View Full Details of Newton House Care HomeMy father has been living at Newton House for a year. The care home is run very efficiently and is always very clean. The decor is modern and bright. The staff are amazing - the nursing and care staff are so patient and cheerful with each resident. The same applies to the rest of the staff = everyone works to make it a comfortable home for the residents. My father's room is very attractive (and has enough space for some of his own furniture and pictures). Newton House has a varied activity programme - each resident has a copy of the weekly activities and can choose what they want. There is a cafe where people can gather and, in warmer months, we also sit in the garden. (When my father wants a quiet time in his room, that is respected too.) Each resident has their own detailed care programme. The nursing staff are happy to talk to family members at any time.
My Dad has been in Newton House now for 17 months and we as family could not be more happy with the care and attention he receives. Nothing is too much trouble and any minor issues we have had are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The food choices are varied and my Dad enjoys his 3 nutritious, home cooked meals very much. Kerry Anne and the events team do an absolute sterling job celebrating all the key public holidays and commemorative days ensuring all the residents are included and the weekly planners which are issued keeps us all up to date. Sharon the mini bus driver is fantastic and every two weeks comes up with a varied itinerary to suit everyone and all abilities. I am so grateful to Lara and the whole team(special mention to Bobby) for the compassion, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of staff. The home is clean, welcoming, and peaceful, and just feels like an extended family. Newton House care home deserves every one of its 5 stars awarded.
Newton House is a fantastic facility that has warm and caring staff. My Mother has been a resident for 5 months or so and the activities and interaction she has on a daily basis is giving her a new lease of life as things were bad previously (health wise and her wellbeing in general). The level care she has received exceeds what I had even anticipated. Thank you.
I am a volunteer at Newton House Care Home, and provide monthly Football Memories sessions for residents, and have done this for the past year. When I approached the care home and asked if Football Memories was something the residents would be interested in, I received a very positive and enthusiastic response from the manager. Every time I go to Newton House, I am given a warm welcome by all members of staff - some who know me, some who don't. And the welcome is always the same, regardless of the staff role. Staff members always join in the Football Memories sessions, and exhibit a very positive, patient and caring attitude towards residents during the sessions, and also when transporting residents to and from the sessions. Staff also invite residents families and friends to the sessions, making the care home a vital hub of the community. Newton House is a very friendly and enjoyable place to visit, and there is always a wide range of activities for residents to take part in.
I go into volunteering every week and I find the residents absolutely amazing. Each week there are several activities to choose from and the residents are well engaged in their day to day activities at times if there is a challenging moment that arises it is quickly resolved and the residents get that much deserved attention and TLC they require.
My mum has dementia and no memory but still mobile and rhe care and support she gets is first class the staff are so friendly and really take care of mum to the extent of small things like painting her nails or putting her jewellery on to match her clothes so she looks great
Clean and well-maintained home. Staff are friendly and caring. Lots of activities and events take place that are relevant and well-organized. Good location, able to take residents out for walks safely and close to some shops, restaurants & cafe's etc.
My sister who has worked abroad , latterly in Belgium has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and medical advice was that she should re-locate to Scotland to be nearer family for treatment. This move proved to be very difficult and stressful for all concerned. She has been resident in Newton House since December 2022 receiving good treatment. As her illness has progressed she has become more withdrawn in spite the staff's best efforts to get her involved in the many activities provided. I have no hesitation in recommending this well run, and welcoming care home
Newton House has been a wonderful setting for my mum to thrive. As someone who needs 'buzz' and company, she gets this in abundance. A daily suite of activities week in-week out keeps my mum and all the residents busy and in high spirits. The blend of physical, musical, and creative tasks keeps it interesting and a lot of fun. The staff are exceptional. Everyone is friendly. Everyone cares. Everyone seems proud to work at Newton House and this comes through in the standard of their work and care. The food is obviously good too, In the 6 months my mum has lived at Newton House she has gained a healthy appetite and equally healthy weight. Newton House is a very comfortable environment. The bedrooms and communal areas are furnished to a very high standard, making it a lovely place to spend time in. I have been immensely impressed with everyone and everything at Newton House. I can't rate it highly enough. Bravo all.
