Since my mum moved into Haddington Care Home, I have been delighted with the level of communication from the team.
The "activity coordinators" do an amazing job and appear to have lots of variety of things to do and places to go, covering the interests of the residents.
From the first meeting I
had with Valerie, I knew Haddington Care Home was the place for my mum, and I have not been disappointed.

My husband has been in Haddington Care Home for very nearly 2 years. The staff are excellent - they always manage to be cheerful and seem to get on well together, creating a relaxing atmosphere for all. They are so caring and kind, I feel my husband is in good hands and well looked after. The
consistency of staff is much improved, and I feel they really know my husband and treat him as an individual. The food is varied and always smells nice. As he can't talk or walk, eating is one of his few pleasures. I have kindly been allowed to accompany him on trips, which has been wonderful, as otherwise he doesn't get out. The music afternoons are fun. The other activities look interesting. The reception staff are welcoming and friendly, which makes a huge impact on arrival. Recent redecorations have brightened up the lounge and dining area. There have been minor issues with communication, but nothing impossible to resolve. Overall, I am very happy with the care provided.

My mum has been a resident in Haddington Care Home for the past 2½ years, and overall we have been very happy with the level of care she has received. The staff are kind, caring, and treat her with dignity and respect.
Communication has generally been good, and any concerns or questions we have had
have been addressed promptly.
The team works hard to ensure my Mum is comfortable, safe, and well looked after. There are a few carers in particular who really know Mum and let me know funny stories of things that happen when I'm not there
No care home is perfect, but on the whole our experience has been good. Knowing that my mum is being cared for and is near by is such a relief for me.

Mum has improved so much since she entered Haddington Care Home that we are back to going out for day trips together again.
Mum has made new friends and loves all the Carers and says they work hard to keep everyone healthy and happy.
I know Mum is in safe hands here and despite me having
reservations about her coming into the home it's all turned out marvellously well.

My Dad suffers from Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and has been a resident in Haddington Care Home since July 2024. The reception staff are very friendly and informative, and the carers are generally lively and enthusiastic. The care home is clean with a welcoming, open-plan layout which is
bright and airy. I regularly take my golden retriever in to visit with me and she is very well received by housemates and carers alike. I have encountered a couple of minor issues with communication from and between staff in the past but these were quickly resolved by the management team, who were very understanding and attentive. There are daily activities and weekly musical entertainment. Unfortunately, I find that although he is well cared for, at times he is left alone for periods without staff interaction which can be isolating for him as he is unable to communicate and relies on interaction and stimulation.

I have been visiting my sister-in-law in Haddington Care Home once a week for the past 18 months. The staff at reception are always friendly and helpful. The carers on the top floor are cheerful and attentive. The only negative thing I've noticed is the time it takes for the personal alarm button to
be answered.

My father is nearly 97 years old, very social, but needs nursing care. He moved into Haddington care home recently, and he loves it. It's very clean and well laid out. The staff really seem to care, from Admin staff to hands-on carers (he particularly enjoys visits from our collie). I feel we have
been well supported from the outset. Very well-led team.

My aunt is well cared for. All staff are really good with her.Care is good though the medication managing sleep is still an issue. Clinical staff keep me informed of any issues or updates with medication.
All staff are very approachable.
Entertainment team are good though my aunt does not engage
to much in that.
Overall she is settled and staff seem to be on top of all her requirements
A big thanks and well done
I have marked poor in relation to value for money. This is not a reflection on the care home I just believe all available care is overpriced for it people not supported by local authorities.

Overall I think my Auntie is very well cared for. The staff are excellent, reception staff are friendly and welcoming and the care team are always working hard and make time for anything we request.
My only constructive feedback would be on 2 points:
My aunties bedding looks worn, her pillows are
flat as pancakes and covered in dirty marks as in her arm chair.
Secondly her wardrobe and drawers are a riot. I tidy them up every week but when laundry return them (I appreciate they are busy and have huge amounts) but it would be good if they took an extra min just to put things in the right place or hang things on a hanger.

Mum was only in the care home for a month before her unexpected passing. She settled in very quickly as staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The care they gave her was exceptional and genuine. Her room was perfect with a wonderful view. When she became unwell their attentive care to her was
impeccable to the very end. She also said the meals were just like the ones she made at home. The care I got was compassionate and very supportive.

Popped in before Mum returns for 2 weeks respite. New Manager & Deputy Manager, so professional/welcoming, but also saw previous Manager who is overseeing a new home, in the same care group. Staff still very friendly and professional from management, clerical, nursing staff, carers, support staff
etc. Mum really enjoyed her previous visits here and sang the praises of the staff. The standard of food still looks excellent too.
Maintenance must be a high priority as very clean and beautifully furnished throughout.
I am completely confident that Mum will be in the best of hands and would highly recommend Haddington Care Home. The whole team are amazing and I am so grateful to have the peace of mind that Haddington Care Home provides.

Care in the home is outstanding.
Food provided could do much better.
The activities team do so much for the residents.
Above all the care home is a very nice place, very homely.

Mum moved into care home in March this year after a 4 month spell in hospital. Since moving in she is happier, integrates more with people in general. Participates on activities when she can (in wheelchair) and says she is happy. If she's happy we're delighted I find all the staff from reception to
manager all helpful and friendly and Mum says all staff very nice.

Mum couldn't have been better cared for and looked after than she has been at Haddington Care Home. The staff are all excellent and very caring; the home is beautifully furnished and laid out and is clean, spacious and light. The menus and food are lovely and there are lots of activities for the
residents. I never would have believed that Mum would settle in a care home but have been proved completely wrong! Thanks all.
17 May 2024
From the moment we were given a guided tour of the home by the deputy manager, we knew that Mum would be given the best of care. Mum's needs are more than being met and the staff are truly wonderful. There are lots of activities, including singers, dancers, boat trips and days out in surrounding
towns. Overall, we are extremely happy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Haddington Care Home to anyone wishing to place a family member in care.

Pre-admission induction was extremely detailed and comprehensive.
Facilities, support and hands-on staff are excellent.
Residents are treated with dignity and in a friendly, considerate manner.
Social interaction and outside activity are excellent and well-supervised.

Haddington Care Home has provided a safe and friendly environment for my Mum who has mixed dementia. She has settled in very quickly spending most of her day in the communal area or taking part in activities. This has given her the interaction we were unable to give her at home and she has already
made new friends. The staff are very compassionate and treat her with respect and dignity, and I have confidence that she is being well cared for. The building is very clean and airy and maintained to a high standard. The rooms are very spacious and always clean and tidy. We were apprehensive about moving Mum into care, but everyone at Haddington Care Home have gone over and above to help with the transition.
08 March 2024
I found Haddington Care Home exceptionally friendly, competent and comfortable for my wife who has been a resident since November 2023.
The staff were very eager to help and there was an atmosphere in the home which verified this from management down. The carers and nurses couldn’t have been kinder
and the cleanliness of the home was obvious from the reception area throughout.
I would commend this care home without reservation.

A home with a family atmosphere with very caring and professional staff. Life is never dull and so much fun.
The rooms are large, bright and clean and all areas are easily accessed by residents to allow independence.
Thank you to everyone for looking after my mum so well.
26 October 2023
My mother's individual needs are very well catered for. I feel the home knows and understands her.
She is always clean and well-fed, and she is happy to engage with all staff and residents.
I marked down the room as it's a bit small with little room for visitor chairs. The wardrobe feels very
small, so we had to buy a larger one ourselves.
A lovely, happy place my mother now calls home.
