View Full Details of Glastonbury CourtIn September 2024, our mum suffered a stroke, just weeks after being widowed in July. It was an incredibly difficult time for our family, and following her informal diagnosis of dementia, it became clear she could no longer live independently or care for herself. We explored several care options, many of which seemed suitable and welcoming, but ultimately chose Glastonbury Court-and we're so glad we did. From the very first day, Glastonbury Court felt like home. The staff are not only professional and attentive, but also genuinely warm and compassionate. The environment is calm, caring, and inclusive-qualities that have made a huge difference to both my mum and our family. What stands out most is how consistently happy and safe my mum feels. Despite her dementia, she regularly tells me and my sister how well looked after she is, and how lucky she feels to be there. She even shares this with her grandchildren, which speaks volumes about the comfort and security she experiences daily.
I cannot praise Glastonbury Court highly enough for the way they are looking after my dad, with his dementia and other needs. During a very tough period of time looking after my mum with her own issues, it's been an utter relief to know that dad is being cared for in such an exemplary way. Even though I have felt guilty about not being able to visit, the staff at GC have given me the confidence to know I can leave his care in their safe hands. It's so good, my mum is probably going there for her care needs too!
When we came into the home on the first day, we were made to feel welcome from the very staff. All staff made us feel like we were part of the family and this feeling has continued throughout my wife's stay, which helped her settle in quickly, and she seems very happy a present. Well done!
My grandmother was moved here after several years of being in a much poorer care home for end of life care. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and facilities on offer and the level of care was also superior. I only wish she could have been moved here sooner to benefit from what this care home offers.
My father and I are able to relax now that Mum is receiving excellent care at Glastonbury Court. Every single member of staff from management, admin, nurses, carers, cleaners and kitchen staff really care & they show it! My whole family & most importantly Mum, are treated with respect, professionalism, warmth & care. Everyone knows us and greets us with a smile, every day.
The general improvement over just a few days was remarkable. The staff were kind and supportive with great encouragement.Day by day we could see the change in her mobility and more willing to join in activities.
The staff, the atmosphere and the decor at Glastonbury Court are all lovely! I felt very relaxed about my husband being there while I had a much needed rest! Great cafe with very nice home made cakes and lots of seating areas in the pleasant garden. This was my first use of a care home for some respite care and I was so worried about the whole thing ! But the staff really made me feel very confident and comfortable about leaving my husband in their capable hands.
With both of my parents in Glastonbury Court, one with Alzheimer's and the other with Dementia, it has been a tricky and difficult four years since my mother first went in. The home has made every effort to ensure that my mother is looked after and it's plain to see that she looks at the staff with genuine adoration. My father's needs are less, but still enough that he can't live alone, so the home has been very accommodating in allowing him to be on the same floor as my mother so they can spend time together. The thing that strikes me the most when visiting is that everyone knows their names, from the person hoovering around to the people delivering the food from the kitchens. There is genuine care for the residents, not just their medical and physical needs but also as individuals and the people they were before their illnesses took over. Thank you to all of the staff for their continued care and kindness.
My stepmother has been at Glastonbury since July 2024, her care has been excellent. The staff are caring, helpful and patient. I am very pleased with her care. They have many activities to keep their minds busy and alert. She has had a couple of falls and other small mishaps. The staff have taken care of her every time. I couldn't ask for more.
My sister moved into Glastonbury Court just before Easter 2024. To her, of course, it was a place where she could be looked after temporarily until she was well enough to go home! That belief hasn't changed substantially, although she is obviously becoming more and more comfortable, even happy, in her surroundings. This is due to the way the staff have given her the freedom to be her independent, intelligent, lovable, sociable self. Valuing the individuality of residents is, we know, a policy choice throughout the home and is one of the reasons we chose it. But it requires remarkable staff to put this into practice, day-by-day and across all departments. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, but Glastonbury Court seems to have found a way of combining the essential professional care sufferers need with loving kindness and a genuine interest in them as individuals. Thank you.
