For over six years, my mother was a resident at Newbury Grove, and the experience was always excellent and on the odd occasions it fell short they remedied quickly . The care she received was warm, personal, and genuinely centred around her individual needs, making her feel valued and respected every day. The food was consistently delicious and well-presented, with attention given to both nutrition and personal preferences - something she always looked forward to. Activities were exceptionally thoughtfully designed on a person-centric basis, ensuring she could engage in things she enjoyed, keeping her mind and spirit active. The staff were welcoming, kind, and always went the extra mile to create a friendly, family-like atmosphere. Underpinning it all was a strong, hands-on leadership team who not only set high standards but also got things done promptly and effectively. I will always be grateful for the care, compassion, and professionalism that made my mother's years there so happy

Mum received an excellent standard of care at Newbury Grove. Also outstanding empathy, compassion and genuine affection to comfort her throughout difficult times. The staff are wonderful and I am very grateful to them. Also the standard of facilities and cleanliness is excellent. The accessible garden is lovely and the entertainments and food are great. Highly recommended.

Newbury Grove far exceeded my hopes for a care home for mum and dad in their final years. The loving environment created by all the staff makes it feel like a family, backed up by the professionalism and dedication of the skilled care and nursing staff when needed. There is a can do attitude around the home that makes everyday living joyful and much thought goes into the activities and enrichment programme offered to all the residents. I always found it easy to talk to staff about any concerns I had about my parents health and well-being. I was made to feel part of the team and listened to and I thoroughly appreciated their professional advice as I knew they had my parents best interests at heart. I wholeheartedly recommend the home to friends I talk to and explain to them how it enhanced the quality of life for my elderly parents.

Newbury Grove Care Home was a good experience throughout. Staff were always attentive and showed appropriate flexibility and skills to reflect Mum's particular needs. The support provided and overall approach in the last few weeks was particularly appreciated.

My husband has dementia & moved into Newbury Grove in April 2025 as I could no longer give him the care he so needed. I looked at 8-10 homes & as soon as I visited I knew that this was where I wanted him to be. As with all homes I visited the average age is higher than my husbands years but they have accommodated him well - everyone knows him - staff and residents - & he is very happy waving to everyone as he wanders around. I need not have worried about the guilt, he is in the best place for both of us. The care is outstanding, nothing is too much trouble. Everyone works with a smile at all times, never have I seen anyone cross or frustrated with the work they do - they all deserve medals for the dedication to their role. I also chose Newbury Grove as they employ nurses. I am reassured that if anything needs urgent medical attention, then it is right there & acted on immediately and I am always kept informed. I am so happy I made the right choice with choosing Newbury Grove.

I cannot fault Newbury Grove Care Home for the incredible care and attention they gave my mum. I moved her to be nearer to me in 2023 and from the moment she arrived the staff treated her with care and respect. The home quickly found out what my mother enjoyed doing, when it was good to engage her in an activity and when to leave her alone. The atmosphere at the home is always very positive and the staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely care about the residents wellbeing; not just their physical health but their mental wellbeing too. With this i was also kept well informed about any issues my mum may have had. Mum loved doing the quizzes that were regularly arranged and the entertainment team work tirelessly to come up with innovative and imaginative activities to stimulate all the residents. Sadly my mum is no longer with us, but again the staff treated me and my family with such compassion when she passed away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Newbury Grove to anyone.

A wonderful home from home atmosphere where the whole family are made to feel welcome. The staff are amazing , so caring, cheerful and supportive. A wide range of activities and real thought gone into making each day special.

I can not fault Newbury Grove Care Home. I moved my Father here from the south coast 2 years ago. From day 1 the carers looked after him incredibly well. Always keeping me informed of the littlest things. The home never smelt 'off', always clean and fresh. The cafe downstairs was always busy, with bingo games, birthday celebrations, or residents just hanging out! All the staff are incredibly friendly, I got to know them all, carers, entertainers, cooks, handyman - all are so friendly. For a establishment which has to deal with so much death and illness, the general atmosphere is happy, I never felt sad, even in the last days of my Fathers life, everyone was so happy - and so it should be! I would recommend Newbury Grove to anyone.

Well where do I start, when my partner and I first came down to view Newbury Grove we were amazed at the homely, friendly feel straight away. Everyone made us feel very welcome. The lovely admission advisor then showed us around, stopping and speaking to her residents on the way. Even the residents spoke to us, complete strangers. A guided tour that really felt welcoming and like a big hug. From the hair salon to the dining room to the lounges everywhere very clean and tidy but again homely. My mother-in-law came in August after a fall and broken hip and has slowly settled loving all the staff and the wonderful care she gets, including nursing care is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, always with a smile (and she can be demanding!). We've bought in photos, pictures etc to make the room her own. It was a daunting move for us all but again plenty of care and reassurance for us all as a family. I cannot speak highly enough of the complete care from everyone and would recommend Newbury Grove to anyone.

My mother (aged 96) became a resident at Newbury Grove in August 2024, after leaving hospital as a result of a broken hip. We visited several other care homes in the area before making our final decision. Our first impression of the home when entering the building was how welcoming and friendly all the staff were. The home was spotlessly clean and it was immediately noticeable how happy and well looked after the residents were. We were greeted by the Homes Admission Advisor, who gave us an extensive guided tour of the home and assisted us in dealing with the admission process. She also ensured that the accommodation offered was the most suitable for my mother's needs. The home offers everything you could possibly wish for. Fantastic in-house nursing care, superb freshly cooked meals, entertainment, hairdressers and of course an excellent team of carers. Not only are the residents well looked after, family and friends are too and have the opportunity to dine with their loved one.

