A wonderfully caring environment for a respite break post surgery. Staff friendly and approachable at all times. Menu choices superb.

After a long, happy and contented life my grandma found herself frail, 98 years old snd battling with dementia.
Despite almost round the clock care it became clear that she needed support 24 hours a day.
The team from North care Suites assessed and accepted her.
Unfortunately she took a sudden
turn for the worse and care at home became distressing for her and for us as a family, recognising we could not meet her needs. Despite this change Northcare suites accepted her for end of life care.
From the moment they began caring for her they extended that compassion to us, a grieving family. The person centered care was kind and compassionate, the very best in end of life care in a beautiful environment.
Staff were always kind, never walked by without offering support and kindness, and a cup of tea.
As a nurse of more than 25 years I cannot express my appreciation enough. My grandma was so proud I went into to nursing a this team demonstrate the very best of the profession.

The service has been outstanding in the support of our father and wider family, since my father became a resident at the end of November 2025.
Absolutely every staff member has been caring, professional, kind and hard working in every interaction with our whole family.

My Mum needed some respite care following hospitalisation. From first contact all the staff were excellent. Mum stayed 3 weeks and got just the care and attention we hoped for. The room and facilities are all first class but it is the staff which is the differentiator. Debbie and Kirsty were
very helpful and supportive and they obviously recruit and manage the staff very well. The atmosphere seems very genuine and caring. All the staff I met seemed compassionate and had time to look after Mum. Very impressive. Well done everybody and thank you

Dad is very well looked after in here and the family are very happy to see the quality of care that dad receives. We visit regularly and see how well looked after the residents are and appreciate the lovely staff who are so warm and welcoming to everyone. His room is very nice with a lovely view of
Edinburgh skyline and it is always clean and tidy. The food is always looking and smelling good and i can particularly recommend the tearoom on the 3rd floor where you can have the most delicious cakes and afternoon tea.
Overall a very good facility.

Fantastic care home, wonderful staff who have the patience of a saint! Always keep us informed of anything needed. My auntie is being so well looked after even though she is very difficult! Special thanks to all those on castle suite and Jess on reception who is always lovely and welcoming

In my opinion Northcare Suites is the equivalent standard of a luxury hotel. Can't praise highly enough every one involved in the running of Northcare. My husband is extremely well cared for and I have no hesitation in recommending Northcare to all my friends.

I find the nursing staff and carers very helpful and attentive, cleaning staff do a great job as her room and hallways are always clean.
The reception staff is also cheerful and care home manager friendly and always makes time to let on and inform me of any developments that are taking place.
There is a fabulous cafe with spectacular views you can enjoy and the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Every element of Northcare Suites is excellent and we feel extremely lucky to have found my Mother-in-law such a wonderful care home. I would quite happily move in myself! Thanks to everyone for doing such a brilliant job.

We were welcomed very warmly indeed and my mother-in-law received excellent care during her fortnight of respite. It was also a very pleasant environment for visiting family members, who enjoyed sharing coffees and teas with her in the gorgeous bistro with its spectacular city views. Our overall
experience was stress-free, all the staff were very friendly and everything was made as easy and accommodating as possible for us all.

Very happy to give a positive review of Northcare. All staff are caring, friendly and helpful. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the rooms are modern and fresh. There is plenty of choice at mealtimes and different activities throughout the day. The brasserie on the top floor serving tea and
coffee to visitors is a lovely touch, it makes me feel very welcome. Northcare is really lovely, and my dad is happy here. I'm so glad we found it.

Can't say enough good things about this care home. Staff all brilliant and friendly. Mum (Alzheimer's) has been in nearly 3 months now and she is happy and contented. Well looked after. Family are all very happy with the way things are going.

My mother has been a resident for around 6 months. From the very start it was clear the whole team actually care for their residents with great empathy. My mother settled in well and is happy in the home. No issues of any concern at all.

I am delighted with the care Mum is receiving at Northcare Suites. The staff are friendly and engage well with her and treat her with the dignity and respect she deserves, as well as having a laugh with her at times, which she enjoys.
All of her personal care/medical needs are attended to very
well. She has a daily assisted shower and the nursing team keep me updated on any issues as they arise, or changes in her medication.
There is a programme of daily activities and lunch/dinner in the dining room which allows residents to socialise and mix with one another which suits mum as she gets anxious when she is on her own. Mum particularly enjoys the musical entertainment which is provided as she loves a sing along.
Mum has a big family and lots of friends who come to visit her regularly and are also made to feel welcome.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Northcare Suites to others looking for a care facility for their loved ones.

Welcoming and friendly staff who are always cheerful to welcome Mum every day. Encouraging and caring with bags of patience, the carers allow Mum to feel safe and as an individual in her own right. Could not fault the care and standards.

Northcare Suites, Edinburgh is simply wonderful. The ambience is lovely from the minute you walk through the door. Staff are knowledgeable, respectful and so kind. My mother's room has amazing views over the city and is kept clean and tidy. I'm kept updated about her health and have regular six
monthly reviews. Catering is fabulous and they really look after their visitors too with the Brasserie on the top floor being a favourite place to visit with Mum. There are plenty of activities should clients wish to participate and so in short, I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

This is a 5-star care home. Management continuity has been good, staff continuity is good although at times they appear to be short-staffed. Quality of care is good and facilities are excellent. Individual rooms are spacious, light and comfortable. There is a full programme of activities and an
excellent onsite cafe for visitors to take residents to.

The care given to my stepmother is first class and I am always told when there has been a deterioration in her health. The staff and management act quickly when they think external medical advice is required.

My father was placed in Northcare as he was bedblocking in ERI. Due to his needs it was very evident that Social Care was unable to meet them. After long discussions he made the decision to see if he could remain in Northcare, which he did. The care and attention he received and myself until his
death last year was exceptional, could not have asked for any more. As I was so impressed I moved my mother from her care home to currently is. The attention to detail is throughout the staff. This is starting with the Manager. The training given and recieved is exceptional. The choice, respect and dignity shown and given is perfect. The GPs, nurses call and give updates if there has been any or no change and are very receptive to suggestions in how to treat a longstanding condition. I am looking forward to my old age as I will be putting my name down on the waiting list along with my cousins.

Dad is very well looked after in here and the family are very happy to see the quality of care that dad receives. We visit regularly and see how well looked after the residents are and appreciate the lovely staff who are so warm and welcoming to everyone. His room is very nice with a lovely view of
Edinburgh skyline and it is always clean and tidy. The food is always looking and smelling good and i can particularly recommend the tearoom on the 3rd floor where you can have the most delicious cakes and afternoon tea.
Overall a very good facility.
