my dear friend.
The home is clean, fresh and bright, and a happy place to be.

So happy to have found such an amazing place to care for my dear mum. The home goes the extra mile all the time to provide the best possible care. The events programs are so bang on for the residents and there are lots of choices. No one really wants to put a loved one into care but Burgh House has
such a family feel about it we all agree Mum is living her best life. The staff are a credit to their occupation and keep us fully updated with all of Mum's care plans. I can fully understand the high score they receive for the service they provide.

Both of my parents are in Burgh House they are very happy there, all the staff are very caring and helpful. Their room is lovely overlooking the well-kept garden, which they are looking forward to sitting in when the weather is warmer! All their pictures and family photos were fixed to the walls by
the maintenance staff which made their room more homely, thanks to everyone for making them so welcome!

I have been very happy with the standard of care my mother has received since she has moved in. In the 3 years Mum has lived at Burgh House, she has received excellent care. The staff are friendly and polite. Mum also gets on well with the other residents.

Compared to our experience with other care homes, Burgh House appears to offer its residents a lot more interaction, entertainment and excursions. This is clearly very important to the mental well-being of residents and a confidence builder for our family. No one likes to see their loved ones in
care at all, but when they are, they want to see them being cared for and shown empathy, respect and even love.

As is usual, our visits to the home are welcoming, even though the staff are very busy. Our stepmother isn't aware, her moods are 'up and down' so we are ordered 'not to chat' or 'to go home' at times, but staff are available for updates! I had Covid in December so not so many visits. A lot of our
time has been taken up by calls and emails to social services and Stepmother's bank HO dug to a problem, now sorted. We are relieved that Stepmum can remain at Burgh House.

I moved my mum to Burgh House in July 2023. It took about 6 weeks for her to settle in but now she loves it and joins in all the activities. The staff are all friendly and approachable and you can see they actually care about the residents. I like the fact I can visit Mum whenever I wish, no
appointment necessary, as is the case with some care homes. I would recommend Burgh House to anyone.

My wife had to go into a care home as I’m 85 years old and was no longer able to provide the care at home that she needed. This care home was once used by a dear friend of ours and we did visit every a few times before she passed on. We were so impressed with the care she received we had no
hesitation in choosing Burgh House. My wife has now been there now one year and four months and because we have been married for over sixty-five years and very, very rarely separated she found it at first very difficult to settle in. The management went out of their way many times to help her settle in including changing her room and finding space during the day where she could continue with her hobby. They have been wonderful and she’s now very settled and happy and now helps any new guests to settle in if they are finding it difficult like she went through.

My dad was 95 and he went into Burgh House Care Home while we went on a break. The staff were kind and caring. His room was lovely and looked out onto the garden. He enjoyed his days there, they got him all his foods he liked to eat in. Nothing was too much trouble and I feel that I was listened to
on all things I needed to know.