I have had the pleasure of visiting a friend at this care home, 4-5 times now, and have been able to join her for lunch on 2 occasions. The ambience and the overall feel is lovely, all the staff who I have had the pleasure to meet have been marvellous, and go above and beyond, special people! A note to the chef, food is fab and nutritious, well done. It's bright cheerful, and the standard of cleanliness and attention to detail is extremely high. Well done everyone. (Chef see you Wednesday for cake).

My mother recently passed away having lived at Newbury Grove for 5 years having moved from another home in Newbury which we were unhappy with. The difference in the two homes was remarkable. Newbury Grove had so much more space and felt so inviting from the moment we walked in. My mother was on the Memory Care floor as she had dementia. The home was well managed with the care and dignity of residents being at the heart of everything. Without exception, the quality of care provided was first class and the staff clearly took great pride in their jobs. In the final few days, the palliative care they provided was dignified and considerate to both us as a family and to my mother. We are truly grateful to all the staff at this home and cannot speak more highly of our experience. We currently still have another relative living at the home and are also very happy with their care. I would recommend this care home without reservation to anyone looking for care for themselves or a relative.

It was necessary for Mum to move into a care home and after plenty of research we chose Newbury Grove as it met all our requirements, and we are very pleased we did. From the initial meeting, viewing the room, being shown around the facilities and explaining the different care packages, the whole team were excellent and extremely professional in their approach. Mum was a resident there for a year and during that time she received first-class care and medical support and was encouraged to join in with all the activities. She felt that this was now her home and quickly made friends. I cannot applaud and recommend enough the efforts of the care, support and nursing staff and the first-class attention she received during her time there. Nothing was ever too much trouble, we received regular updates either by phone if more urgent or personally each time we visited and everyone from reception staff to the manager was always available to promptly deal with any requests or issues.

Over the last 14 months my Dad has received outstanding care. The best-managed care home I have been in. And, as an NHS professional and a relative I have been in a few! The chief nursing staff were all outstanding. Each time I visited Dad, someone made an effort to come and say hello and update me. This made a big difference as Dad had dementia. The nursing staff and carers were very professional and kind and supportive. There were a couple who were particularly good at managing Dad when his behaviour was difficult. Even if they weren’t rostered in his area, they would always be available to help if needed. The activities coordinators tried very hard to engage him and encourage him to join in. The environment was lovely, particularly the outdoor space. My feeling is that the retention and recruitment was good, always a reflection of good management and leadership. I particularly appreciated the easy access to the manager. Always said hello and dealt with queries promptly.

My mother recently passed away after spending five happy years at Newbury Grove where she was very well cared for by the wonderful staff. I always looked forward to visiting her as there was a lovely atmosphere, I also appreciated the variety of activities and entertainments that were organised by the team. Big thanks to everyone at Newbury Grove for helping make Mum's later years so happy and comfortable.

My relative stayed stayed in Newbury Grove for five years and was very happy there. The staff took great care of her, became her friends and helped her feel completely at home. In 2023, she turned 100, and the home organised a wonderful party for her. Later that year, her personal funds ran out, and Newbury Grove helped with the transition to state funding, allowing her to continue in the home. When she passed away a few months later, the staff were marvellous in helping with arrangements, including hosting a memorial meeting in the home attended by relatives as well as a good number of the staff who cared for her. Thank you Care UK and the staff at Newbury Grove for helping make her later years so happy and comfortable.

My aunt has been at Newbury Grove Care Home for two years now and has been very well cared for. I can visit her any time and there is a wonderful area where we can have coffee and cake together and also a lovely garden which she very much enjoys spending time in. There is always a wide variety of activities each week for residents to participate in and regular visitors providing musical entertainment. Throughout the year, family members are invited to join their loved ones for BBQs and other celebrations.

Mum initially went to Newbury Grove for respite after a spell in hospital. Despite the fact that she was initially only temporary, the management and staff went out of their way to make her feel at home and more importantly safe. It was therefore an easier decision for her family to make her a permanent resident. She is now fully settled in her room with items from her home. She has made friends with other residents and enjoys joining in with the activities. Carers and management are friendly and always willing to have a quick chat with her as well as her family. We would have no hesitation in recommending Newbury Grove.

Very sadly, we lost our beloved friend on Easter Day this year; she had been a chosen member of our family for fifty years and she was given to us as a truly most precious gift. She developed dementia many years ago and had spent the last seven years of life in the most wonderful care home, Gracewell in Newbury; finding this exceptional home had been such a blessing for us all. The loving care that she received from each and every one of the members of the team was phenomenal, huge attention to detail and also so much consideration, not only for their residents, but also for their families. Over the years I really felt that each and every one of us had been cared for, through these sad and difficult times, as close members of the one big family. I cannot thank each and every one of this exceptional team enough for all that they have given to our friend, and to all of us.

My mother died in early April and was ill throughout March. The staff looked after her so well and with great care. We were kept informed of her condition and when any of the family visited they were very kind to us.