My father-in-law moved to Glastonbury Court after spending 6 months in their sister's care home where the staff were amazing. Due to his dementia deteriorating, he was moved to Glastonbury Court and in the short time he was there, the staff on Royal were also amazing. He was very well looked after and they were incredibly supportive and caring to both my father-in-law and to ourselves. We can't thank them enough for what they did for him. Although my father-in-law did not engage that much in the activities etc, what they offer to the residents is lovely. Relatives are kept updated via emails with the weekly activities and anything else that is going on. There is an app that keeps you informed of what activities the residents take part in. We were so glad of our decision to choose these care homes and would highly recommend them.
Although it was a hard decision to move my dad from his home to a care home, Glastonbury has been all I and my family had hoped for and more. The property is well-maintained and clean. The staff all have time for residents and family/friends alike. The food is excellent (I've enjoyed it too!). The close connection they have with a local surgery is important with regular visits by doctors. When my dad was at home with live-in carers I was still on edge concerned for him, but now he's at Glastonbury I can relax knowing he is well cared for and I enjoy the best times with him when I visit. I would recommend Glastonbury without hesitation.
Glastonbury Court, oh my goodness, on behalf of our family, we are beyond grateful for the incredible care, love and support shown to us and my grandmother throughout her time with you. From the moment we stepped into the door, we were made to feel so welcome. The staff are all exceptionally warm, caring and friendly and couldn’t do enough for her every single day. Even after she unfortunately passed, care home staff displayed empathy and love and we were incredibly grateful and honoured to have some staff members attend her funeral service. Words genuinely can’t ever express our sincere gratitude to you all - what an incredible group of people you all are.
My mum moved into Glastonbury Court after spending 7 weeks in hospital. All of the staff involved, from the office staff to the carers, have made this difficult experience as painless as possible for us all. They have always been friendly and understanding. Mum seems to have settled straight in and her levels of anxiety seem to have lessened. She always seems to be busy doing some activity or the other. So far, it has been only a positive experience. Thank you.
I am always warmly welcomed into Glastonbury Court, the staff are helpful and courteous, the place is always immaculately clean and I always enjoy my visits. There are always plenty of activities and I am pleased with the choice I have made. I find it interesting that another care home is spending 16 million pounds to upgrade their facilities so that it mirrors Glastonbury Court.
After a fall, Mum was not able to return to independent living, so we sought respite care from Glastonbury Court Care Home. The only room available was on the upper floor on Angel Suite, where a lot of the residents have dementia. All the staff were kind, caring and very supportive to our mum. My mum understandably wanted to return to living independently in her own home, so we organised a live-in carer. After 2 weeks it was clear that Mum would be happier and safer back in the care home, where 24-hour care is in place. Mum now lives downstairs on Abbey Suite in a modern, clean room and the staff are very friendly, caring and patient, and try to include her in the varied daily activities, which she enjoys. Relatives are always kept updated with emails of the weekly activities and we can also see the activities that Mum has taken part in on our mobile phone app and relatives can join their loved ones on trips out. I fully recommend Glastonbury Court Care Home as a 1st choice for outstanding care.
Having cared for my husband for the duration of his Alzheimer's condition, I was understandably anxious and upset when it became obvious, following a period of hospitalisation that he needed extensive and professional care. His transition at this difficult time has been handled with great care, empathy, understanding of my needs and professionalism. All members of staff are helpful, kind and doing their utmost to help.
We came into contact with Glastonbury Court at first when Mum was sent there by the hospital for respite after a fall. Shortly after returning home, Mum was struggling to cope and it became clear she needed help. We immediately looked again at Glastonbury Court because of the good experience we'd already had and recommendations we'd heard from other people. Dealing with Glastonbury Court was a good experience for me, as all the staff were very helpful and understanding. Mum felt safe and very well cared for by all of the caring staff. She had a lovely modern and clean room and had a chance to take part in many activities, which the staff encouraged her to do as much as possible. She made friends of the carers, even if she didn't always remember their names. I want to thank Glastonbury Court for all they did for my mum in her last months of life - Making her as safe and comfortable as possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone in a similar position.
I have put excellent on all counts but I have to because Glastonbury Court is doing a remarkable job in caring for my husband. Smiles and kind words from staff never fail. My husband settled in quickly and is doing really well. It is a pleasure to visit. It also feels like visiting a large family.
I have nothing but praise for Glastonbury Court. The staff are very attentive and any requests I have are dealt with quickly and professionally. I get on well with all the staff members and they are with me. I have no complaints at all.
