My dad came here last Tuesday. I am amazed at the beautiful and caring environment and at a difficult time for all of us, all the staff have made things so much easier. Yesterday he told me he's happier than he's been for months and is very settled. Thank you all.

We feel that any minor issues we have had will be resolved now. Mum has had the opportunity to move to a room closer to the central area on her floor.

The organisation and care were very good and staff went out of their way to make my mum feel welcome and help her to feel settled during her respite period. Liz was extremely helpful and communication was very efficient. The room and other facilities were great - lovely decor and all very practical
for people with limited mobility. Would recommend!

I went for respite care for 3 weeks whilst the family were away. The accommodation was ideal. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and treated it like a holiday. I entered into the extensive range of activities which varied greatly to cater for all interests. The team was very helpful regarding food and
drink to meet individual needs. All staff were caring and friendly. The customer relations manager was extremely helpful in ensuring ground-floor accommodation was provided and in helping book my stay. I would highly recommend Mayfield View.

Great, thoughtful, well trained, kind staff who go the extra mile to make the residents comfortable, happy, and well cared for in a modern, clean, and well appointed facility. The gardens, extra facilities such as the cafe, beauty parlour, cinema room, etc all make this an outstanding care home.

Following an accident ( spillage) from my green 'filter' on the floor of my apartment. A stain was noticed on my reclining chair, which has not been removed. I await an upholsterer to provide me with an armchair. I have been waiting since (June - August) of 2025. I have no serious complaints apart
from this. I consider I am well looked after, Mayfield, and I furthermore do not have dementia, as most of the residents do. Just one more thing - the light in my upright cabinet is not working. Tim says he has ordered a replacement fitting, but nothing seems to be happening - I would dearly love for it to be working again.

I am pleased to say my husband has been a resident at Mayfield View, Ilkley since mid-October 2025. The wonderful facilities ensured that he settled in straight away. His room is extremely comfortable and warm. The very caring, attentive staff are always on hand with a warm smile and assistance. As
I visit my husband most days for a few hours, we can still share a life together, join in activities and enjoy a coffee in the lovely cafe with our family and friends.

been very helpful and have followed up on any requests/ medical
Needs for Sheila by calling me and updating

Soft furnishings and expensive fixtures and fittings do NOT provide hands on care for residents, that is down to care staff who, in my father's case, had the authority to make care planning and evaluation decisions autonomously, which were way above their experience and pay-grade. When management
were involved, they talked the talk but little else.
When suggestions, and then ultimately complaints, were made, over a three month period little changed resulting in unsafe care for my father who continued to fall and injure himself until we pro-actively intervened and called 999 ourselves when he was taken to hospital and died 5 days later.
Be aware that on a residential unit, if end of life medication is needed, it is provided by community District Nurses and NOT by nurses within the same building on a different floor. This is standard care home practice but unless it is explained (which it was not) your loved one is left in a limbo of pain and distress.
Be aware - LAST INSPECTED 2019.

We've had an exemplary experience at Mayfield View. We moved from another home, and the difference has exceeded our hopes. Any issues are dealt with promptly. The staff are cheerful and friendly and have time for us. Although Mum gets frailer in many ways, her physical health is better. We are
reassured that she is in safe hands

My mum has been a resident of Mayfield since April 2024. She is really happy here, very comfortable and feels safe. All the staff are wonderful with her and the nursing care has been fantastic. The little extras that are available at Mayfield make my mums life more enjoyable. There is always
something to do through the day, you can go to the coffee shop, participate in daily activities and go for a walk/sit out in the lovely garden area. Lovely home where nothing is too much trouble.

We are beyond grateful for the exceptional care we have received since both my parents were placed in April. Sadly my Dad died after 3weeks and the staff could not have been kinder. It gives us comfort as a family that Mum has now got her forever home. Special thanks to one member of staff for her
kindness, reassurance and personal attention. We don't know everyone yet but thank you to an additional four members of staff. You make such a lovely caring team, thank you.

Amazing welcome on first day. Staff waiting at front door for dad arriving, after 2 traumatic days of sudden Bereavement and a massive change for dad, made to feel at ease and that we were part of the community straight away.
All staff introduced them selves and one of them was fabulous at
sorting everything out for us, making the experience a fantastic one.

Both our parents were in Mayfield for a total of three years. Sadly, they both passed away with just a few weeks between them at the end of last year. From the day they both went into Mayfield, the care that they both received from the staff was exceptional. My sister and I cannot thank the
Manager and all of her team for the care that they provided for Mum and Dad every day, treating them as family members and not just a resident, which was lovely to see. All the team were amazing and were a huge part of our lives during the time our parents were there. We were always included in everything that was going on at Mayfield; the communication between the staff and ourselves was paramount. My parents were happy with the care and we knew that they were being looked after very well, whilst still being treated with the upmost respect. Nothing is too much trouble at Mayfield. We miss our "Mayfield family" deeply, but would not hesitate in recommending them to other friends and family.

Dad lived at Mayfield for the last 18 months of his life. He settled in well and received incredibly kind and compassionate care from all the staff. He enjoyed taking part in the many activities. He had a lovely room which was very cosy and always clean. All the staff were very friendly towards him
and all who visited. During his final days - he was very well cared for and I am incredibly grateful to all the staff who went the extra mile to not only look after Dad but the family visiting as well.

My father moved into Mayfield View after a fall, a stay in hospital and with increasingly bad dementia. The staff were so kind, patient and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble! They cared for me as a person and for my dad as a person right to the end of his life. They treated us both with
dignity and human kindness. The room was kept immaculate, despite my father being bed-bound. Attempts were made to interest him by providing books and DVDs. They patiently fed him when he could no longer do this. They changed him into a day shirt in the daytime and pjs at night time to help him orientate in time. They provided a bed extension within 24 hours of his arrival as he was tall. Just wonderful care and so reassuring to me who had cared for him at home until his fall. He was 92.