We have nothing negative to report ! The staff are extremely kind, patient, forbearing , pleasant and attentive. The rooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and it seems the ethos is transferred right through to all those working there . I know that any queries we might have are taken note of and will be dealt with, and the experience of knowing my mother is well cared for is a comfort . I have also proved personal support and kindness on more than one occasion. The manageress deserves high accreditation!
My mum has been a resident since 2022. Her health and mental capabilities have deteriorated in that time. There is no option other than to reside in a care home. I don't blame the care home for the deterioration but I do think that if there were more activities it would help slow the progress. It feels as if my mum just sits in a chair all day waiting for the next meal.
My father has been a resident since December 2024 and can't praise the staff highly enough. From the pleasant greeting at reception to the staff looking after the Forth Ward. Plenty variety of activities, visits and things to do. Great selection of food and a lovely cafe where visitors can meet with their loved ones. As well as the quality of care, we have been reassured that we are kept informed of his well being from staff, when there has been a doctor visit or if just not his usual self. This has been a godsend knowing that this level of care and thought is in place, especially when we are away for a number of days and are unable to visit. Staff are all friendly and polite and we're all on first name terms with them. The relaxed environment makes our time visiting more welcoming.
My husband was initially in Newton House for respite but is now in full time care with dementia. Over the time my husband has been there, I have become more relaxed and happy that he is being well looked after, encouraged to join in all the activities and have fun. I asked my husband recently how he felt, and he told me he was happy. What more can I say! A thank you to all the carers, staff, reception for being so friendly and helpful.
It never ceases to amaze me about how well my dad is looked after. The staff are very helpful and nothing ever seems too much of an issue. Overall the professionalism and freindliness of all of the staff is tremendous.
Newton House is a lovely home and the staff are very attentive. They have a mini bus for day trips which is a great thing for residents to feel attached to the outdoors and not feel isolated inside. My mum has made friends and likes the meals and movie nights and singers that are provided.
My wife moved into Newton House in October 2024 from hospital. She was suffering from depleted health both mentally and physically. Now, about 6 months later, she is beginning to flourish again - her family and friends say she is looking well and has regained much of her confidence. It is a joy to visit her. I put this down to the excellent care she receives. All the carers are willing to assist her - nothing is too much bother. This is partly due to input from the staff trainer and the clinical lead. The nurses take their work seriously but are also happy at their work and very willing to communicate both ways. This atmosphere of joy permeates the whole place. There are activities every day and outings as well. The activities leader is excellent and prepares a weekly planner which is posted throughout the home and emailed to the next of kin. The manager deserves credit for her excellent leadership and all her hard work in running this large care home so competently.
I have nothing but praise for everyone at Newton house where nothing is too much trouble no question a silly question and above all else rhe care to mum is superb. The staff have made it their mission to get to know mum well and know she loves her jewellery for example so always have a necklace on with her matching clothes. It definitely gives me peace of mind thank uou
Since my Dad has been in the care of your home, I am happy and relieved, and now not as worried as I was when he was living alone. I can honestly say all of the staff are amazing and give everything they do for my Dad 110%, no matter what level the help is! Dad is still in the settling down period, which can be hard for us all, but we know now that Dad is safe and looked after 24 hours a day. Dad enjoys it when we take him out on the vastly different places he can choose from in the minibus and also likes us to take him out separately, even just for lunch/dinner! I do believe Dad has so much more social life than he would have at home, and we all enjoy that (not just Dad!). I am so happy we managed to get Dad a room in your beautiful home, as I don't think we could or would have picked a better Care Home for our much loved 'daddy'. Again, I can't thank you all enough! The whole team are amazing!
Newton House Care Home is outstanding. Not only basic care but the extra activities offered to residents. As a family, we feel the care and needs of the residents are bespoke to each individual and there is a huge focus on person-centred care. There are several sitting areas and gardens to sit in with other residents and family when visiting. All the staff are professional, friendly and extremely caring. We could not be happier with the care here for my husband.
Cannot fault the staff for the care they give my mum, she has a great relationship with them and they look after her very well. Her reaction when she sees them shows this. The staff member of reception always goes out of her way to make her laugh. Such a credit to Newton House. The trips are also a huge favourite of my mum's and seeing her enjoy the with the driver is lovely.
